  1. Hmph. Speculation schmeculation. I have no doubt it'll leak at some point, but to me, it doesn't really matter when that happens. I'm gonna buy the actual CD when I can manage it. (Not the super deluxe box, though. The muse.mu store says that's £60, which is equal to approximately $97.34. That's not even including the shipping. There's no way I'm spending over $100 on something like that.)
  2. My mom and I went around town today, and during that time, we made a quick visit to my aunt's house. She had one of her grandchildren with her (9 months old). My mom was talking baby talk to her, and I almost started to myself, but I felt embarrassed about doing it because I haven't been around enough babies to know exactly how to go about doing that, so I didn't. Basically, while we were there, I stood there looking at this baby, not knowing what the hell to do other than smile at her occasionally. I felt so out of place. :disappointed:
  3. ^^ I wanted to get "Dead in the Boot," but it's a B-sides compilation of stuff I already have (thanks to you ), there's nothing new on it that I'm aware of, and the people on the Elbow forum said it was the same recordings as on the singles, so it's not remastered. Is there any real benefit to getting it that I'm missing? ^ I just heard about that Stars album the other day. I'm definitely taking a listen to that. I think I'll hold of on Grizzly Bear, though, until the actual release.
  4. ^ AND you get to see Elbow the day after. How do you manage so much awesomeness at once?
  5. ^ Isn't that technically a 2011 album, though, seeing as that's when it was released in their native Iceland?
  6. ^ It's weird how our tastes on the new songs are the exact opposite.
  7. I know I'm over a week late, but I've heard "Madness" for the first time just now. My consensus: It's the worst Muse song I've heard in ages. Those of you who were convinced I just back Muse blindly can see now that this isn't the case. The "m-m-m-m-maaa-maaa" bit, the guitar solo in the middle, Matt backing himself by singing an octave higher towards the end, the general vibe of the song. Yeah, definitely not a fan.
  8. "Packt Like Sardines in a Crushd Tin Box"-Radiohead
  9. Oh man, I dunno. I think Dave mentioned them somewhere, and I decided to look them up. Hot Chip
  10. 1. "Penny Dreadfuls"-Animal Collective 2. "Das Leben"-Megaherz 3. "Safety"-tUnE-yArDs 4. "Bro's"-Panda Bear 5. "Untangle"-Four Tet 6. "Candlestick"-Argyle Johansen 7. "The Flame"-Chimaira 8. "War at Home"-Josh Groban 9. "Where Do We Go From Here"-The Temper Trap 10. "Look At Where We Are"-Hot Chip
  11. I haven't even heard it that much (I don't listen to the radio), but I still can't stand it. The guy's voice sounds so whiny on it, particularly in the chorus.
  12. ^ I saw the music video for that song a couple of weeks ago. I liked the concept, and the song isn't NEARLY as annoying as the other one. (Y'know, the one that says it features Janelle Monáe, but doesn't have nearly as much of her vocals as one would think.)
  13. "He Doesn't Know Why"-Fleet Foxes
  14. "Thank You for Not Moshing"-Reel Big Fish
  15. 1. "Summertime"-My Chemical Romance 2. "Seoul"-Amiina 3. "Be Thankful for What You've Got (feat. Tony Bryan)"-Massive Attack 4. "Echoes"-I Was a Cub Scout 5. "You Raise Me Up (Por Ti Seré)"-Il Divo 6. "Ingressus in C minor, P92: Gloria Patri"-The King's Singers 7. "Red Confederates' Red Confessions"-Hey Rosetta! 8. "Chakra 4"-Mannheim Steamroller 9. "My Buddy"-Alvino Rey Orchestra 10. "Fall Creek Boys Choir (with Bon Iver)"-James Blake
  16. "Enjoy It While It Lasts"-Spector I liistened to this last night. It sounds exactly as people here have described it: indie rock with computers. Special thanks to Natt for their promotion; I wouldn't have bothered if it weren't for her.
  17. I think my only expectation at this point is that this album has a different flavor. Each of their other albums has a distinct vibe that makes it different from the others, so it makes sense to me that this one will go along that same route. I'm not expecting that Muse will go AWOL and do something extreme. I don't think he meant he wanted another one of those songs. He merely meant that he wanted something to touch him in a way that those songs he listed does. (Am I right?) Of course, I feel like there were songs like that on TR ("Redemption" comes to mind), but obviously he doesn't feel the same way, so he's asking for Muse to try again. He wants a song like those, but not exactly like them. Also, "Sing for Absolution" was a single, and I think it's pretty emotional. (Not trying to detract from your point, which is generally true when it comes to Muse.)
  18. ^ That link won't work for me.
  19. Depending on the interpretation, that COULD be a good thing. We won't know until the album comes out. Speaking of which, with the date being pushed back to October, we have about a month and a half until it gets here, sooner if there's a leak. :bomb:
  20. Elbow weren't cut, per se. They just weren't shown or acknowledged for their presence. (Which I suppose is about the same thing...) At least I got to hear them during the gathering of the nations. (They sounded brilliant.)
  21. "Deadlines and Commitments?" Sounds interesting. Thanks for the track listing!
  22. ^ Exactly. Minor influences does not a genre change make.
  23. "Forest of October"-Opeth
  24. It's weird, because I didn't like them at first. I heard "Electric Feel" on YouTube, and while the beat was catchy, I thought the vocals were annoying. After hearing "Siberian Breaks" on a mixtape, however (thanks, Fran), I changed my mind. Mew
  25. "Soldier On"-The Temper Trap
