  4. any that are meloncholy......but mostly Warning Sign
  5. New Year's Day: U2
  6. Strawberry Swing and Violet Hill (for some reason I have been in a major VLV mood today, going through videos and interviews, and obsessing over Chris' hair....)
  7. I couldn't have said that better myself :D I have been watching some VLV-era videos and interviews today and I really, really, really, really LOVED Chris' hair during that time period.......I miss it!!!
  8. Originally Posted by ColdplayerTampa2012;5388403 I love Coldplay AND Chris Martin, but he's got to work on the lyrics a bit. For example, I consider "X&Y" their best work. But some of the lyrics make me go: . Why? Because I have to hear "if you never try then you'll never know" on almost every track. I skip to "What If", I get: "How can you know if you don't even try?". I skip to "Fix You", I get: "But if you never try you'll never know". I skip to "Speed of Sound", I get: "If you never try then you'll never know". So surely you can see my point. "If you never try, you'll never know" is the worst Coldplay lyric ever. Exactly. And, if you follow a band/artist this closely, it happens quite frequently. For example: Sting uses the lyric "It's a big enough umbrella, but it's always me that ends up getting wet" in MANY songs, and actually that lyric spans over The Police and his solo stuff, as well as multiple albums.
  9. I have often thought about trying to create some sort of bracket system for myself to figure out what I consider is my "ultimate" favorite Coldplay song. I have too many, and it usually depends on many factors which is my favorite at the moment. I always love Trouble, because that song cemented my love and obsession for the band. But, not sure if it is my all time, ultimate favorite. It could be, though.
  10. I just finished Slave by Mende Nazer. It is the story of modern day slavery (in Sudan). I was blown away by the fact that slavery and slave raids still occur in this age. It is a harrowing novel, but I definitely think a must read for human rights knowledge.
  11. ^ I hope my kids can say the same thing!! My 8yo's favorite song is Viva la Vida, and always requests to hear that. I am trying to broaden his Coldplay tastes, but it always seems to come back to that song for him....
  12. ^agree with Moving to Mars The Hardest Part A Message White Shadows
  13. I don't know why, but this thread makes me laugh! When one is 30+, nobody cares what "type" of music you listen to! But, if I am ever asked this question, my standard response is usually "I listen to weird music", and just leave it at that...
  14. I'm very interested in what others have to say. It probably differs a bit in different perspectives. I became aware of them when Parachutes came out. I bought the album and listened to it quite a bit, but did not become *obsessed* with them until AROBTTH came out. Maybe when Clocks was released started really giving them major exposure. I'm fairly certain that they were a big deal in the industry before X&Y, but I don't follow "the industry" that closely, so I know there are others that can weigh in properly!!
  15. Why on earth do they need to end it?? As long as the band is happy together and still making good music, there is no reason for that, period!
  16. Warning sign for me, too^
  17. In your opinion......I skip zero tracks on X&Y
  18. ^spits Coke at the computer screen!! if only we could find a way to make them light up again.........that would be awesome, the cat would probably go nuts as they tend to love flashlights and lasers...
