Coachella To Hold Two Consecutive Weekend Festivals In 2012
I spent all morning imploding about this. Good luck, Goldenvoice, on convincing every one of your performers to halt their tour for a week so they can hang around the desert southwest for the week between their Coachella sets. If I have to blindly choose a weekend (and I'm still undecided on my course of action), I'm going for Weekend #1. I can't imagine the bands will be too enthusiastic by the time that second weekend rolls around.

Coldplay New Era Setlist
Expect this at every show. Okay, lemme lay out a reasonable festival set that would include some nice oldies, but nothing too wildly awesome (like Amsterdam - I would DIE from that): Yellow In My Place Speed of Sound (put this back in the damn setlist, guys) Cemeteries of London Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall God Put a Smile Upon Your Face (finally going back to the REAL version) Lost! (or, preferably, "Lost?") Trouble Talk (again, REAL version) Shiver (acoustic) Til Kingdom Come/Warning Sign/A Message (acoustic, I consider this a wild card slot) Strawberry Swing Clocks Lovers in Japan Viva la Vida Fix You --- Politik The Scientist Don't think we can expect much longer for festivals. Individual headline shows, yes, but not festivals. Was difficult deciding what to drop from Viva, so I looked at the intimate holiday shows for guidance. No Violet Hill or LiT2.

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
If I were to list my top Muse songs, chances are I'd have more heavy stuff than slow stuff, but Blackout, RBS, and SFA all still make my Top 10 (all, coincidentally, are off Absolution).

Saw that a few days ago. Surprisingly decent. Yes, Uprising and SMBH are super boring picks, but any list that includes songs from Showbiz obviously has good intentions.

I think because Coldplay gets a lot of haters, fans have become extremely defensive to even the slightest criticism, even if it's something dumb like Chris's haircut. Amsterdam is still one of my favorite songs ever by anybody. I don't see Coldplay ever writing a better song than that.

Interpol
Same order. Big gap between Antics and self-titled. But although I still don't like the self-titled much, "Lights" is stellar live.

New Coldplay eh?
I've been sticking to my Twitter to mock them. I've posted only a handful snide remarks in the Coldplay section the last few days. Haven't checked up on the responses but I tried not to be too mean. Aw, screw it. HEY, MR. MARTIN? YOUR WORDPLAY ISN'T CLEVER. STOP THINKING YOU'RE CLEVER. YOU MIGHT BE A BIG FISH IN A LITTLE POND? WHERE DID YOU COME UP WITH THAT "BRILLIANCE"? IN YOUR HEAD? THE SAME PLACE WHERE THOSE WHO ARE DEAD ARE NOT DEAD AND ARE LIVING? I do have to congratulate Chris, however, on having the least gay outfit of the four this time. It's still kinda gay. I say this but I'll have the single and album on repeat constantly, then hate it a year later like I did with Viva. Why am I so stupid?

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
Ooh! Can I openly bash Coldplay lyrics and their new outfits in this thread? They don't seem to like me doing that in the Coldplay forum. Don't know why. My opinion of "Clocks is an amazing song even though its lyrics don't mean squaddly shit, and also, 42 is lyrically braindead" is just as poignant as someone else's take of "Lost is brilliance! Big fish in a little pond? Lyrical genius! Who would ever contrast 'big' to 'little' like our savior, Mr. Martin?" So yeah, "I'd rather be a comma than a full stop" is some of the stupidest wordplay ever. And I've still only read the first few verses of ETIAW.

Green pants. Didn't catch them at first, but they're what put him ahead of Chris in the "fruity fashion factor" in my book.

Are you going to take time off school/work on Friday to listen to Coldplay's single?
REALLY!?!?:awesome::D I mean...uh... Really? :o:shocked2::cry: No way in hell am I waking up at 3am (when the single will be played here), so hopefully it will die down before I wake up. I'm not staying up until 3am either, since if I do, I won't be able to sleep quickly after listening to the single.

New Fashion
I can't believe it, but Chris actually looks the least fruity of the 4. But after seeing those freaking Grammy jackets in 2009, anything remotely less blinding gets a pass in my book.

I work an evening shift, so I can easily listen all morning and afternoon, then blare it in the car on the way to work (assuming it doesn't suck and that I'm not embarrassed by it :P).

Aaaaaaaaaand it's all "a load of bollocks", straight from the Beast's own Twitter.

Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall (OUT THIS FRI(ROW)/SAT (UK)!!) - [Walking Man and Videos + GIFs + Scre
I'm 95% sure that I'm 80% positive of the 99% odds that a new single will 65% chance be released soon with a 51% margin of error and in the 40% case that I'm incorrect then I'd give a 33% chance that I will burn 44% of my belongings including 78% of my ass which is where I pull 100% of my made-up statistics out of. Also, I waited for over 2100 posts to be posted in this thread before I decided to contribute something completely useless. Needless to say, my uselessness was well overdue.

Ellie Goulding
Haha, I didn't mean any hard feelings by that, of course. I'm sure you hate a song that I like. ;)

Ellie Goulding
Funny how the only way to hear "Don't Panic" at a live show these days is to hear it as a cover. :laugh3: "The Writer" is probably my least favorite song from her, honestly. Just feels like a cheesy pop ballad that lacks the punch of her other songs. :\

@Vivacrew // Other live tweeters
Will there be a name change once LP5 finally gets a name? BTW, I'm one of the useless people who refuses to tweet during concerts. :P

Coldplay New Era Setlist
I've already accepted the notion that I'm probably never going to hear "Sparks" live. PROVE ME WRONG, SETLIST GODS.

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
Haha, when most people think of college students drinking, they think of them at a frat house playing drinking games and watching stupid movies and making out with strangers. Me? I just chat with friends online and send stupid nonsense to one of my favorite bands. It seems that I was still spelling most words right, though. Indicative of "could've been way drunker".

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
LOL, I drunk tweeted the hell out of Muse, Matt, Chris, and Dom A last night. :laugh3: 62 days until I see Muse again. :bomb:

Coldplay New Era Setlist
^ Is "Lost!" really good enough to play twice? There are certain "safe" songs thanks to immense popularity, and then there's some we can expect to be rotated. Not everything from the Viva tour will survive ("42", for instance, is probably toast). Still, I'd better damn well continue to get "Politik" at every show I go to. :whip:

Are you guys ready?
KILLJOY TIME!:awesome::dance: I'm not ready. I enjoy watching Coldplayers scream and squirm with every tidbit of mindless speculation and cryptic blogs when nothing ever happens. It's funny as hell. Okay, that wasn't 100% serious, but the next part is. I'll no doubt be stoked once something actually arrives. But I have no expectation of a definitive release date, nor am I getting myself caught up in the hype. I haven't even watched any of these new "lyrics" videos because I watched the first one once and basically said, "Screw this, I'll let the rest of Coldplaying try to solve this puzzle for me." And you know what? It's worked out pretty well. Apparently I can waddle through thousands of posts of speculation if I'm ever curious. If a single is released soon, then awesome! But if it's not, I won't care.
