I guess I'm the kind of man who tends to sit and plough through the pain and problems alone, I tend not to ask for help or support which on one side it's good I guess , on the other side not so much.

Totally behind! Yesterday I was reading an article about people complaining of Coldplay as a choice for the super bowl. They said they expected a "snooze fest" or something. Which I don't know if it's the newspapers being totally behind the loop because no one can call them snoozy post Viva and I'm sure most people, even non Coldplay fans, know Viva the song. So yeah I'm thinking it's the newspapers writers still being stuck in the distant past (maybe they just know the oldplayers thread loool)

They kept it because it was in the recording so I guess they didn't have much choice. I remember Chris saying the first part of the song is a mashup of different outtakes Beyoncé did. I'm hardly a Beyoncé fan myself. I only like one song by her called Halo hehe Hymn is a 100% Coldplay song imo, Beyoncé really only does guest vocals and totally "submits" to serve the song. I think she did an amazing job!! And yes what with his British accent, falsetto and mumbling I also often have to read the lyrics to understand what he says!

Absolutely. This song totally helped me out of that situation and still does. Not only the music but the lyrics were spot on resonating with me, so it has turned into a great memory! :)

Oh thats a nice memory about Adventure! I have a similar experience to Adventure as you did to Hymn. I listened to it the first time at around 2 am US time and I was probably the most depressed I´d been in ages, I was pretty much torn apart and heartbroken, so I barely registered the song when it played, even if I listened to it several times. I was just too numb to let anything in, so not a good memory. But now the song is one of my favourites ever! :)

Indecipherable to my ears...but I think mostly irrelevant as far as lyrics go. It must be something Beyonce was saying between takes. This is one of my favorite sounds in the song actually! haha It sounds like a guitar sound being cut off abruptly, but not sure if its electronic or actually done on the guitar. I like it though, gives the songs a nice rock edge :) p.s. I just re-listened to this song now with my earphones in full quiet in my room and wow its just such a gorgeous song! Like ahhhhh so good :)

^^ Hehe nice memory :) So I assume the thread asks about best Coldplay moment this year? Ok that would have to be the first time I listened to AHFOD, holding the vinyl so colourful and reading the lyrics for the first time. It was a very emotional and wonderful moment for me. The songs, the lyrics, the packaging even, the colours, everything was so well done and resonated so much with me I remember thinking "wow this is such an amazing early christmas gift!" . And it turned out to be extra special because I had no more gifts this year and I really did not celebrate christmas on christmas day, so that day will always be Christmas 2015 for me :)

Very little new I can contribute here I guess...this thread raises the same issue as many other threads imo. About mainstream artists I think there are artists whose work I enjoy and those I don't, though the same can be said about indie artists , so how popular they are is not an important factor for me.
