  1. I think this line works perfectly. I don't understand why people look for grammatical sense in lyrics. Lyrics are basically poetry and I don't see why they HAVE to work grammatically. This line works very well through suggestive imagery juxtaposed directly, without any kind of punctuation. There's "drunken hazard" and "daniel in a lion's den" placed together which combine to create a very interesting and suggestive image. There are a lot of lines in coldplay lyrics that don't make sense grammatically, but this doesn't mean that there is no meaning there. There definitely is meaning, it's just not straightforward. That doesn't make it a bad line.
  2. I love all of them but the worst one for me is Parachutes. The pacing was just terrible on that album. All the songs individually are great but I can't sit through it in sequence.
  3. Honestly, I don't know if Coldplay would have kept making music if it weren't for Eno. Maybe once they move away from him they'll make a true masterpiece album. But as of right now, I'm just thankful for Eno restoring their confidence as a band. Also, that first post was a joke... Just to be clear...
  4. LOL U STUPID IDIOT U NOT LIKE COLDPLAY, LEAVE DA FORUMS NAO!
  5. Ah, that stinks. Hopefully it'll be available sometime in the next few minutes.
  6. I haven't been paying attention... I don't religiously follow the website lol. A little notification just popped up on my iPhone today completely out of the blue saying that it was available on iTunes. I wasn't expecting it until Tuesday.
  7. Just downloaded it. I was surprised that it was released early in the US.
  8. Really? I think it sounds incredibly sincere and heartbroken. I thought it was brilliant.
  9. This seems spot on.
  10. I don't think it makes sense to say that "pop" simply denotates anything that is popular. How is that even logical? You can't just group together anything that sells well and call it all the same genre. Rap is not pop music even though it is popular. I think the term "pop music" changed in definition in order to define a genre that was created by artists like Michael Jackson, Madonna, and Prince. The artists defined as "pop" artists' roots lie in the music created by these guys (and gal).
  11. I would not consider The Flaming Lips pop... Phoenix isn't really indie at all either.
  12. My logic is that my definition still stands because you can't really have a very-produced-sounding indie album. That's an oxymoron.
  13. Who said anything about "indie pop"? I'm simply saying that the term is used two distinctly different ways by different people, but it's starting to move towards denotating a genre with a specific very produced "sound".
  14. Not necessarily. The term "pop music" really has become more of a specific genre rather than a term denotating any music that is popular.
  15. I like all the eras honestly. I have pretty wide music interests though so I can see how some people might prefer one era over another. Still, it's hard not to appreciate the range these boys have.
  16. It's strange how people compare Coldplay's "new" music with their "old" music. I don't really think of it in terms of what's "better" or "worse" because they're pretty different. It's really just a matter of preference, which I think is great. It's pretty cool to have a band with such range. Makes live setlists an endless slew of possibilities.
  17. And 60$ AKG K518's sound just as good as well. Beats are terrible for the price.
  18. Whoa man I live like 30 minutes outside of Rochester! Small world eh?
  19. I gave it 3 listens. Not listening again until release day.
  20. I was definitely the first person in Avon, NY to hear it without a doubt. Nothing but hicks out here haha.
  21. Really? I thought he was pretty prominant in the beginning, then Rihanna takes over for the middle part, then it's a straight duet for the last bit. Bear in mind, this isn't a very good quality version lol, you may be able to better-hear Chris when we get it in better quality.
  22. Please don't start this discussion for the billionth time.
