Post your Stream Feelings with Coldplay at Glastonbury
I watched it on TV last night and I was so amazed! Loved that they played Shiver! Loved that they played Everything's Not Lost and Life is for Living!!! And I LOVED Charlie Brown!! I guess I'm fine with the fact that they only did a couple of songs from X&Y. It's my least listened to album anyway. If this is the sort of show we have to look forward to once LP5 is released and they start touring, then I'm going to every one I can make!!!

Lyrics discussion (and poll)
Lyrically, I think this is a strong song. And now after hearing the song...the lyrics are epic. But, that's just my measly $.02.

If MTM remains only a b-side, where does it rank among your favorites?
I really hate ranking Coldplay songs, because it would be like someone asking me to rank my children in terms of fa\/orites. I just can't. But, I can say that if this is a B-side, it will be a spectacular one! I hope it makes the album, though.

Major Minus: Studio v Live?
Don't get me wrong, I like the studio \/ersion, but I for sure think the li\/e \/ersion is way more dynamic. It's packed with more excitement and I think it's because his \/ocals don't sound "tampered with." It's just pure Chris.

Where does ETIAW fit among classic songs?
I voted "Imagine." Love that song....although it was hard to choose between "Imagine" and "Paranoid Android." But...I felt really stupid. I have never heard of "Subterranean Homesick Blues." I thought maybe the OP meant "Subterranean Homesick Alien," but after googling it I discovered why I've never heard of it.

Coldplay: Greatest downfall in the history of music?
This. And I too am on the fence about ETIAW. I won't discredit a band based on one song. Also, I've noticed several posters not only obliterating this single to shreds, but also denigrating this band they "used" to be fans of in various other threads, and it makes me wonder......if they aren't "fans" of the band anymore and haven't liked them since the old stuff........why do they still come around and post? Why not just fade away, go to another board of a band they actually like and share in that community? I realize you make friends on boards, but thanks to the wonderful world of the internet and social networking, there are other ways to stay tied to your friends you have acquired through message boards. I used to love Dave Matthews, but I haven't liked any of their albums after "Before These Crowded Streets." But, I don't feel it necessary to go to fansites and proclaim my dislike of their newer albums. Nope, I just stopped buying their albums, stopped posting on DMB boards, and started posting on boards of bands I actually liked. *shrugs* ETA: If and when I tire of Coldplay I probably will never come and post anymore because there will be no point. I will not like their music anymore and, therefore, feel I have nothing else to add.

Radiohead
So, does anybody know if Radiohead is planning on touring with this album?? It's been so quiet since the release of KoL and it kind of frightens me a bit.

Which is your favourite new Coldplay song?
I chose "Us against the world."

New Coldplay eh?

"Born This Way?" Ohhhhh.....you mean Madonna's "Express Yourself??" Okay, I threw up in my mouth a little when you posted that Gag's "Born This Way" is better than ETIAW. IMO, it's not. But also IMO, she's a blight on the face of music. She claims to be this "artist," but she's only in it for the shock value anymore. She claims to be original, yet everything she has done for her latest album takes a big ol' page out of Madonna's playbook from the 80's. I wouldn't be surprised if her next album takes a spiritual tone and she gets into Kabbalah. I'm thinking...."Beam of Light?" No? BTW....did you see her performance on SNL? She gave birth.......to glitter. Yeah. She's on the right track baby, she was manufactured that way!

Coldplay: Greatest downfall in the history of music?
God, I LO\/E this song! Maybe ETIAW was underwhelming, but THIS song shows so much promise! I don't think Coldplay is on a downward spiral. You can't judge a whole album based on one song. You just can't. Because if you did that, then e\/en the fa\/orite album, "Rush of Blood to the Head" would be awful to some. I adore that album, but I absolutely can't stand "A Whisper." But, I definitely do not discount that album solely based on my dislike for that one song. It's almost treasonous to write off a band that you claim to be a fan of based on one song. And to the person who mentioned that at least Radiohead's change of style was a good one......don't delude yourself. I know many fans that were underwhelmed with KoL and thought it didn't sound like Radiohead at all...more like a Thom Yorke solo album. I know many Radiohead fans that wish they would return to the days of OK Computer and The Bends, but just like Coldplay....they ha\/e e\/ol\/ed. Sometimes fans adapt and go with their bands on this new journey, and sometimes they don't. Both are okay. I wasn't jumping out of my seat for ETIAW, but it was okay. I'm still looking forward to the whole album. I just won't discredit them based on one "okay" song.

Any way to buy an MP3?
I downloaded mine on Amazon for $.69, but I was NOT impressed with the quality. 290kps and it sounded faraway despite turning up the volume. Youtube video on Coldplay's official site is much better. *sigh* I wish I could get my $.69 back.

There are only so many different rhythms, chord progressions, and melodic lines...etc....pretty soon they'll all be recycled. It's all been done at this point. Hard to be original at this point. What separates them all are the lyrics. ETA: I hadn't heard of "Ritmo de la noche" or "I go to Rio" till I came to this site.
