  1. I haven't been on the site for a long time but I'm glad I've popped in in time for this. Count me in :)
  2. Today it's Lovers In Japan (acoustic version). Such a beautiful piece of music, I like it more than the album version.
  3. i saw them in dublin last month on the 2nd night and the setlist was different to the first night apparently. i haven't been on this site since before the release of fallen empires i think. The new album is great, i love the amount of variation in it, they experimented with new sounds the right way. There's some powerful songs on it like The President, TIEYA and The Garden Rules and a lot of vibrant and upbeat songs too, they've done a great job and have fitted them in well with the old stuff live.
  4. This. I do like Mylo Xyloto but I feel that the best memories come from the other albums and that includes Viva. For me there is a song on every album before MX that I can feel connected to whereas on MX the only song that comes close is Us Against The World and that's only near the end of the song. I think Coldplay, mainly Chris are too paranoid of what the public think especially after the things that happened during the Viva era and this has majorly effected the new album. In my opinion and others that I know too, think that they've aimed this album at the people who follow the top 40 kinds of artists to try and shake off the bad vibe people have towards them. Maybe in the future Coldplay will do something similar to what made them famous who knows but to be honest I doubt it.
  5. please can someone email me the link to the leak, i have it ordered but won't have it till the end of next week and i just can't wait, i'll be so thankful to anyone who does!
  6. Charlie Brown 9 DLIBYH 1
  7. i still buy only cd's, i like having to make the effort of going into town and then searching for the album I want and then adding it to my collection. I do download certain albums when they leak (like MX) but when it's released I'll still go out and buy it
  8. for me a coldplay song that's made me shed a manly tear would be Everything's Not Lost and Fix You. Us Against The World is good but not good enough to make that happen……… again I'm off now to go and do manly stuff like spitting and making rude jokes
  9. so what about coldplay letting the bbc using clocks to promote freeview years ago. Glee using fix you on the show less than a month ago and the many films that have used a coldplay song over the years?
  10. 6/10 The Temper Trap
  11. hallo all, just wondering when did the band drop ENL from the setlist? I haven't watched them live since I saw them at Oxegen and I saw the setlist for rock in rio and noticed it wasn't there. :(
  12. I voted for UATW, that song just feels so powerful to me, love it. My top 5: 1. UATW 2. HLH 3. CB 4. UFO 5. UWTB
  13. i have a iTouch 4 and i'll be syncing this on the next time i update my ipod. could you do it for a Sony Ericsson Xperia? it'd be awesome if you can :)
  14. I got it today too! :D first one to get it in Cork i'm assuming since HMV opened early and I was the first customer of the day. I bought it with the silver cover on the front and then the graffiti cover is on my ipod artwork. I notice a big difference in the sound in comparison to the leaked version. It seems to be cleaner if you know what I mean. I have the same thing with albums I've bought on their release date, the artwork isn't actually taken from the CD it gets it from the iTunes store. I know the album's out today but as you probably know iTunes is a bit retarded sometimes lol. Just go on to google images get the cover you want and save it. Then right click or ctrl and click if you've a mac and then click get info. Go then double click on artwork and select the pic you want for the album cover. hope this helps :)
  15. I've done it starting from the EP's and working my way through, haven't done it yet with Mylo Xyloto but that's understandable since we've only had access to it for a few days. I've done it with loads of artists like Snow Patrol, Muse, Foo Fighters (took me a day and a half), Kasabian and Arctic Monkeys. It's a great way to pass time or just reminisce :)
  16. 1. all of MX, the only problem for me is that it should be louder 2. Johnny's guitar solo and the 'whoa' part of Hurts Like Heaven 3. The instrumental part of Us Against The World 4. Johnny's little guitar riff just before the chorus in Major Minus 5. The end of A Hopeful Transmission/Beginning of Don't Let it Break Your Heart 6. The change in Up With The Birds, specifically those kind of screeching noises that sound like some kind of bird to me. Gives me great imagery in my mind of birds flying in a V formation
  17. No Bombay Bicycle Club
  18. yeah i agree, they should've had will's voice louder or equal at least with chris's vocals. that's the only flaw I can find in the song though.
  19. Parachutes A Rush Of Blood To The Head Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends Mylo Xyloto X&Y I'm surprised to see throughout this thread that Parachutes was ranked so low by a lot of people :O
  20. This and HLH were the 2 main ones I had looked forward to most hearing on the album. HLH disappointment me a bit but UATW surpassed my hopes, it's just so beautiful and simple. When they all come together in the song playing an instrument each (especially the organ) it almost takes my breath away. I rate it (in my opinion) enough to put it in my top 10 Coldplay songs. Needless to say I gave it 10/10.
  21. Wow, that's what it feels like to have someone on this forum to agree with you (it's been awhile haha) but for me I think UATW is one of the only songs that make me think this is the Coldplay that we love and know. The only song that comes close then in my opinion would be CB
  22. for me it just has to be UATW, I know a lot people will disagree with me but I think it's one of the best songs they've ever done, it's definitely in my top 10 Coldplay songs. It's just so heart breakingly beautiful and brings out emotions in me (which isn't something that happens too often).
  23. I went with part 1. I just love HLH, CB and UATW also MX as well as an intro. Paradise would be my least favourite song on part 1 and 2nd least on the whole album. Can't wait to get an actual physical copy of it on friday now
  24. to be honest like ETIAW and Paradise the album is one of those that'll grow on you. I gave it an 8 because I think the acoustic songs and more slow tempo ones are good and then the more upbeat ones like CB, HLH and DLIBYH are really good and full of energy. I'm still struggling with Paradise and I'm just about getting through PoC. I think the Mylo Xyloto and A Hopeful Transmission are good build ups for their following tracks but M.M.I.X is a waste of time really. It surpassed my low expectations and I think although it's a good album it's still time for Coldplay to say goodbye to Brian Eno.
  25. what's the difference between MX Graffiti cover and the Vinyl cover?
