  1. hmmm...the area looks pretty ok from Google Street View tho. but the street view for that particular alleyway doesn't have a direct shot of The Bakery. just side views from the corner of the bistro.
  2. oh shit...i just got a standing ticket for this Wembley gig. *faints*
  3. hmmm....was said friend them 2 guys i saw on the big screens who kept jumping up & down enthusiastically the entire time the band were playing there? they were like just right behind the guys...hehe
  4. don't worry...i wouldn't call myself a hardcore fan either. i can't even settle on a firm fave among the guys in Coldplay (i think all of them are great! haha). i'm just anal about what's in my music CD collection. e.g. : when i realised i'd somehow gotten a crack on the cover of my copy of A Rush Of Blood To The Head, i ended up scouring my entire room for a decent CD case to scavenge the cover off...just cos i didn't want any of my favourite music CDs to have a crack on the jewel case. :P
  5. Betterman The Rolling Stones
  6. ermmm...wouldn't you be wrecking the vinyl by tossing it on stage? not to mention that vinyls aren't really that small/portable to bring around & hang onto during a concert...
  7. luckily you guys post fast....else i was about to freak out. cos i was just only at that HMV in Citylink this evening after work (i pass by it every day to/from work)...........& no Prospekt's March EP!!! but then, i'd actually gone in there to browse the CDs only... Viva La Vida - Prospekt's March edition are available in abundance & still at $16.95 for the 2-in-1 CD bundle (& i sound like an advert here...)
  8. yeah...when i saw it, i was like "wtf!!! i searched high & low but couldn't find it & when i finally cave in to buy it online, it shows up in a shop!!!" *sigh* not to mention that the online retailer i ordered it from decided to send me an email saying the delivery's delayed due to stocktake... :\ *double sigh* elusive bugger of an EP...
  9. indeed! the usual order of F1 domination by Mclaren & Ferrari has been ursurped by the (reborn) newcomer / underdogs. now to see if the momentum lasts for Sepang & maybe even the rest of the season. tho i'm still rooting for Raikkonen to have a better season this year than 2008 (which was just plain crap for him).
  10. orrite...after looking up your modem router, since it doesn't have built-in WLAN support, you won't be able to connect your iPod touch to the current wired network. the iPod touch pretty much lives on wireless internet to connect online. i've yet to see an iPod touch accessory cable that lets you physically plug into your modem router's existing free ports. you could look into getting either : OPTION 1 a wireless router (to hook up to the current modem router...PC doesn't need to be switched on too for WiFi once you've set it up the 1st time round) or a USB or PCMCIA WiFi adapter (uses your PC that's already online via the wired network to create a wireless network...hence your PC needs to be switched on when you want WiFi) OPTION 2 a USB WiFi adapter's pretty convenient. for the PCMCIA WiFi adapter you'll need to venture into the innards of your PC...which you may or may not be comfy with. else you'd be resigning yourself to only using the online apps when you're in the vicinity of a free wireless hotspot when you're in town. or mooching off someone's unsecured home WiFi (but i do believe that mooching someone's internet is illegal). not fun at all.
  11. heh...the new way to travel : go around the world on a Coldplay Adventure! :D btw, i think someone was also looking for the Prospekt's March EP. spotted 1 lonely copy on the shelf in the Gramophone at Taka (basement floor). didn't get it as i'd gone & ordered my copy online already.
  12. oyah! watched it again, but with the translation alongside the video...kept putting it on pause to try & work out which kanji meant what & the pronunciation. absolutely love just how random the questions on Japanese TV music/variety shows can be! helps up the entertainment factor a lot that the guys were all playing along with the randomness of the questions. the Coldwave died out pretty fast...guess it didn't really catch on with the crowd. pity tho. it was cool while it lasted.
  13. i'd say that chant is infectious! loads of ppl were still singing it loudly & unashamedly waaaay after the concert as they were leaving the stadium!
  14. niiice! :) here's a tip to a fellow Flickr user : copy the image links (they end with ".jpg" to attach the images)...click on All Sizes. choose which size you want if you don't want the default size, which i think is Large. at the bottom of each image is a set of links. 1 to embed the images as per Flickr rules (which i never follow :P ) & 1 with just the URL of the image itself (which is what you really need).
