"Coldplay: Glastonbury 2011" to be shown in cinemas (cancelled?): Latest loc are via GlastonburyHD.c
This is my first time reading about this. No, I don't check the Coldplay section of this forum often. Too much LP5 silliness for me to want to have to glance at. :laugh3: Anyway, I looked up local showings, and I'm shocked at the lack of any theaters showing it in the vicinity of Hollywood, LA, or San Fernando Valley (and unsurprisingly, there's no showings in my little suburban corner either). Nearest one is Alhambra, so I fully expect more to appear later, as that would be a really obnoxious drive for me. When Foo Fighters had their documentary screenings a couple months ago, there were at least 5 theaters in Hollywood/Downtown LA alone showing it, so I'm not worried.

2011 Live Shows in Online
Lollapalooza has a webcast every year, although in the past, it's not only shown only specific artists each day, but they generally don't show headliners at all. :\ I hope they change that this year, but luckily, that's the one Coldplay-featuring festival I'll happen to actually be at this year. I love webcast watching/listening parties, though. Way more fun than watching setlist tweets slowly roll in.

NBA PLAYOFFS 2011
Damn, was hoping for Thunder/Bulls, but at this point, I was on the "Anyone But Miami" bandwagon. Hey Mavs, can you please annihilate Miami? Not like '06? I hate Mark Cuban and all, but I hate pretty much everyone associated with the Heat, so he's the lesser evil here.

Death Cab For Cutie!
I think "Underneath the Sycamore" and "St. Peter's Cathedral" were the two that remotely caught my attention, but those weren't until almost the end. I actually didn't like "Meet Me on the Equinox", but I thought most of Narrow Stairs was good and that they were heading down an interesting path with that album that was a little different and darker but retained the core Death Cab sound. This one tosses the whole book out the window.

Death Cab For Cutie!
Don't like it. :( I hated the lead single but was hoping it wasn't representative of the rest of the album. Will listen to it some more times to see if anything jumps out at me, but this may be my biggest disappointment so far in 2011. I still haven't seen these guys live, though. Every damn time they pass through here (which is frequently) I always ponder buying a ticket and then don't buy it. Likewise, they just sold out 3 shows here for the summer and I didn't buy a ticket.

Arcade Fire
"Speaking in Tongues" is a nice song, though I can see why it was left off the album, especially since some people already criticize The Suburbs' length. Didn't think David Byrne added too much. "Culture War" is really awesome, though. Already listened to it 3 times and going back for more.

Unlike UD, "United States of Eurasia" actually translates extremely well live. I didn't care for it when I first heard it after that whole treasure hunt thing, but there's something that's freaking awesome/hilarious about thousands of people fist-pumping to "SIA! SIA! SIA! SIA!" I think the album takes an immense upswing after the first 5 tracks. Once they get the poppier songs and the outright sucky songs out of the way, it's really solid from "Unnatural Selection" onward.

LMAO. As someone who also nearly died from Bliss, I got Undisclosed Desires immediately after, so that gave me four nice minutes where I could calm down until they played something that was actually good. Now watch, this time I pissed off a fan of UD.

That's what I said before my first Muse show, since I would be happy with anything at my first show. Then they played it. It was brutal. Thankfully, the zetas have smiled upon me and I haven't had to put up with it at a single show since. We'll see if I stay that lucky in a few months. :P

Our lurk will be forever And when we spy, we'll spy together Creep, don't we ever Because our lurk will be forever (Same setlist today as previous gig + Guiding Light. Can't tell if that makes it a better or worse gig.)

The Vaccines are opening for all of Arctic Monkeys' North American dates. I didn't get tickets to AM's local headline show, though, since both bands will be at both Lolla and OSL. I still need to listen to The Vaccines' album. ;) And I know new Arctic Monkeys has leaked, but I haven't listened to that yet either. As for that Megalomania video, I was jaw-dropped the moment I saw that thing go up on Youtube. :shocked2:

IKR? Miraculously, .mu is discovering innovative ways to complain about it. :laugh3::facepalm: I'd better damn well get some of these Origin rarities this summer, though.

