*Massive sigh of relief* haha just kidding. I'm off to bed now anyway so I hope you enjoy your mixtape as much as I enjoyed the one you made for me :)

The 13th Mixtape Exchange - It's Review time.
Fantastic, just give me a second while I get a lawyer to make up a restraining order haha. They really are, I'm glad I'm back visiting the site again, already looking forward to the next exchange!

The 13th Mixtape Exchange - It's Review time.
Hello Fran! Thanks again for a great mixtape, I've got it playing again now :D I don't mind the stalking at all, unless you start turning up outside my bedroom at night then you've gotten a bit carried away…… Haha. I'm glad you like my blog, it's just me saying what's on my mind from that week. With the instrumentals I took a glance while writing and just got them mixed up when typing, no big deal anyway. Well I know it's not Bjork who sings with Tom Jones anyway. This mixtape has finally convinced me to buy Arcade Fire albums, has taught me that I am so out of touch with new music this year and reminded me how great this exchange is! :D

Well it sounds like you've been waiting longer. I've only posted the review 2 hours ago and I'm being impatient and want it NOW!

Stop teasing me! I hate waiting so I hope the person comes online tonight… Or in a few minutes preferably haha

The 13th Mixtape Exchange - It's Review time.
You haven't disappointed me at all, it just means I have to keep on waiting. The reason I thought it was you is cos you're the only one who's asked me my name on this site so when I saw the folder I thought it was you. :)

If I'm being honest, at first I thought it might have been you who made it

The 13th Mixtape Exchange - It's Review time.
My Review Ok then, I've listened to the tape 4 and a half times so I think I'm ready to review this bad ass tape. The folder was titled Mixtape For Jack, me being slow and forgetting about the links in my signature was surprised you knew my name…… *Facepalm*. And the album was titled The Pedlar Sings (mixtape) which was built up of 16 tracks and divided into two parts: "Part 1 (Fairytales)" and "Part 2 (Horror Stories)". I was already liking where this was going and with the interesting artwork I already had vivid image in my mind of what to expect. To the music-mobile! Part 1 (Fairytales) Track 1: The intro has a really nice piano introduction. A soft male voice is followed shortly and you can tell this is a sad song almost straight away. I really like it, suits the mood I've been in for the last couple of weeks and it's soothing to me. I love how it's just him and the piano throughout and at times when the lighter keys are played there's a sense of hope/optimism. Great start to the mix. 8/10 Track 2 This song was stook in my head the other day before I got the tape. I loves it I do! "It's oh so quiet… Sshhh… Ssshhh…" Is it me though or does the intro before she sings sound like the music from the movie "Up"? I don't know who sings this but she sounds like the woman who sings "Baby It's Cold Outside" with Tom Jones. Great, quick change of mood from track 1, it was a gamble if you ask me but it's paid off :) 7.5/10 Track 3 This song sounds familiar but I can't place where I've heard it before if at all. I love the guitar intro with what I think are rattling piano keys in the background. Love how it gets a bit heavier on the bridge/chorus. I'm guessing it's called "I Don't Want Love"? He's got a nice voice, seems very fragile at times. Now he''s ooohing quiet loudly, it normally annoys me but this time I like it. Good track 7/10 Track 4 Another good intro with violins and soft drum beat with a keyboard too. His voice is slightly rugged, I like the line he says on the bridge or chorus (it's hard to tell). "Don't cry, you can rely on me honey", I find it quite romantic. It's a nice song, a good love story told throughout. 6.5/10 Track 5 Loudest song so far, bit of a deep voice from the start with a static guitar in the background. It's more upbeat than the others apart from "It's Oh So Quiet". I like the rolling drum beat throughout, pretty cool. This song gives a California summers day feel to me. Not my favourite on the mixtape but I do like it's funky-ness. 5/10 Track 6 I like this orchestral instrumental. Love how it starts out like a rainy day with chellos and other instruments and gradually gets darker and more intense as it turns into a thunderstorm. Shame it's only 28 seconds long. 8/10 Track 7 Is this Arcade Fire? I don't have any of their albums or songs but it sounds like them. Love the coolness of it, the intro with a woman wooing with a jagged guitar breaking in. The bridge is pretty cool too, love the drums in it too, then again I'm a sucker for drums ha. In fact I'm 100% sure it's Arcade Fire cos he's just said a line about The Suburbs and if I remember rightly that's the name of their latest album. But this song is pretty awesome and if it is Arcade Fire then it's about time I finally checked them out! My favourite so far. 9/10 Track 8 The final track of Part 1 (Fairytales). Begins with repetitive chords and then a guy gradually oohing for awhile with heavy piano keys accompanying him. The guy sounds similar to the man on the opening track too. Ah them drums again, I love them, cool beat in it now. Sounds like he's reminiscing as he prepares for darker days coming (which is appropriate considering part two is called Horror Stories). Bit of an instrumental going on with a cool piano, drum beat and guitar going. I'm looking forward to seeing who this is. Another favourite of the tape. 9/10 Part 2 (Horror Stories) Track 1 Y'know I got my link to download this of Black Rose at like 2am and gave it a listen straight away. I was tired but after this track it wasn't like I wanted to go to sleep anyway -_- It's kicking off Horror Stories in suitable style with howlings, screaming and evil laughs with thunder too. It was a game changer (and a pants changer too). 0/10 for having me look over my shoulder 9/10 for creativity and overall 7/10 Track 2 I've heard this before, maybe for a car advert? It's cool, love the heavy bass line in it. Like I said it's cool, good for the theme being portrayed. 8/10 Track 3 Another spooky intro. Thanks -_- But it actually turns into a cool drum beat and it gradually begins to form into a bit of an emotional one. I actually really like this, it's quite haunting. Not a good recording though as the voice sounds a bit distorted at times. I'm a sucker for these kind of songs though, if it's emotional or quiet then I'll more than likely like it. "Is there no one left to break you… Down" For me that's very sad since that's how it's ended. 9/10 Track 4 A nice acoustic guitar accompanied by violins. The voice is a bit husky and I love the line "this might be the coldest winter since records began". I dunno why but it appeals to me. The chorus is nice and then a new life is breathed into the song when the electric guitar kicks in. A lovely song and I look forward to seeing who this guy is. 9/10 Track 5 Another orchestral track with what I want to say is a harp but I know I'm wrong cos I know nothing about instruments. A very distinct voice comes in, if this were based on a horror story then I imagine this girl as a ghost leading the dead either to heaven or hell. Very interesting choice of song as it's quite melancholic to me. 7/10 Track 6 This is quite upbeat to me, nothing horrory about it at all. The guys voice reminds me of Jack Steadman from Bombay Bicycle Club and slightly of Ian Brown from The Stone Roses. It's a nice song, makes me think of autumn time and leaves falling in a park. I love the repetitive guitar in it, very cheery and uplifting. 7/10 Track 7 The intro's enchanting with a xylophone being played. I like how rapidly it turns dark, it reminds me of the Studio Ghibli film "Spirited Away". A good instrumental, gives me a wintery vibe when there's snow everywhere and it's night time with nothing but orange street lights to guide you home. The choir ahing and the beginning of a man talking does add a sinister touch to it but I like it. 10/10 Track 8 The final track of the tape now. She has a voice like the girl from Bat For Lashes or Bjork. I like the guitar in this, very cool, sounds like it should be in action movie where the hero goes in for the final showdown with the bad guy for the ultimate battle. It's an intense song cos I can feel it building up and there it is as it explodes with noise. You've picked a good end song. I reckon this is my favourite of the whole tape. 10/10 Overall Result 9.5/10 It was the kind of tape I expected and more, really enjoyed it and will be listening to it many times in the future. For the mood I've been in lately this tape suited it down to the ground which is what I needed to be honest. I look forward to seeing who made this and of course the track list. Thanks again, I've done the exchange 3 times now and I've yet to receive a bad tape!

