Maybe you could try keeping a diary on your computer or a paper diary. It does indeed help to get things out that way. I find these days sometimes I´d sit and record an audio diary of the day, helps me getting things out and sorted :)
  2. ^^ Hmmm Radiohead fans here uh? hehe
  3. Anyone else? :) The hint so far: Jodie Foster waits anxiously for it (in film: Contact)
  4. Insert your postcode and tv provider here and the channel number will show up. I checked but I dont have it here :/ http://www.palladia.tv
  5. Hmmm not exactly :) Though she does miss her dad, she was not searching for him.
  6. I dont have that channel on my TV apparently, so I cant say :/
  7. ^^ LOL Nothing can shock my iPhone anymore after the novel-like title that is Viva La Vida or Death and all His Friends hehe
  8. My personal favourite so far is Paris 2012. I loved it both while I was there but also every time I re-watch it on the blu-ray.
  9. Anyone gonna solve this before 2016? :) The hint so far: Jodie Foster waits anxiously for it (film: Contact)
  10. Listening to Help is round the corner quite a few times, reflecting over all the tough times in 2015 personally and thinking about everything we have been through in the world, all the hardship, conflicts, problems...sending my strongest thoughts and hope that 2016 will bring the help we need.
  11. Stuck here, in the middle of nowhere With a head ache, and a heavy heart Well nothing was going quite right here And I'm tired, I can't play my part Help is just around the corner of 2015, for us Oh my head won't stop aching And I'm sat here, licking my wounds I'm shattered But it really doesn't matter 'Cause my rescue is going to be here in 2016 Help is just around the corner of 2015, for us Kinda feeling this personally now but also for the world in general...I think we´ve been through a lot in 2015. This song is fitting. 15 hrs til midnight in Cali
  12. I do like "fearless together" better though hehe I wish he sang it on the album lol
  13. Im not sure but I think they wished they could change them too LOL Problem is people at each concert would be highly disappointed if they did not hear those songs, and it might be their only or first Coldplay concert, so yeah those songs will always be there for better or worse hehe
  14. I must say, what a lovely thread! Only here with Coldplayers can one find such amazing descriptions of special moments connected to a specific song. its just a delight to read, keep them coming :) Reading the thread description though, its unclear to me if we are supposed to explain an association to a song and a time of day, or just a song and a specific time/setting/circumstance in which we most like listening to it? Ill list two off the top of my head, one for each :) Another´s Arms is almost exclusively a therapeutic song for me. Whenever I miss her and it hurts just a bit too much I put it on and the music/lyrics seem to help carry the pain. It usually results in a cathartic effect and after a while I feel better. Sadly (or maybe its a good thing) this song I almost exclusively listen to it during these moments. When the longing is there but its not full blown painful I put on Always in My head. As for time of day, thats a bit more tricky...the only song that comes to mind now is Adventure of a Lifetime, I have noticed I listen to it and enjoy the most early in the morning when I get out of the house and start the day. It gives me just the right kick and sets the right mood :) Another one morning-associated is A head full of dreams for the same reason.
  15. Stop it just stop it! LOL I swear reading your lovely, detailed and well-written post I was right there on that motorbike as well...og god you made me miss a motorbike so much right now, damn you haha Great memories for you :) One day...one day....Harley Davidson here I will come :)
  16. Im partial to "chaos of times" but I must admit "sometimes" makes a bit more sense perhaps.
  17. Oh wow already! :) Happy New Year to you! Rock that Yellow track hehe :)
  18. I dont know if its business or simply because she does not contribute to the track enough to warrant the "feat." addition. I think that to me is the most likely reason. Your last sentence is my thoughts exactly. I highly doubt the different style of music is the reason why she is not featured or her not wanting to be associated with Coldplay. I dont believe that for a second :) Noel Gallagher is also not featured and his style of music is similar to Coldplay. No I still think the reason is simply the amount of contribution to the track. That to me explains both Tove Lo, Rihanna and Beyonce.
  19. Haha your last word lol yes it's not important but I'm just curious about stuff hehe I always heard of Rumi as Persian as well but the place where he was born and his parents belong to present day Afghanistan (once though apparently that part was included in Persia). So I guess CM is..... "Guilty of nothing , but geography" lol
  20. As the good Coldplayer that I am I tried haha but whereas I can listen to a track or two standalone no problem, I can't listen to to the whole album cuz it just tends to put my mood down or it just gets too slow at some parts as well.
  21. Unusual structure is probably a better word for it, slightly dissonant, unexpected, basically overall less "catchy". Not as much as Radiohead no hehe and not as accentuated as in "True Love" but the unusual chord progression and also unusual melody structure is to be found in most of Parachutes and some of A Rush. Off the top of my head some songs I think have this unusual melodic style are GPASUMF, some of spies, sparks, we never change, High speed, etc. I find this structure is prominent in Parachutes, still a bit there in A Rush, then almost completely disappear in X&Y. To my ears that's when Coldplay make almost every song a "catchy" song using more usual harmonious chord/melody structures. We can still find examples of this "unusual style" later on but it's very limited (for example Moving to Mars). I may be wrong but I suspect this is also partly why some prefer the older stuff cuz this structure overall gives a song a hint of more sophistication, less "catchy", and tend to make the song a bit more somber, serious. Anyways that's something that popped up to my ears when I compare the early work with later ones :)
  22. Hmm I think Beyonce part is just right. I dont see Hymn as working well as a duet. I like her popping in occasionally, ethereal like the angel in the lyrics :) As for the last thing you wrote, I disagree. I dont think thats the case.
  23. ^ Yeah I think Midnight is completely warm yet almost fully synth, so thats good example imo.
  24. Hmm if I click on "Coldplay & Rihanna" it´s true Rihanna does appear lower down with a link to her artist page, which I assume its a good thing cuz maybe a Coldplay fan would click on her page and find a Rihanna song he/she likes :) Now the question is why is Beyonce a ghost? lol Unless her contribution to the song is deemed way too minimal to even quote her as a "feat.", while Tove Lo sings more lines so she earns the "feat." label and finally Rihanna provides a full blown duet so she earns the coveted "Coldplay & Rihanna" title with corresponding link to her own artist page *lol*
  25. Yes I can see she is listed in the author field (Coldplay & Rihanna), not on the song title. While Tove Lo is not listed in the artist field but in the song name (feat. Tove Lo) and Beyonce is listed on neither. What gives? LOL
