  1. I'd like the star pin Chris wore during the Twisted Logic tour. Or scraps of paper where Chris worked out lyrics -- but maybe he only writes them out on pianos, walls or his hand! :laugh3:
  2. Don't get me wrong, I think this is a great idea but I find it a little sad that they are selling the globe. I'd think that it would be a really meaningful memento of their earliest days.
  3. I find this whole thing curious. They've spent the whole Viva interview cycle describing the first 3 albums as a trilogy and Viva being the start of a new area. They've said they have no plans to re-visit Parachutes. What will an acoustic-Viva-era album sound like? And if Eno manages "stripped down," it will be something new for him too :laugh3:. I know Eno is polarizing, some think he's an asset and some think he's not. To me, that doesn't matter as much as with him on-board, we see a band that seems happy, energetic and excited about making music again. So as I chew on all this, I am immensely curious and excited to hear what's coming.

Guy leave Coldplay because of a side project? I seriously doubt that. In fact, I think side projects can make bands stronger. That's why there are so many 'super groups.' They provide an artistic outlet for artists apart from their main bands, so that they don't feel stifled. I think it rejuvenates them and they come back to their day jobs stronger.

More so than the actual song (which I adore), I like the lightness of it. It just sounds like a group of friends getting together and having fun with a song, with no worries about making it polished or perfect.
  6. I just downloaded it. Follow the link on this page: http://www.twentyfourbit.com/post/263542930/free-apparatjik-single-vampire-weekend-samples

There are 2 different types of diabetes. Type I (used to be called Juvenile Diabetes but the name was changed because adults can get it too) Type II (used to be called Adult-Onset but the name was changed because kids can get it. If you get Type II, it can sometimes be fully controlled by diet, weight management & exercise (i.e. lifestyle choices). With Type I, besides being careful about lifestyle, you must also take insulin shots. Either way, untreated, it will cause all kinds of serious problems. However, it's a smart person's disease because if you are smart & disciplined, it can be controlled. One has to be very careful not to fall into the trap that it's a common OK disease. For an OK disease, it kills a lot of people (if untreated). Good luck.
  8. Thanks for scanning. I haven't read this for a while. What a great interview. He was a little more forthcoming than his usual, not hiding behind his sense of humor, providing a deeper peek into "Chris the person" vs. "Chris, Coldplay frontman."
  9. Darn! I have been hoping for a good version of the "All The Things That I Have Done" Coldplay/Killers/Bono/Barlow encore.
  10. Ohhhh, what I wouldn't give to be a bee on those exploding walls!
  11. In my opinion, Viva sounds like a band having fun and enjoying the process of creating. If Eno had any part in that, more power to him.
  12. A famous gardener once said that compost is useful because good things grow from it. Here is a case in point - a good song grew from this EMBARASSING PILE OF MANURE. (note, Chrissy, "embarrassing has 2 r's" :laugh3:)
  13. Gravity - Coldplay - Live from Denmark Sometime Around Midnight - Airborne Toxic Event (the David Letterman Show) Dustland Fairytale - Killers (again, from Letterman)
  14. Bump I found it interesting to revisit this thread, now in retrospect. Of particular interest -- the thought that this was Chris's evolution (when we now know he was actually banned from the studio so the other guys could add their stamp). And the question of whether they could pull off this new sound in concert (didn't seem to be a problem ;) ). And whether VLV could support big sing-alongs. It's been a fun 1.5 years and I'm really excited for #5.
  15. Who knows what will or will not make it? I'll bet even they don't know at this point. They'll have many songs on the table and see which ones work best as a whole. I agree with Goodfeather, I think Christmas Lights will be a holiday giveaway (or a release for charity). One thing that several of them have mentioned numerous times is that they see #4 more stripped down. I don't know if that means Parachute-like or not. And, quite frankly, after following Eno since the early days, I can't imagine him doing "stripped down." Personally, I'm going to step back and enjoy other music for a bit, i.e. Interpol has been in the studio since January!
  16. OMG! The snapping heels pic! I want that as my screensaver, but I can't copy of image. Anyway to get a jpg? How could you have a bad day if you wake up to that pic??? Any idea how I can copy it to my hard drive?
  17. I know! I'll bet they are going to email a link for a d/l to all those who RSVPed!
  18. I'm guessing those who RSVPed will get a copy of "Wedding Bells!"
  19. Just me and the cat are home right now. I think I'll lock the doors so the fam'ly can't get in until after it's over.
  20. ^++1 I'd love a studio version. I made an MP3 from the Tokyo concert but the quality is less than perfect. And they could throw in the slowed down, acoustic "The Hardest Part" while they're at it.
  21. Thanks, I had to shut down the original screen and reopen it. Now I'm investigating programs to record it (I'm in the U.S.)...hubby doesn't quite get my CP addiction.
  22. OK, I'm really dense when it comes to this stuff. I've downloaded the player and all I can get is BBC News. How do I change channels? Thanks to anyone who can help a girl out.
  23. It doesn't make much sense to me that they'd give the Viva tour a big send-off, make a big deal of announcing "change" and then start another leg of the tour. Also, I think the new simple, elegant home page fits in nicely with Chris' comments about wanting the next album to be stripped down. Something's brewing, though, that's for sure.

Does anyone have the full version of this? I know he threw it in at the end of something and I can't remember/find it. Thanks!
