The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
Congrats on the 20,000th post of the thread! :awesome: And congrats to all the spammers and fangirls who made it all possible! Baby's obviously gonna look like this, BTW:

Woohoo! Nice job filling up 12 minutes when we're so short on news, I must say (and the jokes and wisecracks help inject some personality into it). For whatever reason, I thought the jumpy cuts were less distracting this time around, so good job on editing. And by golly, that is the creepiest close-up of Chris I've ever seen. You MUST continue using that. As a self-proclaimed Skyping fiend, I would love to join, but this is where I anticipated time zone differences would be tricky. Not only am I on the west coast of the U.S. (GMT minus 8 or 9 hours), but Wednesday is my first day of the new semester and I don't have too many free hours when I'm not in class. But if I can get the information on proper times and contacts, maybe something can work out. :)

Awesome! I know editing is definitely time-consuming (I speak as someone currently in a video internship), so cheers! Definitely looking forward to viewing the final product!

the delays
These guys have some great stuff. I was actually really disappointed they had to cancel opening for Stars. I mean, the replacement support act we got was actually REALLY good (Geographer - check 'em out!), but I wouldn't pass up a chance to see Delays another time if they ever decide to headline stateside.

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
Oh seriously, how dare Matt be entitled to a family like the rest of those dweebs. (I think a lot of it is stemming from Kate hatred, or "katred", but that doesn't make it right. But hey, a lot of Coldplay fans still haven't gotten the Gwyneth hatred off their chests, so this is probably just the tip of the iceberg.) If I ever had a stalking opportunity, I'd probably be overly apologetic and all like, "OMG I'm SO SORRY if I'm annoying you but you're SUPER awesome and I TOTALLY understand if you don't have time for a picture and I TOTALLY apologize if I'm being a bother..."

There are Disney parks all over the world, so you never know. I saw some people trying to ask him in a tweet, but he didn't respond. If it was Disneyland, though, you'd better believe I would be in full stalker mode. (even though I'd feel bad for interrupting his family getaway)

Elbow
Neat Little Rows is alright, but I definitely like Lippy Kids better (really looking forward to the studio version of that one). But hey, as an easily accessible lead single, Neat Little Rows still has a catchy beat to it.

Today was a great day for puns, many of which were hilarious and many more of which were God-awful. "I wonder how the bedroom acoustics were" is pretty great, though, mainly because it doesn't try too hard. Night! (I'll be on much later since I'm off to a basketball game.)

They should just name the damn kid Howard, mainly because seeing the name "Howard Bellamy" would amuse me in a totally non-BellDom-related way (except sort of :P). If it's a girl, then it ruins everything, and they'll just name her Cydonia or some crap like that.

Knowing Matt, he'll name him/her after some fictional alien race's planet's moon's lizard population's ancestor's supernatural creator's universe's center galaxy's brightest star's explosion. WITH LASERS.

Biffy Clyro
I bought Biffy tix for March 1st. :D Oh crap, now I have to actually learn their songs. :laugh3:

Matt gained a few inches and lost tons of weight in the process! And bleached his hair! Miracle man! :stunned: But seriously, the way the media confuses Kirk for Matt or Kirk for Chris or Kirk for Dom, that doesn't surprise me in the slightest.

If I'm doing my math right, 14 months pregnant means baby due in June, so I'd say Lolla and Reading still have a chance (which are in August). Remember, Muse took a month off thanks to Chris's baby but still toured Australia afterwards. Or maybe I'm being hopelessly optimistic because I'm actually planning on flying to Lollapalooza this year (though regardless of whether Muse plays or not).

I can't freaking wait for the 7th or 8th album when we're so drenched in cheese that we're actually begging for Neutron Star Collision or Guiding Light as a rarity.

The tags in the Sun article thread on .mu are hilarious. Poor BellDom folks! So yeah, I guess this time when talking about unnatural selection, it was no pants for fate. (Unnatural selection, of course, being the passing of meerkat traits through human reproduction and having the human-meerkat-rodent-harpy offspring fight it out for survival.)

Sounds to me like she was conquered by Matt's fully loaded satellites. :P Okay, that one was mine, and a lousy one at that, but I got on .mu finally and am reading some real treasures. :laugh3:

I haven't even set foot in .mu yet today, as I've been too busy dissecting this madness on Facebook and Twitter. Lots of wrath, but also lots of giggles. Best post I've seen is "He came in my cave!"

Dodos new album (streaming inside)
Saw these guys open for The New Pornos last year (so I suppose the Neko Case contribution makes sense) and I really liked their set. I still haven't downloaded their full albums, but I'll be sure to check out this next one.

Most obscure Coldplay song you've heard on radio/TV?
You mean on non-satellite radio? Probably Trouble, and that was a rare shocker. I don't think I've ever heard a non-single on standard radio (hence why they're singles, I suppose). As for TV...Everything's Not Lost on Scrubs? Yeah, probably. Satellite radio, on the other hand, plays non-singles up the wazoo, including remixes.

I think everyone just needs to use common sense when talking about rumors and the band's personal lives (though it sounds like everyone is being sensible at this point). We want this to be known as a credible source of information, so we should make an effort to emphasize what is rumor and what is fact. (I guess there could be a "rumor segment" at the tail end of the news...someone else can think of a catchy name for it) Still, I think we should limit ourselves with how much unconfirmed information is provided if at all possible. I realize news is slow right now, so this may be easier said than done. But we don't want Coldplaying TV to be discredited just when it's starting out. YouTube video is good, and I'm not going to be too critical of it seeing as how it's merely an introduction rather than an actual episode. Some of the text used over the footage seems unnecessary (I mean the visual comments, not the titles), and I assume by "transitions", people mean dissolves and fades at each cut just so it seems smoother whenever cuts are made. Otherwise, I think the best approach to figuring the positives and negatives is just to get a full episode up and analyze it. Good stuff so far. Looking forward to the next step.

Florence + The Machine
^ First video = Cute! Second video = CUTER! I swear I visit that fuckyeahflorencewelch Tumblr at least 5 times a day and find myself mesmerized for longer than I should (especially by those gifs :shocked2:). People are getting amped at the prospect of a second album, though I really do think she deserves a bit of a break. She's done years of extensive touring, even well before Lungs was released, and I'd hate to see her get burnt out. Or maybe I'm just being overly concerned because she seems so delicate and lovable.
