  1. Yeah, the first time I got drunk I didn't really like it and every time I drank after that, I would drink but not to get drunk. But then I got drunk on Christmas Eve. Woops. Hahaha. It was totally chill, though.

My best friend is an architecture major and he didn't need a portfolio to get into the program. (although I know this isn't true for all schools) But this is something he loves and wants to be (When he finally got to focus more on his major and less on his general studies, he was so excited) and, in turn, it's a lot of fun for him. Even though there's still a lot of work put into it. But don't stress too much over this. Do whatever you love. There are a lot of people who don't even use their degree once they graduate and end up getting into a completely different field of work. (I've heard of someone who got a degree in accounting and ended up not wanting to become an accountant and so she became a tudor and loves it more than anything.) And one my friends ended up dropping out of college so she can focus more on her job as a light technician at a theatre. Not that I'm suggesting dropping out, but even though she doesn't make top dollar and is trying to get into a career that would earn her even less, she's completely happy with her career. But if you want to live a cozy life with a stable career and income and whatnot, then get into that! It's whatever makes you happy. And, believe me, everyone goes through this. Or at least everyone I have met, including myself. Just do whatever you love and you'll be fine. If you have to keep changing your mind until you go to college... or even during college a lot of people still change their major... then that's fine.
  3. I've been a Radiohead fan for about 6 years too and I have yet to listen to his solo work. I should probably get on that. Oh, man! I forgot to mention John Mayer. I finally bought one of his albums this year, but I'm still kinda iffy about him. It wasn't until last year that I found out John Mayer sang Your Body Is A Wonderland which I love it every time I hear it at stores or on the radio or wherever I would hear it and then I started to watch a bunch of John Mayer videos and fell in love with his voice... but then I bought his album, and I don't know. It's not as charming. Like knowing I can hear his songs whenever I want to as opposed to catching him on TV or at random places. It's weird, but... I don't even know.

It is! It helps that I love that song, too. You really should. I think Spider's Web is my favorite off that album: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kM665mu6Opc]YouTube- Jamie T - Spider's Web |Kings & Queens (LP)|[/ame]
  5. I wish I got socks for Christmas.
  6. No. Do you usually drink tea or coffee in the morning?
  7. 1. You're The One For Me, Fatty - Morrissey 2. Sackcloth in Ashes - Small Leaks Sink Ships 3. Shiver - Coldplay 4. Seaside - The Kooks 5. Rock & Roll (Shouts Out Back To The Rappers) 6. At My Job - Dead Kennedy's 7. Give 'Em Hell, Kid - My Chemical Romance 8. Reckless - Tilly and the Wall 9. Gagging Order - Radiohead 10. London Girls - The Vibrators

This thread is really old, but I wanted to bump it because I recently became obsessed with this guy's music not that long ago and I can't get over how brilliant he is.
  10. Aw, you look a lot like my friend. :)
  11. I think for people who spend a lot of time online on message boards (this goes for me to), there's a good chance that they like to keep to themselves for the most part. I'm not a social butterfly, but I make much more of an initiative to hang out with people than I did in the past. Still, I think I'm always going to be this socially awkward girl and I get freaked out whenever I'm with too many people for too long and, at the end of the day, would rather just chill by myself for a while.
  12. I don't think I know anyone well enough to want to kill them. D: If you celebrate Christmas, what did you do for the holiday?
  13. Jamie T I don't know why I never listened to this guy before, he's fantastic! I listened to nothing but his music for two weeks straight. Small Leaks Sink Ships No one probably knows who they are, but I have this weird weakness for bands from Arizona and these guys have a really interesting sound. I ended up buying their album and it's really cool. G. Love And Special Sauce I loved these guys a lot when I was younger, but I was going through some old albums and found one of theirs I had that I completely forgot about. I listened to it and become obsessed all over again. Frankie Goes To Hollywood A bit guiltily, but I started to listen to these guys a lot this year. Bomb The Music Industry! I'm surprised I didn't hear about these guys sooner since my friend is a fan, but yeah... Lonnie Walker I think these guys are going to become real big, at least within their scene. Their sound is so interesting. A mix of folk, country, and indie rock. Bottle Up & Go I just had to have their record when I first heard them. They're like a mix of Roxy Music and The White Stripes if they all got drunk together. Love it. Leftover Crack My friend recommended these guys to me and they're really cool. I feel kind of silly for not listening to these guys before, but I'm kind of dumb when it comes to punk that isn't from the 70s/early 80s. A Fine Frenzy My friend lent me their CD and she's wonderful. Ida Maria I honestly never even heard of her before this year when I accidentally stumbled across one of her songs. Kate Nash I had heard a cover she did of Seven Nation Army and really liked it so I decided to pick up her album and I listened to it for a week straight, nothing else but her. Keziah Jones I saw a video of him doing a performance with other artists (one of them being Yael Naim where I just adore) and loved what I heard to the point where I decided to look more into his music. Whole Wheat Bread The same thing as Leftover Crack. I felt kind of silly that I never listened to them before. Although, I really only like their old stuff. Morrissey I hadn't listened to Morrissey or even The Smiths in a LONG time, but when his new album came out I became hooked. We Are Scientists My friend became hooked on this band and, as a result, I started to listen to them a whole lot as well.
  14. That calendar a couple pages back is freaking amazing. I would have never thought of making something like that, whoever made it is creative like woah. I doubt the person I sent my card to is going to post here (which might be a good thing, because my card was kind of lame), but I hope they got it by now and like it and everything.
  15. Emilie Simon's The Big Machine. It's a lot different from her older music, but I really like it.
  16. "This album shows diversity with Karen O telling you to dance until you're dead in one song, and then politely and sweetly asking not to leave on the next." I'll read your blog later when I have more time, but I peeked at what you said about the YYY's and that quote above was beautifully said. Exactly how I feel except put in much better words than I could come up with.
  17. I grew my wings out the other day :)
  18. It's the record, not a poster. Reason why I wish it were mine. :p
  19. Sleeping is for chumps. I wish our bodies didn't need it. Except, I'd be lying because I get some of my most creative ideas from dreams.
  20. I was never good with finding Waldo. Poor Waldo, always lost. um, how has your day been going?
