Elbow
At the moment I'm more annoyed about Neat Little Rows not being available in North America in any digital store (iTunes, Amazon, etc.). Apparently it won't be released here as a single until the day the album is released, which makes no sense at all.

When do you think LP5 will come out?
Lemme back up a bit to the "no new songs" tidbit real quickly...even if it turns out to be a bunch of tabloid junk, I really can't foresee them playing more than a couple new songs, anyway. If your entire audience is unfamiliar with much of your material, they won't be into your show very much. I remember they played "Glass of Water" a few times before PM's release, but that was just one new song, which was perfectly okay in my mind since it doesn't break up the flow or audience connection too much. Say what you want about Coldplay playing a bunch of AROBTTH before its release, but that was before Coldplay really had a large and established backlog of material. But at the same time, I would hope that they don't merely repeat the Viva setlists. Tracks like Trouble and Shiver were played again at the intimate December gigs, and they can probably incorporate some other oldies that were dropped during the Viva tour (all of which would make me insanely jealous of everyone there, of course :P). As for the Oracle reaffirming the pushed-back release, I sort of accepted this earlier with locust's post, but I guess this is another nudge for those who were holding out on more official word. I think what some of you guys are upset about is the fact that we've gotten so many different answers on when the thing will finally be released, even from the band members themselves, that it's become a huge tease game. That's perfectly understandable to maybe be a little frustrated about, but with the band coming out of the woodwork for these festivals, at least you know they're not just dawdling around. It takes a bit for bands to get "back in the swing" of touring, anyway, so hopefully their performance can be in tip-top shape once they're ready to debut the new material live (though I'm sure the festivals will still be quite dandy with the old material, too!). (I'm usually the pessimist with these types of things, but I'm playing a bit of role-reversal here :))

Broken Social Scene
I live in the small beach town of Ventura that features a small theater of 1000-person capacity which occasionally hosts concerts. The catch? The artists they book usually hit their prime in 1975 or earlier, or are merely otherwise local bands trying to gain exposure. Long story short, I almost never have a reason to go. Imagine my surprise just now when I found out they booked BSS in April. It's three days after their Coachella set, of course, but even though I'm going to Coachella, this makes me feel a lot better since I know that the day they're playing the festival will be full of the most schedule conflicts for me.

Florence + The Machine
They never dedicate too much time to musical performances at the Oscars, and the other three nominated songs were also held brief (and yet they let Natalie Portman ramble for 5 minutes in her acceptance speech ). Still, a lovely performance. Oh, and there's also this: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUkq54Jq58Q]YouTube - Oscars 2011: Florence and the Machine & Mandy Moore[/ame] "You're performing If I Rise, another one of your songs." Not her song, dude.

When do you think LP5 will come out?
All I know is that I forgot what derivatives and integrals were since I conveniently left that knowledge at the door once I took my final math class. :P Instead I now fill my brain with such useless trivia as Coldplay lyrics and what Will Champion likes for breakfast. Gotcha, makes sense now. :)

When do you think LP5 will come out?
You probably mean just over. Viva was released in June 2008. ;) It's funny, I haven't really been in a Coldplay mood since 2009. Christmas Lights tried to drag me back in, but it wasn't enough. I haven't listened to a single Coldplay album from start-to-finish in some time. The most exposure I get to them these days is if one of their songs comes up on shuffle (and sometimes I'll even skip it, eep!). I don't anticipate this changing until we get a firm release date for LP5, but I'm excited to be excited again, if that makes any sense in the slightest.

I will do a cover of a Coldplay song if you help me LAST DAY TO VOTE!
I think I've actually remembered to vote 3 days in a row now. Is Top 10 the final round? (Also, Arcade Fire's website kinda sucks, but so do a lot of official band sites.) As for the rest of you...what Coldplay song would you say features the most difficult falsetto? :P

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
Apparently someone on .mu spoke to Morgan after the NME awards and he gave further "confirmation" about Reading, so there ya go. :) Also, I've watched that drunk Matt/Dom interview numerous times by now and it never gets any less entertaining.

When do you think LP5 will come out?
GA pits in arenas have varied from artist to artist for me. For instance, I saw Coldplay in an arena in Anaheim and only the very front section of the floor was GA. Two years later, I saw Muse in the exact same arena, and the entire floor was GA. Personally, I prefer the latter, not just because of the queue (It's fun! You meet lots of awesome people, which is especially useful for saving your spot when you run to the bathroom!), but also because of ticket availability. I still haven't experienced Coldplay GA thanks to such a limited amount available. Plus, being seated on the floor sucks. Nobody moves around because of the restrictive nature (Coldplay show at Home Depot Center, I'm looking at YOU.). And I'd probably be more bitter about October if it weren't my birthday month. I'm also kinda thankful they (probably) aren't touring North America before then, because if they are to debut any new material, nobody will know it.

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
Whoa, Matt has been getting some sun. As for Dom, that pic just reaffirms my belief that he gets no protein ever. Biffy winning Best Live Band doesn't bother me since I just happen to be seeing them next week, so I'm just more excited now. Then again, I think Muse also lost last year. (and to Arctic Monkeys) EDIT: ^ Hahahaha.

Biffy Clyro
Apparently they just won Best Live Act at the NME awards. This is good news for me because I just so happen to have tickets to their now-sold-out show in 6 days. Also, I've listened to all their songs since I last posted, which was back when I was a Biffy newcomer. Still don't know most of their lyrics, so it's cram session time.

Even though South America has gotten amazing stuff in the past (like Dead Star night after night :bomb:), I wouldn't hold my breath for anything super-amazing this time around given their support act role. Not only is that less than half the time of a standard gig, but you have to remember that South America hasn't even heard any of The Resistance tracks live yet.

There may have been one or two tracks I might have cut from The Suburbs, but for the most part I think it avoids dragging on needlessly. (You also have to remember that "The Suburbs (Continued)" is merely a brief outro piece) It obviously shouldn't have been any longer, but I'm actually curious as to what didn't quite make the cut, especially in an age where fewer artists are releasing B-sides (pretty sure they even declared the B-side "dead" in an interview). I've heard some things about a possible deluxe edition being released in the future with more music, but I have yet to actually see any official word on the matter.
