Dick Clark - the father of all TV presenters! :p that's so cool that you guys have that option! :) the only option i had was to transfer from Malaysia to Australia. that was still a great experience...but not as great as being able to transfer to UK. tho come Sep i shall get my chance to complete my British Music degree! muahahaha well, ok, i'm not really going to UK to study that either...but that's a sorta side plan in between (real) studies. :wink3: yay! another disciple of British Music!!! :dance:

2nd-ed...it doesn't really make me cry, but the feeling's pretty close when i hear this song. & i think the original by Snow Patrol's more emotional than Leona Lewis' cover of it. tho she did a pretty alright job still.

:D no worries, it wasn't as tough as it sounds really. the twats were being all pushy & rude in trying to get a good viewing spot even tho they came late + kicking up a fuss when i daym near stepped on the girl's handbag by accident (who the heck leaves their designer bag lying on the ground in a standing room only spot anyway?). but when you're on your own, it's a great comfort that the crowd's on your side & not the twats'. that said, there will be times, even when you're not alone, when you just happen to bump into some rude buggers...can't be helped that such ppl exist. :\ just gotta make sure they don't spoil the day for you, like you said.

to be honest, i used to drag someone along cos i was both afraid to go alone & self concious about going to something like a concert alone. partly due to the "oh, you're going alone? so lonely..." responses i tended to get from friends when i think aloud about doing something on my own. & i'm also really quite a shy & quiet person. then last year i went for an F1 race on my own over the race weekend & discovered that i had a blast even though i was solo-ing it all the way. i could pretty much do whatever i want, go as early & leave as late as i want, scout out the best spots for myself, wander around aimlessly on my own...& of course, i met some interesting ppl along the way. there was a minor unpleasant incident, but the crowd around me rallied round against the offending twats, so it was all good. & so, i ended up going for a Coldplay concert on my own too this year... :)

Mercury Rev weren't bad in Singapore...but then i didn't know any of their songs (heck, i admittedly have never heard of them til that day). then again, the only Jay-Z tunes i know are the mash up stuff he did with Linkin Park. i hope i don't get confused songwise... :p

i have. mainly cos my friends mostly don't have the same level of appreciation as me for live performances unless i get them in for free...which i obviously can't afford to foot for their tickets too all the time. feels a bit weird initially when you're sitting quietly all on your own with couples or groups of friends on either side of you, but once the show starts you pretty much forget that you're on your own. + you can act like a complete twat/fangirl in the safe knowledge that nobody's gonna take the mick out of you the following day(s) cos the ppl around you all don't know you. ;)

well, i think right now there's still some time to play with. most int'l students will wait til they've secured their student visa before booking tickets. i think it's usually in July/August when the rush starts for air tickets to UK. but i'd go with Min's advise. unless you're prepared to pay the price with the waiting game gamble, just book when the price is right & don't get the compulsion to check on prices again after than. just in case. ;)

i saw an interview where Chris was telling the interviewer that there was a gig they did in Birmingham, UK & the crowd were all silent after the 1st couple of songs/minutes. ouch.

well i never heard of it before this. really. but then, the guys i hang out with aren't really the type who'll readily admit to a man-crush, let alone use that term. :P

it'll be a risk...there are times when cheap(er) air tickets become available nearer to date, but there's also the more likely risk that the price goes back up. & i think this period of Sep is peak travel time into UK cos the gig's close to the start of the unis' new academic year. you got all the int'l students coming over, so i think demand (& hence price also) is likely to go up nearer to date.

wasn't there an official Coldplay fan club previously? i seem to somehow recall having seen such a thing before... but i like tracylynn's idea. sounds kinda like what Linkin Park has for their fans via LP Underground, which is also cool, cos their annual membership includes stuff like access to pre sale tickets + meet & greet passes.

hell yeah! Coldplay + House = bliss :D now, if only they'd slot in a Coldplay tune into a House episode...like how Snow Patrol's songs are used on Grey's Anatomy. i'd be a happy camper then.

you're better off culturally not ever knowing 'Achey Breakey Heart' ;) when i saw that episode, cos it was all about how she was trying to get her "former superstar" dad to perform again, the first thing that went through my mind was "dear god! please don't sing the 'Achey Breakey' song!"....................tho a song called 'I Want My Mullet Back' isn't any better ultimately. :confused:

yeah, it pretty much works out that way. :) that's also where stuff like Freshers'/Orientation Week comes into the picture...for us lost newbie souls to mingle & get to know each other.
