  1. I hope it's a golden megaphone. Just for the LOLs.
  2. Aww I actually really like Lemonworld. Runaway is the one I could do without on an otherwise-stellar album.
  3. One thing I don't get is why some people (not all) who argue in favor of Coldplay's newest material say that the skeptics and naysayers have expectations that are too high. What, so we should expect F-grade material so that we can be pleasantly satisfied with D-grade material? If Coldplay has put out quality material in the past, there's no reason to be satisfied with something that isn't quality.
  4. Cool, The Joy Formidable is on my planned schedule. Saturday's a really flexible day for me, though I really want to catch the Arctic Monkeys > Foo Fighters transition on Sunday.
  5. So for those who are staying for the full 3 days, what acts are you seeing on Saturday and Sunday? I'd still like to meet some of you on the other days even if I won't be joining in on your Viva-chanting and confetti-snatching.
  6. I will feel much better about Reading/Leeds if Outside Lands spontaneously turns into a full practice rehearsal of OoS. :sneaky:
  7. But Coldplay will probably play "Shiver" and "Everything's Not Lost"! Muse will just play "Undisclosed Desires" again. Speaking of which, my B&H shirt is almost done. Just waiting for the glitter to dry.
  8. Most users on Facebook are sheep who will participate in whatever survey or petition is thrown their way regardless of their knowledge, and will "like" any fan page regardless of how little of a fan they really are. Seeing as how ETIAW is the radio single, I'm not surprised. Horribly depressed, but not surprised.
  9. HAHAHA! NOW YOU KNOW MY PAIN OF EXPECTING TO SEE COLDPLAY THIS YEAR AND HAVING IT SHOVED UP YOUR *ahem* That really sucks, I know how it feels if you couldn't tell. :P I take comfort in knowing that they'll probably play 10 billion arenas next year anyway.
  10. Not to turn this into a Biffy discussion or anything, but judging them based on "Many of Horror" is like judging Coldplay based on VLV or ETIAW.
  11. I view this as a kiss of death. Sorry, Coldplay, you're dead to me.
  12. Never seen Q here either. :/ As for those pics? I love how Chris looks badass, Matt tries to look badass, and Dom just accepts that he's a flamboyant skank.
  13. It's on iTunes now also. I almost went to that show. Instead I decided to see Stars at the very the same venue the very next day. 2011 version of me would have just done both.
  14. The video could be Chris Martin getting repeatedly kicked in the balls by a series of more respectable musicians and I'd still hate the song too much to watch the video more than once. (It sucked a little less than the Viva la Vida video, Ill give it that)
  15. I'll give it this much - it's less boring than the Viva la Vida video. That doesn't mean I'll watch it again, though. The song is still far too irritating.
  16. Don't worry, I voted
  17. 1. Moving to Mars 2. Us Against the World 3. Charlie Brown ---cut off point of where I stop caring--- 4. Hurts Like Heaven 5. Major Minus 6. Imaginary recording of Chris and Jonny having a fart contest into a megaphone 7. Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall Refuse to listen to "Princess of China" until a higher quality version surfaces.
  18. Coldplay albums, especially the last two, have always had recurring themes. That's nothing new. I'm pretty sure over half the songs on X&Y have identical lyrics. (exaggeration but you know what I mean) That doesn't make it a concept album.
  19. I love how a crowd who wasn't even expecting to see Radiohead still knows every lyric, even to the songs from TKoL. I hate our North American crowds.
  20. ^ Does Thom Yorke betray him with a kiss?
  21. Oddly enough, I seriously don't get the love for "Hurts Like Heaven". If we're talking new pop efforts, I like "Charlie Brown" a lot more. It may not be the Coldplay of old, but it's a far more enjoyable pop affair than "Viva la Major Lost Is a Waterfall 42". I didn't catch the live madness yesterday thanks to work, but I caught the broadcast on Palladia later. I actually had a great time watching it...until VLV started and I dozed off for the remainder of it. :P (Transitioning from "Politik" into "Viva la Vida" is like transitioning from sex into a punch in the gut.)
  22. There's at least a few thousand of us in line to marry Alison Mosshart. I think I'm #700-something. I actually really like their latest album. Missed them at Coachella but will see them in September regardless.
  23. The National's live set blew me away. And while Muse is obviously more theatrical, I'd say both are in the upper tiers of stellar live performance. And usually I think "both" is a sissy answer for indecisive people who don't want to pick a side, but I think it's an interesting idea here. Whatever. The losing option still gets done eventually, right?
  24. For all I care, the album could be 35 minutes and I'd still be in favor of this. This is probably correct, everyone. :) The album very well could still be too long, but there was obviously some humor to the exchange.
  25. I saw TDCC live once and thought they were really fun. But yes, BB King as a guest would be welcome.
