New Coldplay eh?
Crowds like "WHOA's". Just look at any crowd during the VLV tour. This set of "WHOA's", of course, isn't nearly as infectious. See what you made me do just now, Coldplay? You actually made me compliment "Viva la Vida" so that I could further insult your latest song. :laugh3:

[3-June-2011] Rock im Park: Nürnberg, Germany [possible setlist and first YouTube videos in 1st post
Hehehe, I think the We Are Scientists tweet was a joke anyway. They're just being cheeky with it now. :laugh3: Now that I'm done ragging on the new single, I'm ready to follow any setlist tweets that come in during their shows, just like old times. Do we know of any people who will be tweeting at this particular one, though? Or will we have to wait until something is posted once the gig is over?

New Coldplay eh?
"Just Say Yes" at least has a decent hook. Not my favorite SP song by a longshot but is catchier than ETIAW. I finally braved the murky depths of the Coldplay section (our sworn nemesis to the north who I believe is plotting nuclear war) and there seems to be a lot of arguments about how because it's the lead single, it's supposed to be peppy and poppy. Obviously people don't remember Shiver, which was also a lead single.

Singles can still be amazing. Shiver was a single. In fact, it was the LEAD single. It's one of my favorite songs ever. This isn't Shiver.

Listened to it 4 times, gave it a 4. Does that mean if I listen to it 10 times, I'll give it a 10? :D Nah.

Interpol
^ They actually don't play too much off the latest album. Maybe 5 tracks. Their sets are still pretty TOTBL-heavy, which is what most people want to hear.

Legend has it that the Coldplay section is defensive when it comes to saying something negative about the band. Okay, whatever, here goes. I gave it a 4. That was nice. It might be a 2 or 3 in comparison with Coldplay's overall catalog, even though "Viva la Vida or Death and Blah Blah Blah" was hit-and-miss for me. I gave it a little nudge because if it's anything like "Viva la Vida" (the song), it has live potential, especially since Chris's voice isn't very pure in this studio version. Whether this is the biggest single to come out of the next album may not be relevant, though. Yeah, "Violet Hill" wasn't released so far in advance before the album, but I ended up liking it better than probably half the album, and better than VLV too. But most songs on the album didn't sound like "Violet Hill" at all. But I could be in denial about this just because I'm so disappointed in this lead single. EDIT: Damn, that was WAY LESS mean than I intended it to be.

New Coldplay eh?
The song was totally worth all the anticipation and it reassured my high hopes for the album. Yes, it was a change of direction, but I heard a lot of promise. Oh wait, that was Violet Hill's pre-LP release. Yeah, fuck this.

Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall (OUT THIS FRI(ROW)/SAT (UK)!!) - [Walking Man and Videos + GIFs + Scre
I'm going to bed soon. When I wake up in about 10 hours, I expect this thread to be at least a thousand posts longer. And yeah, I'll probably listen to the single. Because, you know, I've only been anticipating future material since 2008. Hoping for the best in the morning, and the good news is that by the time I finally wake up, Coldplay.com and Coldplaying will both have died down from the inevitable server meltdowns that occur upon the song's release.

Translation: "I give up, Violet. Your posts are too well-constructed and thought-provoking for me to properly combat. I concede to your greatness." Also, I'm sorry I missed this feud. Just got off work. One more thing - I brought this up way back when early song titles were being rumored for LP5, but if the song were simply titled "Teardrops", it would probably be getting less flack in its pre-release state. Parachutes had simple song titles. They work.

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
You guys are my Wolstenhomies. It's 70 bucks for the lousy seats. The good seats and the floor are $100, and that's not including service fees. Muse's arena shows last year were around 70 bucks, but this is a bit more since it's a multiple-band set. BTW, I'm Michael. I'm in the LA area too. :)

NBA PLAYOFFS 2011
DAMN I MISSED IT Just got home from work. I wanted to see the epic Miami choke. :(

New Coldplay eh?
Ooh, I always forget that Glass of Water exists. It's poppy, but it's better than much of its brethren off Viva. Chinese Sleep Chant is better than the first portion of Yes, but I recall it being a snoozer live. What's your take on Cemeteries of London, though? For all the negativity I've shown VLVODAAHF in this thread, I think CoL is one of the few that really holds up well 3 years later.

