  1. A Dutch radio DJ is saying the new single is definitely going to be released tomorrow... he could be basing it off fan information, but I'm guessing he's likely to be a bit more in the know than we are... Exciting times! :D

I don't really get all the hype either. It sounds pretty much the same as almost all her other songs, which I find to be a bit generic and middle-of-the-road... sort of the music your mum and grandma like. But I guess she must be doing something right if so many people are praising it. I just don't see it myself.

I really can't see it happening anytime soon - or at least, not a version of Oasis with Noel in it. He has pretty much no reason (besides money, maybe) to get himself back into that when he now has a successful solo career with lots of sold out gigs, well-selling albums and with him in firm an full control of what he does. I wouldn't bet on Oasis ever coming back, to be honest...
  4. Thanks for the update Gerben - shame it didn't happen, but I think we all knew it was unlikely. Thanks for your efforts though... it would've been nice. Bit disappointed with LiveOnDemand though - haven't heard anything from them to update us on the project, nor have I gotten my money back... Bit odd if others have.
  5. The show I was at last week was filmed and is now online in full! :) [video=youtube;tTMgSo7PasU]
  6. Went to see them play a small club show last night for their album release party and they were amazing (as always, really) - the new stuff sounds great live and fits in well with their back catalogue. The new album's really growing on me... Looking forward to the proper tour next month! :)
  7. Not sure what to make of their new album yet... I enjoy it, but not as much as I'd hoped - it's all a bit too electronic for me, and I much preferred the guitar-led Editors. Ocean of Night and All The Kings are pretty great though.
  8. Yeah, the Frank Turner show was really, really special. It was in a tiny hotel bar with only 50 people in the audience... Great setlist balanced between a few hits and quite a few rarities and covers (including an equally hilarious and amazing mash-up of Meat Loaf's Bat Out of Hell and Bruce Springsteen's Thunder Road)... Plus, being the nice guy that he is, he came to hang out in the bar a few minutes after the show to talk to everyone there. U2 were fun too, but I felt kind of underwhelmed by the whole show... was kind of expecting it to be a bit more exciting(?) or something like that. Guess I may be a bit spoiled with the amount of great shows I've seen the past few years - I'm not that easily impressed anymore :P
  9. Been a while since I've posted here... Had a pretty busy year on concerts so far this year, and good few coming up. 10. This is such an awesome idea, and it's so cool that Chris is open to it! Just secured my ticket - how cool would it be to see him in an intimate venue? :D
  11. Ed Sheeran on Monday, Kasabian on Thursday, Andy Burrows the week after that and The Black Keys and Noel Gallagher next year :)
  12. Not yet, but there probably will be soon enough. This is just a regular release like GS and Live 2012 was, so it'll definitely be out in shops/online retailers etc.
  13. Not very impressed with this set... Why remove the non-GS songs from the special? Why not add the GS bonus tracks to the CD as well? I will probably buy this at some point though - it's still Coldplay and still good, after all! ;)
  14. On Twitter someone said they called the Ace Hotel and they said there was no show on the 18th. Guess the radio station is mistaken then, with the show actually taking place on the 17th? (Either that or they are playing an even more secretive show in a different location...)
  15. They were advertising it like crazy on the radio station and website itself, and I'm pretty sure I saw some online banners on a couple of other websites as well, but nothing other than that. The best that can come of that little promotion is that it might increase my chances of winning...
  16. Sky Radio. The contest is over now though (it ended today at 5), but here's the page relating to it: http://www.skyradio.nl/special/coldplay-in-la
  17. They're playing a show on the 18th as well, same location. A Dutch radiostation had a contest to win tickets + a trip there last week, so I obviously tried all I could... Winners are announced this week :)
  18. Looks like it's download-only, and no physical release... Shame. :(
  19. So far this year: Young the Giant (at a radio show taping) @ BNN Bar, Hilversum, Netherlands Laura Jansen + MC Fit @ Bibelot, Dordrecht, Netherlands Frank Turner & the Sleeping Souls + Andrew Jackson Jihad + Ducking Punches @ Melkweg, Amsterdam, Netherlands John Newman + Démira @ Melkweg, Amsterdam, Netherlands 3FM Awards (a bunch of Dutch artists played) @ Gashouder, Amsterdam, Netherlands BLØF (Dutch band I work with and thus get to follow around on tour) @ Mezz, Breda, a tv taping in Amsterdam and Paradiso, Amsterdam, Netherlands Robbie Williams @ Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam, Netherlands BLØF (the tour continues) @ Bibelot, Dordrecht and TivoliVredenburg, Utrecht, Netherlands Yes @ 013, Tilburg, Netherlands Young the Giant + Atlantic Attraction @ TivoliVredenburg, Utrecht, Netherlands Milow @ Mezz, Breda, Netherlands Pinkpop Festival (just one day): The Rolling Stones, John Mayer, Joe Bonamassa, Flogging Molly, HAIM & Ed Kowalczyk @ Landgraaf, Netherlands Franz Ferdinand + Rats On Rafts @ Paradiso, Amsterdam, Netherlands So yeah, pretty busy year so far. Still coming up: Laura Jansen @ Zomerfeest Festival, Gorinchem, Netherlands Kensington @ Zomerfeest Festival, Gorinchem, Netherlands Kaiser Chiefs @ Paradiso, Amsterdam, Netherlands Ed Sheeran + Saint Raymond @ Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam, Netherlands Kasabian @ Heineken Music Hall, Amsterdam, Netherlands Would also like to agree with all others on this thread so far - really hope to see Frank Turner again this year! I've seen him 4 times since May last year, and he and the Sleeping Souls (and his support acts as well, who tend to be great) have yet to disappoint. Others I'm hoping to see (again) are Coldplay, The Black Keys and Damon Albarn.
  20. [video=youtube;e7qKZ5p5X9Q]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7qKZ5p5X9Q Here's the full Spanish broadcast. Terrible quality, and out of sync until True Love, but at least it has Ink, Midnight and O ;)
  21. 'O' now - amazing live!
  22. Midnight now... is no one else here watching? :O http://nowwatchtvlive.com/2012/10/canal-1-plus-hd-live-stream-watch-canal-1-hd-spain-channel/
  23. Watching it on the Spanish channel - they're showing Ink right now! :) Edit: So far: AIMH - Magic - Clocks - Ink - True Love Looks like they're showing the uncut version!
  24. Can some take some more photos of the packaging (back cover etc.)? Am very curious if it's any different compared to the regular one... :)