The 13th Mixtape Exchange - It's Review time.
Just began listening to my mixtape :D I'm going to be honest and let my partner know that I will give you a full and detailed review but it'll be sometime in the middle of the week though as I'll be busy all this week, sorry :/

The 13th Mixtape Exchange - It's Review time.
Phew, thought I was going to get told off by someone. Well I hope the person I made it for won't mind, I think it flows pretty well and when I've listened back to it, it feels like it runs through it quickly :)

The 13th Mixtape Exchange - It's Review time.
Woops…… if that's the case then I've only just heard that for the first time after submitting the tape and it's an hour and a half long. I would delete tracks no problem but then I'd have to have a mental breakdown after cos it'd reck the flow of it haha

What works for me is clearing every last detail of the song on iTunes and it should automatically do it to the original in your folders

Create an account for free, it's a perfectly safe site to use but any file uploaded can be a maximum size of 200MB, if it's over that then you'll have to pay for a premium account unfortunately.

Thanks both of you, tried Rapidshare but it's gotten very weird since I used it last. Sendspace seems to be doing the trick so thank you :D

The 13th Mixtape Exchange - It's Review time.
I tried using Media Fire but my file in .zip format is 213 MB and the limit with a free account is 200 MB :/ does anyone know another site you can upload to? Otherwise I'm screwed :(

The 13th Mixtape Exchange - It's Review time.
It is, some artists from it are on the spare one appeared on the one for you :) Also I've decided on which one of the two to send to my partner :D Will be sending it to the organiser tonight. To my mixtape maker when compressing the file can you make it a .zip file and not .rar if possible? It's cos I can't open .rar files and then I'll be sad :(

The 13th Mixtape Exchange - It's Review time.
Well I had a good idea what wanted on the original mixtape but since I've had time to dwell over it I went and made another, I both really like them but dunno which to pick for my partner. When all reviews are done if anyone wants to hear the other that got left out just ask :)
-
The 13th Mixtape Exchange - It's Review time.
I've made two mix tapes for my partner, playing them both and throughly examining them to see which one is better. Possibly hardest choice I'm gonna ever make. Damn I've missed doing this

Hurts Like Heaven full music video...
I've a few or maybe just a couple of things about the song and the MX era, depends on how tired I really am right now haha. Anyway, HLH is one of the few songs I like of MX so I am glad to see it got a release. Considering I got so excited for the release of MX last year and then felt so disappointed by the result, I cling to the songs I do like even more like HLH and UATW. No offense to those on this site but it even ruined Coldplaying.com for me for a long time too. So I'm glad that this track is getting heard/seen by everyone. I do like the video, think it's a good concept but lacks a bit of detail to the story they tried to tell. I don't like the future comics due to come out though, think it's a desperate way to get more money out of fans (but that's just my opinion). And it was mentioned in a few posts on this thread about POC being a better video and some disagreeing. All I'll say is everything about POC is utterly shit and it's the worst thing Coldplay have ever done and probably will ever do as a band. And finally, it's good to be back on the site and hi again to everyone :) Hope I didn't piss off too many with some of that but glad to say it all haha.

The 13th Mixtape Exchange - It's Review time.
I used to have the two that were made for me until recently. My laptop needed a clean install and I lost everything on it including the mixtapes. I'm sick over it especially since my last one "Where The Spirit Dwells" was so great and I can't download it again :(

I was just taking a trip down Mixtape memory lane and came across my mixtape that was for you and the one I received. Hoping for another good mixtape again :D