[5-Aug-2011] Coldplay @ Lollapalooza Festival, Chicago
The 6th is the Saturday. ;) Likewise, a lot of speculation toward Muse on Friday.

[16-Sept-2011] Coldplay @ Austin City Limits Festival, Zilker Park, Austin, Texas
I'll be festival-hopping around the country this summer, but the fact that ACL occurs after school starts up again means it's out of the question for me. Kind of a shame, as even though I'll have seen most of these acts at other festivals (except Elbow...had to miss them at Coachella and I really want to see them), it's still a really solid lineup overall. Hope everyone going has a blast, though!

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
I hadn't listened in at least a few days either, but I just got home after 4 hours in the car and was blasting Muse the whole way. :D I also realized I don't listen to Hullabaloo often enough.

Chris and Gwenyth at Kings Of Leon Wedding
I think they mean "San Ysidro Ranch", not "Ysidor". That place is like 20 minutes north of where I live. Good for Caleb, I guess, though I'm not a KOL fan.

^ Awesome! :) I don't graduate til next year either, dunno if that was clear or not. :P I technically should have graduated this year, but I switched out of my original program after two years and basically started new, so I'm taking a while longer. Anyway, a bit off topic, but I finally got a Tumblr. I know most of us are Twitter buddies, but now I feel the need to Tumblr with everyone, mainly because I have no freaking idea how the hell the thing works. :laugh3: http://synapseslipping.tumblr.com/

This is the way I see it - It's my final year before I graduate, meaning it's my final year where I actually have spare time to do cool stuff like this. Sure, I'll have more money once I've graduated and start full-time working, but I won't have the liberty to do whatever the hell I want with my money and time. That's why I'm knocking everything I can out this year while also thanking the heavens that I've saved up. Heck, I could probably go to that Indiana show if I wanted to, but I'm sick of changing my Lolla flight plans by this point, so I'll live. And though you've probably noticed, what I'm doing is still incredibly tame compared to many Musers. :P *is glancing in direction of friends who stalked them all around Europe and around North America last year*

LA Rising ticket has been purchased. Why hello there, 3 more Muse shows in 2011. :D And I'll get that dang recording up soon, I promise. I'm in finals this week, but I'll try anyway.

Awww...love actually hearing you guys! Your voice sounds cool, Natt, especially to someone from across the pond. Violet, your accent's pretty subtle. I have a classmate from Texas who has a much more emphasized accent. I'll record one soon. It'll probably be a webcam recording because I'm fully used to recording embarrassing stuff on webcam by this point.

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
O hi Muse thread. Haven't posted in you in two whole weeks. http://kroq.radio.com/2011/05/09/l-a-rising-july-30-2011-l-a-coliseum-rage-against-the-machine-muse-rise-against-and-more/ Yeah, I'd probably end up getting killed at that show. Extremely unsafe location + bloodthirsty Rage fans + unpredictable crowd for rappers + being forced to sit through Rise Against. But Muse is playing, meaning if I die, I want "DEATH BY BASS" engraved somewhere.

Ellie Goulding
I definitely like her. Certainly preferable to much of the modern pop world. She's just starting to gain traction here in the States, though I saw her at Coachella last month and was pleasantly surprised at how nearly everyone knew her material. Let it also be known that "Your Biggest Mistake" is one of the catchiest songs in recent memory.

NBA PLAYOFFS 2011
Jumped ship at Game 2. Have no idea why the hell everyone was waiting for Game 3. So yeah, I'm gonna root for the Thunder now. That's good news for the Thunder since they actually have an out-of-town fan now.

[5-Aug-2011] Coldplay @ Lollapalooza Festival, Chicago
Hahaha, yeah, it's me. :P Nice seeing you here too! I actually visit Coldplaying more often than I visit .mu :laugh3: (The Lolla Skype sorta died out, but I still Skype regularly with a lot of people going. You're always welcome to join in.)
