Liam Gallagher still hates Coldplay...or their fans
Oh, silly Liam. The only reason it looked like I wasn't having a good time seeing Coldplay is because I threw out my arm while raving during Lovers in Japan. Psst...Noel...don't tell Liam or anything, but I still buy your band's albums. Seriously, don't tell him. He might implode if he found out that many Coldplay fans are also Oasis fans, and vice versa.

Download Lhuna (duet with Kylie) on Monday! [1/12/08 World Aids day]
Holy hell, I did read in another thread they were going to release a new song, but I didn't think it'd be freaking Lhuna. Note to Coldplay: Stop releasing so many awesome new songs so close together. It will only make the down period before Album 5 even more painful.

Looking Ahead To Number Five!
That might be treading on X&Y's territory, though. And yeah, I would not want a rushed album, no matter how much they want to get one out by the decade's end. Maybe they could ease the pace with another EP with the still-leftover VLV tracks.

UGH! STUPID JONAS BROTHERS!
One thing's for sure - it'll be interesting to see what happens once Disney cuts theirs and Miley's cords, setting them off into the "real world". Many artists that made it big with Disney completely vanished from the public eye once they became independent. But yeah. Jonas Brothers. Never really listened to them, so I can't properly hate on them. But having not really listened to them, I have a feeling my life is better because of it.

How many people around you are crazy about Coldplay?
Oh yeah, I'm even thinking of sneaking lyrics into our conversations and whatnot. Y'know, talking about tides that I tried to swim against or climbing a ladder up to the sun. ...yeah, she'd really have no idea what the hell I'm talking about.

How many people around you are crazy about Coldplay?
I know a few crazy Coldplayers, though I'm undoubtedly the worst offender of the bunch. The friend that first introduced me to them? Yeah. I've surpassed him. At the concert, he was loud, but I was louder, which he couldn't believe. I've dragged much of my family into the pit, also (especially my mom). The girl I'm seeing is currently indifferent to them (i.e. typical radio junkie whose main exposure is hearing Viva or Lovers on the radio every hour). I'll work on her as time goes on. I really oughta shove Coldplay down her throat in a similar fashion to how she shoves all her problems down mine.

25-Nov-2008: Honda Center, Anaheim, Orange County (NEW DATE!)
Excellent vids, tentoizzymon. Great to relive the heart-attack-causing surge of energy when the first few notes of Viva sounded (which I shamelessly contributed to).

25-Nov-2008: Honda Center, Anaheim, Orange County (NEW DATE!)
Just got back from spending the night at a friend's, and I got stuff still to do, so I'll keep my thoughts brief for now, but may go more detailed later. Long story short, my first Coldplay concert, and sure as hell ain't gonna be my last. - Crowd around me wasn't jazzed at all. We were surrounded by a family that actually SAT most of the show (and we were in the 200's) and had zero energy, along with a couple that only focused on each other the entire concert, not the band. - I've read this from people before, but I had to see it for myself - the album recordings of Lost! and Politik truly don't do their live performances justice. - It's awesome when you have 5 people in a car all doing the Viva chant. 10,000+ people is a whole different story. - Wow, I thought I was only hearing The Killers in my head during Viva. I'd like somebody to upload that, along with The Hardest Part for its multiple entertaining moments. Yeah, I don't go to concerts often, but this is still gonna be a tough act to top. Everything I could have asked for. If anything was missing, it was a sense of energy in my immediate area, which only really lifted when the band came a couple aisles over for The Scientist/DWNC. A select few of us were pulling the entire weight most of the time.

25-Nov-2008: Honda Center, Anaheim, Orange County (NEW DATE!)
M'kay, I'm about to hit the road. First to meet up with my "posse", and then, to the venue! I probably won't be back online for another 24 hours, but I hope we all have an excellent time and I'll be back to rave in the aftermath tomorrow. And with that...I'm in terminal Coldplay fever...VIVA LA VIDA Y ADIOS!

people who want the limited release
My Best Buy must be an odd ball, because when I snagged the deluxe edition yesterday, there were at least 20 deluxe copies and dozens more than that of the EP itself (there were STACKS upon STACKS). I didn't even see people buying them. It made me feel really bad, actually, especially after reading from others that this EP is in limited supply. Really, check your local Best Buys not just for copies, but for the temporary discounts you get for them. Being new releases, they're several dollars cheaper than what they mark them for.

25-Nov-2008: Honda Center, Anaheim, Orange County (NEW DATE!)
Hmm...I'm studying these doppler weather radars carefully to plan accordingly for traffic and whatnot. It's not raining yet here in Ventura, and it looks as if I'll be in the clear to meet up with my friend in Hollywood beforehand without any trouble, though from that point we'll have to carefully calculate the best time to leave (we don't want to get there super-early, but early enough). But yeah. Totally stoked. My first Coldplay concert, as well as my first concert period in quite a while. :laugh3:

Coldplay Song Title Game
Not gonna top some of those, though I might have tried had I been bored enough. Everything's Not Lost, so Don't Panic about your Trouble, as The Hardest Part still lies Swallowed in the Sea on this Rainy Day. Take this as A Message or a Warning Sign when feeling Low, and remember that while We Never Change, the Daylight of the Yellow, Sleeping Sun will soon come at the Speed of Sound to save you from the White Shadows of Death and All His Friends. One of the most poetic things I've written. Which is sad.

