Alas, turns out they are merely 30-second clips, but it's better than nothing! "Dear Friends" preview is available now! Personally, I don't like playing preview clips more than once or twice because they sort of distract when I'm finally listening to the songs in full. But it won't be too long until we finally do hear the full thing! :)

If you don't mind spamming your friends/followers on FB/Twitter, you can help "unlock" tracks from the new album for streaming: http://www.buildarocketboys.com/ Or, if you do mind spamming them (like me), you can just wait for everyone else to do it and they'll be unlocked for everyone anyway. :P
  3. I just introduced one of my classmates, who is a big Muse fan but hasn't heard the non-album tracks - to Dead Star. I believe this makes me a good samaritan. Also, Prague is the worst Muse song ever. Well of course, USoE certainly takes Bohemian Rhapsody as its inspiration. One great live performance..kinda hard to choose just one. I'll give you the following but I could easily provide more if you want: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7W2jXFSpjf8]YouTube - Stockholm Syndrome (live at Rock AM) 2004[/ame]
  4. I have had probably 10 Facebook friends post that Single Ladies video. Funny as it is, I'm getting slightly irritated at seeing it pop up everywhere. After a few full-length listens yesterday, I found myself finally picking specific songs to listen to when I didn't feel like running through the full album, and doggone Codex really has me hooked. GUTG may be the closest this album gets to a "Reckoner" (and it's an amazing song at that), but I'm always a sucker for piano. Regarding the short length, I suppose I can understand if Radiohead kept it at 8 because they feel it's the only way it would have flowed well and if the other tracks would have felt out-of-place. Still, I'd like to see more studio equivalents of new tracks that have been performed live, and I think we'll get them in some fashion eventually, even if it's not another album.
  5. In this case, seating and standing ARE the same price. Every ticket for this venue cost the same, no matter how good or bad the seat is. It's not usually that way for most venues in the U.S., but this is an example of an exception. I know, weird, but just trust me on this one. Here is a snippet of their e-mail: In the Los Angeles Greek Theater, your seat will be either in the GA Pit or front of Section A. Your seating for this concert will be assigned by the theater, and you will receive your specific seat when you pick up your ticket at the will call on the day of the show. But enough about my mysterious seating details. :laugh3: "Swimming" is definitely another favorite of mine. :)
  6. Feral is going to be a tricky song to get into, and probably one that ends up working better within the flow of the album rather than as an individual song. (I feel that way about several Radiohead songs, actually) That and Morning Mr Magpie are the only two I'm not keen on at the moment.
  7. Codex and Give Up the Ghost are currently neck-and-neck for me, although Separator is closing in fast. Long story short, the album steadily improves from beginning to end. Gonna vote Codex.
  8. That's the thing - I don't know if I'm sitting or standing, and I won't know until I get my ticket. The standing section is the small GA pit up front. The seated areas are all behind that. I found myself humming "Hardest of Hearts" this morning. Any opinions on what Florence's best non-Lungs song is?
  9. Yeah. Pretty dumb. I mean, apparently I'm guaranteed a close view, but I can't say I won't be extremely disappointed if I'm not in GA. She's exploded in popularity here, but yes, Ticketmaster's handling of these things is often bull, and then you have the tickets that are handed out to scalping organizations, thereby reducing the pool even further. Really sorry about that. I like when artists handle sales through their own websites and such as to spare their fans Ticketmaster's methods, as my experience with TM is rarely a positive one. By "the boys", I assume you mean Coldplay, and they can probably alleviate things GA-wise if they make more space GA rather than dedicating a small section of the floor to the pit and having most of the floor seated like they did last tour. I wasn't a fan of my Coldplay floor-seated experience.
  10. Curses, I was right about Night 2 being announced in LA, but I didn't expect them to go on sale immediately as Night 1 sold out and without any prior notice. Guess I'll have to live with only seeing her on the first night. She's playing Bonnaroo, but I have a sliver of hope she ends up playing Lollapalooza, as I already have travel plans for that. Then again, she's already playing Chicago in June and you have that whole business about festival proximity clauses, so I don't have high hopes for that. But seeing how quickly the LA show sold out, I am now extremely glad I pounced on that presale, even if it was way more expensive. Their e-mail response to me says I'm guaranteed either GA or a spot in the very front seated section, but I won't find out until the day of the show. Arrgh, the massive suspense! :bomb: Hope the rest of you U.S. fans were able to get tickets!
