  3. Going to Coachella (6 days!), Lollapalooza, and possibly Outside Lands festivals all this year, so I'll probably see a bazillion artists I haven't yet seen. Only two non-festival shows planned at the moment are U2 (Lenny Kravitz opening, meh) and Florence & the Machine, which I've seen before.
  4. Oh wow, that's super amazing of the band for reaching out like that! If things are indeed bleak like you say, then it sounds like this is the kindest thing that could possibly happen. :)
  5. Wow, that's awful. Keeping her in my prayers. If Chris comes on Twitter anytime soon, we should all try to get a shout-out for her.
  6. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HL548cHH3OY]YouTube - Phoenix - 1901 (US Version)[/ame] If this were nearly any other song in existence, I would completely hate it by this point. Fortunately, it's the rare song that still remains awesome no matter how dang overplayed it is.
  7. Umm...July maybe? June or July? I hope it's not August, as Matt won't be around thanks to festivals. I recall reading K was already 4-months pregnant when it was first revealed, and that was several months ago.
  8. I could probably name a number of Coldplay songs, but I'll go with something else... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fFRkpvvop3I]YouTube - The Fray - Over My Head (Cable Car)[/ame] Uh, yeah.
  9. New video with Florence and Isa: SHLOFT.
  10. This. :) Is it a paid internship? If so, even though it shuts down Reading, it could mean a lot more funds for gigs in the future. Even if it isn't paid, at least you still have your standard job as well!
  11. ^ I hope you do too! That Reading/Leeds set sounds like something that won't ever happen again! :awesome:
  12. Guys. I'm officially seeing Muse again this year. :D Lollapalooza ticket-buying was an incredibly frustrating experience, but I was eventually victorious and in good time too, because early birds sold out shortly after I finally secured a purchase. Now for the painful countdown.
  13. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQlCe31_wK0]YouTube - Ellie Goulding - Salt Skin [NEW SONG 2010 + LYRICS!!!][/ame] Actually, most of her stuff is a guilty pleasure. She's everything I'm supposed to hate, and yet I can't hate her.
  14. I find that the majority of artists I listened to a decade ago haven't had much lasting power, and as predictable as it may seem on this site, Coldplay really is the one that I can trace farthest back that I actually still have respect for and will willingly still listen to. Their accessibility is obviously what sold me back when I was still listening to Linkin Park and 3 Doors Down (:laugh3:), and while I don't even listen to Coldplay as much as I did a year ago, their quality has remained mature enough that I'm not ashamed to still listen to them, unlike those other bands from early high school (when I started listening to music beyond just the radio). Then obviously there's timeless bands like The Beatles who have remained pretty consistent, but I have never been a hardcore fan of them to the extent that I am with other bands nowadays. U2 comes probably the closest for me, and I've been listening to them possibly longer than I've been listening to Coldplay (though those were mainly songs on the radio, as I didn't start to really delve into all their material until later). So U2 gets the award for "longest", but I'm going with Coldplay for "longest consistently"
  15. Emily Haines I don't have the immense crush on her that I once did for whatever reason, but she still deserves the first mention here. She can play guitar and keyboard in the band. Florence Welch Because some token ginger goodness is always nice. Also, I love her. Preferable singer of the band, and her drumming skills could be handy as well. Joanna Newsom Her voice isn't for everyone, so she can just play the harp. And when she's not playing the harp, she can just stand there so I can look at her. Having trouble finding a bassist.
  16. Same here. And I was also tempted to go with Green Day, but I like parts of Dookie, so I need to think of a band I hate most everything from...hmmm... GOT IT. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OnuuYcqhzCE]YouTube - Linkin Park - Bleed It Out[/ame] I was admittedly in a lengthy phase where I liked them. Thank goodness I'm over that phase. :P
  17. Apparently they opened with Citizen Erased yesterday. OPENED with Citizen Erased. :bomb: The funny part, of course, is that this was as a U2 support slot, so even though there were probably several Muse fans there (or fans of both bands), CE got played to a bunch of people who have probably never heard a Muse song in their life. I'm avoiding the .mu thread since I imagine they're up in arms over it. I don't blame them for wanting to switch up their support set a bit, but CE? Damn. Several shows and I still need it. And Matt Bellamy? Stop taking hairstyle tips from the hipsters in Silver Lake (non-SoCal residents will not find the humor in this).
  18. Favorite band depends on whether I'm in a down-to-earth mood or a bombastic mood. Basically, I'm as indecisive as anyone else in this thread. Gonna go with some live performances here: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLjrQ3cwzJ4]YouTube - Arcade Fire - We Used to Wait (Unstaged)[/ame] or [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20uDBy3fQQg]YouTube - Muse-Ruled By Secrecy(Absolution Tour)[/ame]
  19. B&H vs. Bliss would have ripped me apart, given how they're my two favorite Muse songs and I seriously switch them each day in terms of which one I love more. But B&H vs. MOTP? Choice is easy. MOTP is still a Top 10 (and indisputably their best post-Absolution song), but B&H is otherworldly incredible.
  20. Matt's tweets are very unpredictable. He gives no indication of when he starts and stops tweeting and can leave a lengthy gap between responses. He seems most likely to respond to gig-related questions (unless you have your bum as your picture, I guess). Bliss. What were the latest results? I need to know so I can complain about them. :laugh3:
  21. OMG I totally forgot it was April Fool's Day tomorrow. Outdoing last year is gonna be hard, although didn't the prank come from the .mu folks and not the band itself? They were pouncing on the constant setlist negativity on the boards about Guiding Light and Feeling Good and turned it on its head. I hope something happens regardless.
  22. Besides Lollapalooza (which Chris has now confirmed, in case anybody still had doubts), there are emerging rumors of Muse playing Outside Lands Festival in San Francisco. Normally one summer festival would be enough for me, but San Francisco is a 6-hour drive for me and would be WAY too tempting. If more rumors start solidifying, chances are I'm there (and even poorer as a result :P). The festival is just 4 days after Lolla, so I could certainly see it happening.
  23. Micro Cuts live would be worth it just to hear the rest of the crowd attempt to sing it. :laugh3:
  24. Awesome, Natt. :D Off to drop people off at the airport, be back in several hours for more Trollamy fun.
  25. Aww, just wait! You do have to be available at the right times, which are admittedly unpredictable. In fact... MICHAEL'S GUIDE TO GETTING A WOLSTENTWEET:
