  3. That's an awesome setlist. You'll always be thankful for the times you saw him live. It's a piece of history.
  4. It's not Bono's rules necessarily. It's more the role of opening bands. They are not there to use all of the main act's props and stage equipment. They are there to introduce their music to an audience that otherwise might not listen to them. I would consider it disrespectful if bands used the ramps, came around the outer ellipse, used the circle mic, etc. I thought Interpol were fine.
  5. I like how they film the band's walk to the stage. That gets the crowd excited.
  6. The show in Philly was good last night. The only thing that was a disappointment was the set list. As a whole, it was good but practically the same as Baltimore. There were only 2 changes I recall: magnificent instead of the fly and hold me, thrill me instead of ultraviolet. Those are 2 trades I'd never make. Hold me, thrill me was actually the highlight of the show for me. I just wish it didn't bump ultraviolet, which has consistently been the best song of the tour for me. As a whole, it was a good night. I'm sad that it will probably be awhile before they tour again.
  7. ^ yeah, I agree that U2 is the better band. There's no other band that I can think of capable of pulling off a tour that is the size and scope of the 360 tour. U2 does it effortlessly. Even songs that I don't love on their album are magical when played live. I'm seeing them tomorrow in Philly, and I can't wait.
  8. Since they are wrapping up, wouldn't it be cool if they played something really rare? How about something like A Sort of Homecoming or Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses?
  9. Nice pictures....I am going to try to make it to the Philly show. I wonder how long it will be before they tour again. Are they going to add more dates and/or another leg, or is this it?
  10. Looking forward to it.

    I didn't even like Mew Part 1
  12. I haven't watched Coldplay yet, but I've seen most of U2's set and I thought they were very good. However, my one complaint about U2 is they didn't do anything over the top like I thought they would. Aside from playing Bad and Out of Control, it was basically a group of songs that you'd catch at any of their recent shows.
  13. I didnt think much of U2 playing a bit of yellow. They do 4 or 5 snipets of other artist's songs during a typical concert. Obviously, it was a slight tribute to their co-Glastonbury headliners, Coldplay, however, I really wasn't excited by it.
  14. I know there are people out there who don't like U2. I just understand how that's possible. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMY_0OypCWI]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMY_0OypCWI[/ame]
  15. How about Achtung Baby start to finish at Glastonbury?
  16. Sweet!!! I saw them last night, and they played 5 or 6 tracks off Achtung Baby again, including the first 4 songs. Oh...I heard they were sound checking 40...."How long to sing this song..."
  17. ...in red, blue, green...in red, blue, green...well, at least you picked a good song for which to fall on your sword. It doesn't make much difference to me because I chat with you outside this forum, but it is a big loss for WoM, as you are certainly one of the more knowledgeable and open minded posters. I'll catch you later...in red, blue, green...in red, blue, green...
  18. I love Moz, but mainly in the context of The Smiths. His solo stuff has never really done a lot for me.
  19. Anaheim 2 opened with 5 Achtung Baby songs, and 6 overall. That's half the album played. I'm seeing them on Wednesday, so I'll let you know.
  20. I read a lot. I have many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.
  21. I don't know what the setlist will be, but U2 will pull something out of their hats. I'm not saying it'll be good or bad, but they are not the type of band that goes into an event this big without any tricks. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. Events of this magnitude are very important to U2, and they usually do very well.
  22. Pop music is usually good for working out. I also listen to hard rock and some metal when I work out. I've been listening to the Killers live from Royal Albert Hall recently. That's been good.
  23. I'm going to see them this Wednesday. I had tickets for last Friday and Saturday in Anaheim, but I moved.