  11. Those who have pegged the second half as superior are on the money, though maybe the second half is just more accessible at first. I dunno, I still liked Bloom and Little By Little, but I'm not sold on Morning Mr. Magpie and Feral yet. Granted, such is normal for Radiohead, and passing judgment on one listen is a trap that I'm seeing a lot of people fall into (though not necessarily on here). If you'll excuse me, I'm off to listen to this thing another half-dozen times today. Track-by-track thoughts will come once I can properly digest it all.
  12. Woohoo, kick some ass, Briggins! Voted again. I admit I don't remember to vote every day, but we'll try our best to pull you across the finish line.
  13. Damn, my one day I get to sleep in and I miss all the excitement. Just finished listening to "Bloom" for the first time. This is something I want to enjoy throughout the day, so I'll probably be back a lot later with my thoughts.
  14. Are we implying that Coldplay Nation deserves to be its own country? Because I'd totally be down for that as long as I'm guaranteed some executive position. Secretary of Butterflies sounds like a good one.
  15. "Taco" is a Spanish word. Spanish 'A' is pronounced "aw" in every case I can think of. So I think our pronunciation wins. :P I, for one, support changing this topic's title to "The Taco Thread", since we all clearly dislike Muse and their personal decisions regarding setlists, sex, and attire.
  16. It's only personal if the insult is directed personally. For instance, "Coldplay sucks!" is a whole lot different than "You're a douchetard for liking Coldplay!" The former doesn't irk me, but the latter is obviously an attack at the person. Granted, it works indirectly as well, as even though I rarely have someone tell me that, I often see and hear similar things directed at different people. That said, I admittedly have little right to complain. I give crap to Nickelback and Black Eyed Peas and their fans fairly frequently (Facebook is the best place for this because people are perfectly open about sharing their love of those bands on FB), so it's a vicious cycle.
  17. Is it sad that I actually just double-checked to make sure I was a fan of Coldplay on Facebook? Turns out I am, but I think I actually have their updates turned off (I have Twitter for the same thing, after all).
  18. I did one on Sing for Absolution years ago. I got an A on that paper, but I quickly learned that Muse's lyrics really don't mean much at all. That includes Uprising and whatever other song Matt feels has any sort of message. Yeah, that one. I have a few friends who turn NSC into the butt of every joke. One of their birthdays is coming up...I should gift them one of those shirts. :laugh3: (Except they may not be my friend anymore afterward)
  19. Damn, you can get the Exo shirt at Hot Topic now, I assume? Curses. I felt special by having one and now I no longer feel special since vampire tweens now have access to one at their local mall. :veryangry2:
  20. Neutron Star Collision shirts are now available on eBay and Amazon. :laugh3::laugh3::laugh3: I almost want to drive to Hot Topic after class today and see if they have one. I'd never wear it, of course, but I seriously want one just to say I have one. :laugh3:

I assume it will be released a few days later. Albums are generally released on Tuesdays in the U.S. Besides, lots of bands have started streaming their new albums for free recently (usually shortly after they leak) so hopefully Elbow does that too.
  22. Oh snap, Ticketmaster just removed the listing for the second LA show! :stunned: I have a feeling I saw something I wasn't supposed to see! :laugh3: I assume they'll throw it back up once the first night sells out, which it obviously will very quickly. BTW, today's spontaneous pre-sale sold out a few hours ago, which makes me feel a lot better about my impulsive purchase.
  23. I was hoping to get a footie game from Chris in L.A. (since he promised one last time but had to cancel) and I even bugged him about both on Twitter and in his letter, but I guess he's going back to the family already. Oh well. Hopefully Matt and Dom get their stuff and they can have a laugh about everything people said about Chris (which was mostly stuff like "Nice ass", though obviously I didn't write that :laugh3::dozey:).
  24. Yeah, the ticket confirmation didn't specify what type of seating it was, but I'm hoping for GA. The GA pit at this venue is actually very tiny, but the place is really pretty and has a lovely forest-like setting. And it shall be my second time seeing her. The first time was what turned me from "loyal fan" into "hardcore obsessed fanboy". EDIT: Second LA date announced already? That was quick. Hmm...dare I go for both nights? I'll give it some thought.
  25. Digital download MP3. I'm not the biggest Radiohead collector in the room, nor am I super concerned about file quality (320 MP3 does the trick for me), so I went for the simplest option that will land this sucker on my computer immediately when it's available.
