Muse Week. Totally. (Going On Right Now!)
On second thought, I feel like a bit of an ass for posting what I did earlier. I've been bitter online in general lately. Apologies, just go ahead and do whatever you want. ;)

The Snow Patrol Thread
Haven't posted here in a couple months, and as much as I love ranking the boys in terms of good looks (or not :P), I just wanted to say that "Somewhere a Clock is Ticking" has dethroned "Make This Go On Forever" as my favorite SP song. I still think MTGOF is beautiful, but SACIT blows my mind every time I listen to it.

Muse Week. Totally. (Going On Right Now!)
No need to be offended, m'kay? ;) Tell ya what, since "Fuck no" was a bit harsh, I'll give you my reasons in a more civil manner, if you'd like: A) Clutter. One dedicated week for a band is okay, two is pushing it, and three or more gets excessive. B) Influence. The reason I think the Radiohead thread and potentially the U2 thread are okay is because of their influence. As awesome as Muse is, I don't think they've hit that influential point in their career. C) Like I said, they can't even fill a full week yet. In a few years, then sure, I'd be up for it. Don't think I'm gonna stop you from creating a Muse Week, but I can't say I'd be enthusiastic about the idea.

Muse Week. Totally. (Going On Right Now!)
I love Muse. I really do. That said, fuck no. This is exactly what I feared in the U2 thread. And heck, Muse doesn't even have enough albums to fill a week. EDIT: Disregard this post. :P

I Know! Let's Have A U2 Week!
I'd be for it, though yeah, having more than seven albums requires more than a single week (which is why Radiohead Week worked out so well). My only fear is that it would lead to people creating weeks for every other darn band out there.

The Album Leaf
After hearing so many good things about them on here (would have never discovered them elsewhere), I finally went ahead and downloaded a couple Album Leaf songs a few weeks ago. Really gorgeous stuff (especially "Twenty Two Fourteen") that's perfect for when I need to relax. When I have spare time, I'm gonna listen to a full album of theirs. Thanks for bringing them to my attention, guys. ;)

Arcade Fire
Now I'm even more confused, lol. It wasn't a jab at Radiohead, if that's what you were thinking. I love Radiohead. Back on-topic, I think I like "Month of May" a lot more now that I've heard it within the context of the album.

Arcade Fire
^ *is confused as to why he got sigged for the most random quote* Got home early, meaning I can finally listen to this album on repeat in crystal quality. Favorites are Rococo, Suburban War, and Sprawl II. As I mentioned before, the final minute of Suburban War is euphoric. If there's any track I'm not a fan of on here, it's Wasted Hours, which is the only place on the epic that seems like filler. Otherwise, I think this is a more cohesive album than Neon Bible. In terms of preference, though, I'm going to need some more listens to determine where to rank it among AF's library.

Arcade Fire
I'm still on vacation but I found a Starbucks so I'm using their wi-fi in the meantime. Not gonna download the album from a public connection, so I'm just streaming the album on YouTube through my headphones. Last minute of "Suburban War"? Holy shit.

Concerts/Artists you have seen/Are planning to see
Saw the New Pornographers on Tuesday night. Good show with a varied setlist, and the fact that I was in the front row directly in front of Kathryn Calder only sweetened the deal (Neko Case, by comparison, was surrounded by middle aged men, kinda creepy). I almost nabbed a setlist but some bitch grabbed it from my hand. Arggh. My unfortunately short list of artists seen: The Bravery Coldplay Metric Muse The New Pornographers Phoenix Snow Patrol Vampire Weekend Still have those doggone U2 tickets. :laugh3:

Coldplay.com infected??
You all have caught the Coldplay virus! There is no cure. Listening to Radiohead will only worsen the disease. Common effects of the virus include singing in public, pointing out the number 42 every time you see it, talking about how your feet never touch the ground, and getting seduced by Guy Berryman. There is no stopping the virus. It will consume us all until we all become mindless Coldplayer zombies. I think I am just going to kill myself now to spare my self the pain. (on a more serious note, best of luck to tech support)

Female Coldplayers create teh Coldgay?
Roadie #43 is totally not female, and he HAS seen Cold-gayness occur, specifically between Chris and Jonny (although rumor has it that all of them would go gay for Guy, including Phil, and Phil is straight as can be). He even has photographic evidence! He refuses to share it with anyone, of course. Not because he doesn't want to get in trouble, though, but rather because he'd rather get turned on by the pictures himself. What a perv. :dozey:

Top Summer Songs
"Summer Skin" by DCFC is another one. Off topic, but this forum is now throwing Justin Bieber ads at me. Screw you, Coldplaying.

Top Summer Songs
"Summersong" by, The Decemberists, which I'm not even sure is an appropriate summer song. :P (I guess it is though) P.S. This seems more like a WoM topic to me.

What were your first thoughts on VLVODAAHF?
I honestly liked it better two years ago than I do today. Upon first listen, I was a bit iffy about the shift in sound for the band. After a few listens, however, I was convinced that it was the best thing that could ever happen to Coldplay, especially after X&Y kept things so similar. I really wore out the title track over time, though, but other songs like Strawberry Swing quickly climbed onto my list of favorites. Of course, another listen to AROBTTH gave me a reality check months later, but I still think Viva is a great album. Just not as flawless as I once thought.

Coldplay appear on new various artists album.
Well I suppose the selection is better than those NOW CD's, though I believe VLV is on several hit compilation albums already anyway. Initiate the debate over whether VLV deserves to be Coldplay's "anthem"...

Arcade Fire
Oh figures. The day it leaks is the day I leave on vacation for a week, and my only means of online access is my dad's iPhone which I'm using right now. God REALLY doesn't want me to listen to this album until it's actual release. Karma I guess.:P

Richard Ashcroft - Solo Work & United Nations of Sound
I've only listened to the two singles, "Are You Ready?" and "Born Again". Hated the former, thought the latter was okay. Very different, though not necessarily in a good way. Not really interested in listening to the rest of the album, and this is coming from someone who even liked some of Ashcroft's solo material.

So I was wondering...
Just as an FYI, whenever people here see the number 42, they freak out or have an orgasm or something that gives them some uncontrollable urge to point it out on this very message board as if they just saw the second coming of Christ. Of course, now you're at 44, so you don't have to worry about needlessly excitable caps anymore. (No offense or anything, Crests. :P) Also, I approve of the randomness in this topic. It's a nice break from the topics in the Coldplay section that pretend to be relevant. But this topic? Not trying to hide it at all.

Covers you'd like to see done by Coldplay...
I'd like to see original songs the most, or at least on their records anyway. That said, I wouldn't mind them covering a Travis song, especially a classic like "Why Does It Always Rain On Me?" I'd like a cover to be of a song that's at least somewhat in their style, as I honestly rather disliked that Billie Jean cover.

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
BAHAHA! :laugh3: Not at all. 1.5 hours to the first gig, 1 hour to the second. :) (could be a bit longer if I decide to take a different friend to the second gig)

Interpol
It's back up on iTunes. :) While "Lights" never really clicked with me, I think "Barricade" is a great single. It really takes off at the second chorus. For some reason, I feel like this album is gonna feel like Antics, even though the band says they wanted to return to the style of TOTBL. Not a bad thing, mind you.
