Despite my initial twinges of disappointment in the apparent mainstream sound of this song, I feel the same as you. They are my "go-to" band and I'll support them no matter what. It has to be hard staying current amidst a musical world filled with crap: Bieber, Gaga, Rihanna, Britney, Ke$ha, Katy Perry....who are all so popular....and unfairly so (in most cases).

I rated it a 7 out of 10. I think I'd like it better if it didn't sound so "clubbin'." But, it's happy and light and fun to listen to. I guess Coldplay are adapting with the times, which has me with mixed feelings. Do I hate that in order to stay current they need to start putting out these manufactured club-type songs? Yeah, I kinda am. But, at least they don't go whole hog. They stick to the fringes...which puts me in the "it's alright" category. I would rate it lower if it wasn't so happy sounding.

Tschaikowsky......since I was 10 or so. I'm 32 now. Also, Coldplay...since they released "Parachutes" and also Dave Matthews Band since they released "Lying Under the Table and Dreaming."

I cut and paste the entire album in another folder...loaded up the iPod and synchronized each song by itself and it seems to be working...(however, when I was going through to make sure each one played, track 2 sounded like horrible screeching, but when I plugged the headphones in, it was normal...took the headphones back out and it was still normal. Don't know what was up with that, but...it works now.)

It comes zipped up in a folder, though. It's actually in TWO folders. At least, mine is. After I unzip it, there's a King of Limbs folder and then in THAT folder, there is another King of Limbs folder in which the 8 tracks plus album art is in. I guess I'll just cut out all the mp3s and put them directly into a folder I made in my music section. *shrugs*

GRRRR! Bloom and Feral won't play, but the rest will! What is the deal?! ETA: Sent an e-mail. Hopefully, they'll respond. Honestly, this is why I like physical copies. I've never had problems ripping music from my own discs. I always seem to encounter trouble when I LEGALLY DL mp3s. Go figure.

I just reDLed it. We'll see if things work now. I'm not using iTunes to import it to my iPod. Does that make a difference? I use MediaMonkey.

My iPod's been freaking out lately anyway, but the fact that I'm having issues with it IN my media player is disconcerting. I'm thinking maybe the DL is corrupt?? I mean...surely not?! But...I don't know. I've never had this problem before. I guess I'll just hang on to the zip folder and wait for the physical copy to come out.

I feel like a noob! I just discovered her and she's magical, I think!

I've been listening to the album non-stop...seems like. My first impression was a good one. Do I think it's better than Kid A or HTTT or In Rainbows? No, probably not, but I think it's a stronger starting than Amnesiac and even OKC. But...then again...I'm a huge fan of their direction towards ambient, electronica stuff. In the beginning, I thought the latter part of the album was stronger, but now I'm starting to really like the beginning of the album the most! I really adore all the tracks, but if I had to pick my least favorite, it'd have to be GUTG. I'm not feeling the harmonic progressions much and the repetitive "don't haunt me" is distracting. Side bar: Maybe someone can help me with this. I was one of the ones that preordered the mp3 album off Radiohead's site. I DLed it when they released it a day early and dropped it into my My Music folder (thereby putting it in Windows Media with the rest of my stuff). It seemed to go in fine. Well, I opened it up yesterday and none of the tracks would play. I went to my music folder and the album was gone! I unzipped it again and put it back in and now it's showing up again, but without the album art that was included. Made me wonder.......I went to my iPod and tried to play the album from my iPod and it won't play. It just skips to the next album and completely bypasses TKoL album. Thoughts?

I preordered the digital mp3. I wasn't quite sure what the newspaper thing was either. I plan to buy the CD when its released in March, too.

I haven't been to coldplaying in ages, but I preordered King of Limbs yesterday and I'm just about peeing my pants in anticipation of it coming out on their site!

Oh yes....I get my named spelled with that "IE" all the time. I asked my mom once why she chose the spelling with the "Y" and she said that she didn't like the way the "IE" spelling looked.