New song in aid of (RED)WIRE?
You know a new Coldplay song alone would have sold me on this stunt, though the addition of new U2 and a Killers/Elton John collab sweetens the deal further. Viva holdover or not, 2008 has proven to be a huge Coldplay year that isn't even over yet in terms of new material. Even if it starts out (RED)WIRE exclusive, it's obvious somebody will create an alternative means of obtaining the songs...whatever that means is...

SURVIVOR! Prospekt's March ROUND 2!!!!!!!!
Lovers in Japan i.e. the obvious choice here.

Now My Feet Won't Touch The Ground Sounds JUST LIKE Til' Kingdom Come!
As I said in another thread, I'm not sure which of the two I prefer, though I'm now leaning towards Til Kingdom Come. Both are still pretty decent closing songs nonetheless, though neither blow me away.

The Offical "The Killers" Thread
I've only listened to this album in full once, thanks to both Prospekt's March and non-music things in life. While Sam's Town was an album that actually clicked with me, still feeling like a solid album without whipping out the sheer number of killer singles (no pun intended) that Hot Fuss did (heck, "Read My Mind" is my favorite Killers song), I'm not really feeling the vibe of this latest album. Nothing really stands out to me on first listen, though no doubt I'll give it a few more whirls, as I like "Human" more now than I did at first. But though "Human" and "Spaceman" are certainly decent, they're not gonna stand out in The Killers' singles library history. There is some nice experimental stuff like "I Can't Stay", though I could certainly do without hearing another "Joy Ride" from them. Like I said, gonna give it some more listens before a final verdict.

What singles would you have liked from VLV/PM
Not much on VLV strikes me as single material, as Lost! felt very awkward to hear on the radio. Violet Hill Viva la Vida Lovers in Japan Glass of Water Rainy Day

AMAZING SONG!
Excellent, excellent, excellent. Favorite on the EP, with the fact that it's on an EP being both fortunate and unfortunate. It's bad because it may not get the attention it would get with an album release, but good because then it can remain a beloved treasure among core fans of the band without it getting too mainstream. I'm really hoping they play this live at the show I'm seeing on Tuesday; they seem a bit inconsistent with throwing this onto their playlists.

The Fray
"You Found Me" is certainly on par with the quaility of their initial material, but doesn't branch out into any new territory. This may just be their way of pulling back onto the scene while also pulling back their fanbase. There could still be some surprises on the album. Though in regards to the Coldplay comparisons, it took a while for them also to step out of their zone of comfort, so I won't start rolling my eyes at The Fray until they come out with a 3rd or 4th album with no freshness. The only problem is that prime time TV is going to go back into their Fray-whoring frenzy, thereby diminishing their novelty all over again.

Now That We Have It....REACTIONS
All right...time for me to come out of the lurkzone. Life in Technicolor II - Love this, although I can't really decide whether or not this should have been the LiT version that made it onto VLV, as while a complete instrumental was a nice opening, I consider this the superior version. Postcards from Far Away - Certainly a nice, brief piece of music. I don't think it stands out too much, though had this worked its way onto VLV, it would have made for a nice "intermission" track in the middle. As it stands, it's certainly a pleasant listen. Glass of Water - Being late to the party, does that mean all the praise for this song has already been lavished? Hell no. Certainly my favorite track on the EP, as well as one of the catchier songs in Coldplay's library, this song blends every element that made me love this band in the first place. Rainy Day - Agreed with the consensus that this is an innovative departure from the Coldplay norm, and I'm letting it grow on me. It may take a while for it to settle among my list of favorites, but I already like it better today than yesterday, with a fun mix-up of instruments. The chorus background is also reminiscent of Viva La Vida (the song). Prospekt's March / Poppyfields - Though short, this strikes me as one of the band's stronger songs lyrically. Strong imagery and metaphors, though the delivery of the "separate sky" bits is what puts this over the top for me. Also good to know that as powerful as their recent styles are, the band can always still fall back on its roots for the same quality. Lost+ - Look, I can totally understand not simply wanting to release this as the single's B-side due to the collab being of a larger scale than perhaps the acoustic version. I guess my main problem with including this on here is the simple fact that I was never a fan of Lost+ when I first heard it, and not much has changed since then. Lovers in Japan (Osaka Sun Mix) - Oh goodie, now I can burn Lovers in Japan onto mixtapes without using another program to slice off Reign of Love. I know that's not hard, but it's still useful. Could have done without this on the EP all the same, though. Now My Feet Won't Touch the Ground - I'm truly debating whether or not I like this better than Til Kingdom Come, which I always felt was an adequate closer but not the best one. I'll give it time. Overall, better than what you would normally get with an EP, keeping up the same quality we received with VLVODAAHF. Even when you take away the two mixes, six quality songs is nothing to scoff at for an EP. That would totally pull the rug out from under everybody if they unexpectedly kicked off with this. I'm seeing Coldplay in Anaheim next week, and while I'm not holding my breath for it, it would completely blow me away if they switched up LiT in order to promote the release of Prospekt's March.