  15. i think it's still way too early to tell if it really is a step in the right direction to make things more competitive & interesting. but then F1 needs less parades & more overtaking anyway. Singapore last year could well have turned out to be just another parade on a new track & the novelty of being a night race + street race. luckily it turned out to be full of thrills & spills...along with a nice come back (albeit a bit late in the game) for Alonso. but then, i digress. onwards with 2009's season!
  16. personally, when i doodle or write stuff, it never even crosses my mind to consider slapping a trademark/copyright on my stuff...since it's just for fun & i'm not planning to sell them cos i don't think they are all that fantastic. but then, that's just me. + i'm not Chris Martin either. :laugh3: tho should anyone ever use my stuff, i'd be more worried about them plagiarising my stuff & claiming it as their work (as opposed to copyright infringement). which you guys & girls aren't anyway cos you're already acknowledging it's not your handwriting/doodle. no worries, mate (imo anyway). ;)
  17. yes it can & ADSL2+ broadband will work fine. but regardless, you'll still need to set up a WiFi network at home first in order to use any of the online apps. i'm assuming your ADSL2+ modem is just a wired modem connected directly to your PC. in which case, you will need to get a router (e.g. the Linksys WRT54G) so that you can hook it up to the modem & create a wireless (WiFi) network at home. i have an iPod touch too & it works fine on my home wireless network.
  18. C'mon Raikkonen!!! :D hmmm...but it would be quite interesting to see how Brawn GP performs against the big boys in the actual race. quite the come back for team Honda.
  19. oh, cool! a M'sian thread! w00t!!! (i'm still exploring this crazily massive Coldplay forum...so minta maaf for the slowness) apa khabar semua? :D
  20. took a while to sort them out, but here's the more decent shots which i managed to snap... for some reason i keep thinking of Hugh Laurie's character Dr Gregory House when i see this shot... really like the colour of all the butterfly confettis raining down on this one... so it's my PC's wallpaper at work...for me to smile at when i get harrassed by difficult/demanding guests :)
  21. darn my lousy japanese...esp for the kanji words. i had absolutely no clue what most of the questions were really asking. but..........................hell yeah! MONKEYS RULE!!! :P
  22. just a couple of thoughts... is it not possible to give the tees to the band after or at the end of the concert instead? since there's this copyright question. i also somehow think the band wouldn't wear the tees onstage during the concert anyway if they were given the tees in advance as they have their Viva La Vida outfits, which they seem to wear for just about every appearance/concert i've seen them in since Viva La Vida came out. i'm not trying to be a wet blanket here, just that i've seen them in those outfits so often now that i'm starting to wonder if they ever wash them... j/k :P with regards to the copyright concern, i think handwritings/doodles are not covered under copyright protection. but anyway, it did get me thinking about the band's use of the Delacroix paintings for the Viva La Vida & Prospekts March covers. i've seen the painting also reproduced on the tour tees they sell at concerts. so there must be some exceptions to what kind of art/writing/picture falls under copyright protection? but then i might be totally off on this last thought & i admittedly have never covered copyright laws academically or professionally. or perhaps EMI ponied up on royalty fees big time for the reproduction of the paintings...idk.
  23. i think my heart sank like a lead weight when i read the ST review. it was like "Coldplay had a concert in Singapore on 23 March 2009. They played some old hits & stuff from their new album. So there. End of story." i was like 'awww, c'mon!!! give them some credit for a good show at least...jeez!' :(
  24. haha...good on ya, mate! well, i'd theorise that the guy from The Star probably couldn't get any decent shots & either them journos were lumped in the same area together or happened to get together to compare notes, the guy from The Star ended up "borrowing" the ST's photo. :wink3:
  25. that "The Chris Martin Show" comment aside (he's the lead singer, ffs, what in the world did the writer honestly expect him to do - just stand there stock still & just sing? booooring!), i think this review's much better written than the Straits Times one. captures the mood of the concert better. & extra minus pts to the ST reviewer for the typo for Clocks in the papers (it was missing the "s" in the song title...tsk tsk :P ).