New Coldplay eh?
Coldplay just wants everybody to get along. They want to create world peace. They wish for a planet without conflict and pollution. They want to preserve endless flowery fields of rainbows and unicorns for future generations. So yeah, if you hate one of their songs, you're essentially supporting war and evildoers. You may now return to your regularly scheduled program of "Name your least favorite Coldplay song and prepare for the backlash of butthurt people". On that note, "Yes" is a horrible song.

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
Our love is forever  I hope we don't die together, though. That'd be weird. EDIT: I should tweet that haha. Haha, I'm back to hating it now. But I will confirm that no amount of alcohol can make Prague good. Can't speak for drugs. I don't do them and don't plan on doing them. :) It's not a big deal. I think I told you guys how awful my 21st birthday was, so I stayed away from drinks for 6 months after. So I've only been drinking for like a year now.

The 2011 Live Countdown Thread - Its today!!!
I don't like bananas. :( So basically I'll just have to die or something. Luckily I've never had a dizziness problem at a concert or festival. I wish anyone who's going tomorrow the best of luck when it comes to downloading the new song on your phone while at the festival and playing it through your earbuds loudly between acts so that you have enough time to memorize as much of the lyrics as possible before Coldplay goes on. ;) Fellow Californian! Which festival are you going to? Each one has a slightly different atmosphere from the next.

Coldplay bumper sticker in new Foo Fighters video
Laughed out loud when I saw that. Then I thought, "I wonder if Coldplaying will take this well." Pleasantly surprised that they are. :) Seriously, though, I dare Coldplay to make a music video this awesome.

Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall (OUT THIS FRI(ROW)/SAT (UK)!!) - [Walking Man and Videos + GIFs + Scre
The song will first be heard less than 18 hours from now. I still don't plan on waking up tomorrow any earlier than 24 hours from now. :laugh3:

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
I looooooooooooove you guys <3<2<3 Violet, Natt, Chrstina, Kelly, Cecilia, all of you guysssssss <3 Also, because my work told me not to come in today because my supervirsor was sick, I lied to myself and ended up drinking again, more than last night5. Guiding Light is suddenly a good song :P

Foster The People
Pleasantly surprised at how quickly these guys have emerged into the spotlight. I actually never liked "Pumped Up Kicks", but then I heard the other tracks on their EP and loved them. Haven't given the full-length LP a spin yet, but this is a band to watch. LA's given the world tons of good bands but also some that were just plagues. Foster's the most exciting one in a while.

The Strokes
The Strokes are playing at KROQ Weenie Roast this weekend, and while I wasn't keen on enough of the lineup to get a ticket, there will be a live webcast of the entire show on Saturday. It starts at 2pm PST and The Strokes begin at 7:30pm PST. They should get 40 minutes to play (KROQ events feature rotating stages so there's no downtime between acts). http://kroq.radio.com/2011/05/31/kroq-weenie-roast-2011-webcast-set-times-rules-and-more/ The webcast should appear at that link on Saturday.

@Vivacrew // Other live tweeters
You're not alone. Pulling out my phone when a song starts is probably the very last thing on my mind at a concert. For as much as we appreciate the people who do tweet setlists, you aren't REQUIRED to tweet. :P After all, as long as we have one or two people to depend on per show, the rest can just enjoy and not worry about it. :)

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
NME hates Fleet Foxes. Amidst an endless sea of NME sins, that one trumps them all. Seriously, after Dom shoved that NME trophy up his nose, I wish he lodged it up some NME executives' asses.
