Richard (Keane's drummer) tweeted about why both Keane and The Killers are releasing best ofs this year: "we are all releasing 'best of's because it was in our record contracts..."

Wasn't that impressed by it on the first listen, but it's slowly growing on me. The previews for the other new songs on their Best Of (Won't Be Broken and Russian Farmer's Song) sound a lot more interesting. I'm seeing them again next month, so I'm curious to see how it'll hold up live. And when did Keane become cheer-up kings? I'm pretty sure most of their lyrics are pretty depressive, actually... Though the ones in this song aren't.

Went to see Frank Turner twice this week; both shows were brilliant! :)

New single 'Higher Than The Sun' gets its first airplay tomorrow morning on BBC Radio 2. Should be good...

'Shot At The Night' will get its radio premiere tonight on BBC Radio 1 in Zane Lowe's show. Then, on November 11, their best of-album 'Direct Hits' will be released:

I'm really liking the first song off it, 'Shine My Shoes'. I'm looking forward to hearing the rest. I was never a big fan of the first Swing album, but this one seems to be a bit more pop as well, which is what pulls me in on this first song... Should be good!

Good to see you had a great time Lodder! I was there as well, and it was absolutely amazing! Robbie was basically my hero growing up, so it was great to finally see him live. Some pictures and a video in the spoilers: Also picked up a live cd of the show afterwards, which is great! Wish more artists would sell that as merch, it's awesome to listen to the entire show again :D

Yup, I got it yesterday afternoon...

The new album is pretty good! A bit slow, and not as heavy on the guitars as they've said previously, but I like it :)

I'd say that's partly due to them being here recently (last December, and I was there too :D ) and partly due to excessive prices. €65 for upper tier seats is ridiculously overpriced, and it kept me off buying tickets for quite a while. It wasn't until they started an action with tickets for less than half price I decided to go...
