What does it mean? M.M.I.X
The Oracle just said it has nothing to do with 2009, but rather has something to do with one of their crew members.

Mylo Xyloto Limited Edition Release Date 12/12/11!
I just realised that every little "arm" on this pic has the symbol for each song on Mylo Xyloto, it'll probably be the first pop-up in the book :D

How to string a guitar?
This. It's best to do them one by one to maintain the same tension in the neck otherwise the fluctuations can warp it and ruin it's sound in the long run.

He brought it because it had a white cover more than anything else..

SERIOUS OPINIONS
I was doubting whether we'd see them because I know MX is finished, and so by rights they shouldn't be recording, but when I stopped Chris when he came out of the Beehive he was absolutely covered in sweat, and he'd lost his voice. He'd clearly been singing very very hard, so I think (purely speculation) it may have been for a b-side for a future Paradise EP. Apart from that he said "we're going to some CRAZY country tomorrow, I can't remember where" and that they were about to go off and film the video in the afternoon today.

SERIOUS OPINIONS
I visited the beehive today and met Chris, but before meeting him, I stopped and spoke to Markus Dravs, not knowing who it was, because he came out of the Beehive. We got talking about the stuff I liked and what I thought of it, and when I told him I preferred ETIAW to Paradise he seemed ever so slightly disappointed, but I told him I definitely liked both of them, and explained it was the upbeat and riff in ETIAW that I loved so much, and it cheered him up again haha :D

ETIAW vs. Paradise
Is this poll worth a sticky maybe?
-
Does anyone who disliked this song from the beginning feel it has grown on them since first listen?
Grown on me :) I regret some of the hate I spread yesterday.
-
Paradise is amazing
I take back everything I said yesterday!! I've grown to like it overnight! Focusing on the strings just makes it much more beautiful :)

WE'VE FOUND THE BAKERY!! *NOW WITH PHOTOGRAPHIC PROOF* UPDATED FIRST POST!*
I think they do a bit in both, but mainly in the Beehive, as I said Chris was exhausted when he came out, and he was so sweaty and had lost his voice. He must have been recording something imo.

WE'VE FOUND THE BAKERY!! *NOW WITH PHOTOGRAPHIC PROOF* UPDATED FIRST POST!*
I met Chris this morning! :D Me and a friend took a trip over to the Bakery/Beehive this morning and hung about for about an hour, walking backwards and forwards. When we first arrived, a young guy with curly hair stuck his head out of the Beehive, looked left and right and then went back in, so we knew there were people about. We walked around the area, and eventually sat down on the bench, chatting. After a bit we see a blonde lady in a grey dress come out of the Bakery, on her phone chatting, and hanging about the area, and all the meanwhile there was a taxi hanging about outside the Bakery, so we had it in our minds that the taxi might be for the boys, and decided to hang around a bit. Through walking backwards and forwards, and by observing the taxi driver going up to the Bakery, ringing the bell, waiting in front of the door for 10 minutes, then going back to the car, I think he began to get quite scared of us :P Eventually, another man came out of the Bakery, went across the street then crossed to the pedestrian island along the road and waited there looking around. We bit the bullet and went over to talk to him, and he was a really nice guy, his name was Markus (I'VE ONLY JUST REALISED IT WAS MARKUS DRAVS! I recognised the name!) and we got talking about ETIAW and Paradise, and which I preferred and why. Anyway he said he could neither confirm nor deny whether the boys were about (typical :D ) but I told him we wouldn't knock on the door or anything as far as that, and asked him only to confirm that we weren't absolutely wasting their time (as in they were in London, and not in some other country), which he did sort of semi nodding. We shook hands and he left in a taxi that arrived for him and sat down on the bench again. Eventually, curly haired guy comes out of the Beehive and goes across to the Bakery. Then two minutes later, a tall man comes out and crosses the road heading towards the Beehive too, and I notice the bright red laces on his Nike shoes. I say to my friend (Chris) "It's him!" - "Who?" - "Chris!". As Chris is walking on the opposite side of the street towards the Bakery I call his name, and as soon as he sees us, he holds up a finger to say he won't be a second. When he comes back out, he has a little chat with us :) He was sweating from head to toe, and as soon as I started speaking, he put a finger to his lips to indicate quiet, I thought I might have been disturbing people by talking too loudly, but then he croaked that he'd lost his voice. He'd obviously been singing his heart out in the Beehive. He was very polite, took a picture with each of us, and asked us if we liked ETIAW and Paradise, genuinely opening his eyes with curiosity and smiling, and we replied that we did, and said we loved Coldplay. We then asked if it was worth us loitering around to see the other boys, but he said we probably wouldn't see them as in a bit they were all going to go off in London for a video shoot, and the day after they were going to "some MAD country, I can't remember where". He then signed Chris's AROBTTH album booklet with "Hi Chris, Love Chris" :D and we bade our farewells, and what's more he thanked us! As I said, really polite, nice guy :)

The Strings
Whilst I've been critical today about the song overall, I haven't mentioned what I do like on this song: Davide Rossi. The first minute is absolutely wonderful, the soaring violins, the cello, and the violins throughout the song.. they have the most beautiful harmonies and melodies all to themselves, I feel bad it's just masked by an extremely average song

Who Else Loves the Last 15 Seconds of Paradise?
Like they said on Radio 1 this morning, the end sounds like a cat ran across the piano.
-
mylo xyloto is still being mixed
The video version and mp3 are different, the song on iTunes has the oo-oo-oo's.
-
What Would You Have Named LP5?
I went for Charlie Brown, I reckon the artwork could have been pretty cool if it were related. Also I agree with Mylo Xyloto being a really lame idea if it's what's been said (a language with only two words which in fact they did make up out of thin air)

Massive overreaction
I bet everything I own that Will absolutely despises it.

Massive overreaction
I don't get the people treating them as if Coldplay are your children, where you "love them no matter what". They're a band, they make their money from providing music of a certain quality to an audience, the higher the quality, the better their popularity and fame, and the more money they make. I don't get the people posting here today criticising the people complaining with a mentality of "I love the song, because it's by Coldplay" - if that's the case, they may as well save themselves the hassle and record themselves playing a triangle for 5 minutes because either way you're going to love it. IMO it's good that the fans who don't like the song are being this critical of it, because it then gets picked up and they learn from their mistakes, and it shapes their future music. In my opinion it's a ghastly single compared to other contenders which I personally believe would (and will) fare better than Paradise on radio and to a mainstream audience. And please all Paradise-likers stop with the "Get with the times, you all want old coldplay, well this is a new direction, so stop criticising" - Yes we know it's a new direction, I don't think anybody on here dislikes Charlie Brown, Hurts Like Heaven, Us Against The World or Princess of China (minus future Rihanna inclusion that is), so no, we don't dislike it because Coldplay are moving on, because other songs they have produced are fantastic, but because Paradise is very poor both on its own and in comparison to them.

The "wand"
My first thoughts when I saw the symbol was of: and by Mylo the street artist, but the Oracle is adamant they don't know him....
- THINGS EVOLVE!!!

THINGS EVOLVE!!!
They did evolve, on songs such us Hurts Like Heaven, Us Against The World, Charlie Brown and Princess of China. Paradise was simply a question of not putting any effort in.
