I like Chinese Sleep Chant, but I don't like it enough to sit through Yes to get to it. But Chinese Sleep Chant was a little dull live, so I'm not upset that it got dropped early on last tour.

Well written, but I'm actually gonna disagree. Yes, a lot of radio pop these days is devoid of actual vocals or instruments, but that doesn't mean that anything with a real instrument isn't pop. Synths have taken a huge rise in recent years but pop has been around for a very long time, long before auto-tuning and all that. And a song being "deep" (for the record, I love Coldplay but I hardly think their songs have any deep meaning) doesn't make it a rocker. Ignoring the fact that I'm failing to think of a single "insane riff" or "face melting bassline" that Coldplay has, the majority of their singles have a pop vibe to them (with some exceptions like GPASUYF). Note that being pop doesn't make you a commercial sell-out. Lots of great pop artists emerged decades ago with legitimate talent. Unfortunately with ETIAW and Major Minus, I think Coldplay has taken a nod from some of the bad pop habits of the past decade rather than the good ones that made previous pop hits like Yellow and Clocks such a success. I like Charlie Brown, for the record.

I never liked "Lost!" anywhere close to as much as LIJ. In fact, I never liked "Lost!" much at all. That said, LIJ live is a lot more effective with the butterflies, so unless they bring those back, I'm not too devastated. I'd rather they replace "Lost!" with an X&Y track, actually.

It's basically the same set of festival whores that have popped up at every other festival over the past year (is there any festival The Black Keys haven't played?), but at least it's a good batch. Hopefully you east coast fans who were set on going to the New Jersey show can find a way to go to this instead. And $55? It generally costs that much to see just one of those bands.

OMG. I will be seeing Muse in a month from today. And that's 6 days after I'm seeing Muse beforehand. And then I get to see Muse yet again 8 days later. AHHHHHHHH. So yeah, 25 days until I see Muse again, thus marking the end of my hellish 10-month period without seeing Muse. I technically could afford Reading/Leeds, but saving up for a more vast UK trip in a few years involving the next Wembley seems more worth it to me.

The song reminded me of LiT 2 at first, but I think it's better (partially because I've always preferred instrumental LiT). Out of all the pop offerings we've heard so far from this new era, it shines brightest. It's not that great of a title, but it's genius when compared to "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall".

It probably explains why Violet hasn't posted here yet.

I don't see much love for Afraid of Everyone, which may be my favorite on High Violet. Boxer gets better with every listen, though. Even though I had the album before High Violet came out, I never listened to Boxer enough beforehand.

I've heard some rumors about the Darkshines performance at Reading/Leeds which would put an even creepier twist on it. I'm not really at liberty to share (mainly because I'm a flat-out jerk, and if they were false rumors, I'd be an even bigger jerk) but it sounds pretty awesome. 4 weeks from today until my 2011 Muse Marathon kicks off. :D
