But on the other hand, I don't know where exactly most of the states are located in USA. :S I was really surprised to see academic people from USA not even knowing if the country they were visiting was a country or a city and what language they spoke or where in Europa they were. I can imagine that you don't get that in school, but if you are going to work there for a while, you should at least know what language they speak or which country you are in, right? But then again, I saw Fox News talking about Egypt while pointing at Iraq on the map. :P Is there already anything known about why the guy did the shooting?

No. I rather think of sexual orientation as a bar. Upper left there is 100% straight and upper right 100% gay. In the middle bi-sexual and most people find themselves close to one end of the bar but this can change during their lives and also ... see how I placed being homosexual on the right? It's because it's not wrong but right! :D Next to this there's also different ways you can love a person. You can love someone as family, you can feel sexually attracted to someone, there might be many ways to love someone. Adoration is one of them. You might be totally obsessed with someone without being sexually attracted to the person. Love his personality, his ideas, just the way he is, you know, while feeling that you are still 100% heterosexual. So yeah, I can relate to that :)

Wooh, thanks Wabbit! I saw the video's but sometimes didn't get all the guy was telling (he tells so monochrome/boring - sorry). Yep, he says indeed that the parents of Mylo were the original Sparkers. Thank you for clearing that up!

^ Some already have it. I don't know, it doesn't change that much for me. I already felt a bit in that Silencia world when I heard the album before knowing of the comic. The only thing that changed is that the boy and girl in the songs now got a face (another one - I already made up a face for them somehow). Maybe because I already heard so many references to a George Orwell world?

Yes, yes, yes, great idea! It is too early for a full analysis, sure, but we can already clear up some things that were not clear to us before (or simply seen differently without the comic). About your Charlie Brown analysis ... I also think this is from Mylo's perspective. I don't think he talks about the hypnofeed, because the Sparkers are against that mind-numbing device. It is what spreads the lies and keeps the people dumbed down. The hypnofeed might also work so well because it is such a contrast between the real world in which color and sound are bleached out. If the real world would be so colorful (both visual and soundwise) than the hypnofeed has nothing substantial more to offer. The Sparkers being the Lost Boys, they should not feel a need for the hypnofeed. They create their own colorful world. It is not a drug - the hypnofeed, that is what the drug is that the common people use. The Sparkers have art and can express themselves enough to not need mind-dulling feeds. The first pages in the comic already reveal that hypnofeed works as a drug and is highly addictive. Silencers are not supposed to use too much of it, Rex says, yet Mylo cannot suppress his need to use it. The way he lays in that ally makes me think of a trippin' junkie. I am sure that that was the intention of the drawer. I think that the song Charlie Brown does not belong to this part, but will come later on. Perhaps when he decides to take a look into the rebellion world. I don't know how you, wabbit, came with the idea that Mylo's parents were Sparkers. Was it said somewhere? I can only recall that Mylo was raised an orphan and that Aiko and Lela were his parents. I like the idea though and hope it is like that. - Anyone wondering if this ability to create Sparks is in any Silencian but that those (bands) shown on the fingers and numbing by the hypnofeed somehow supresses the ability in them? I think Sparks are not only a metaphore for music and visual art, but also of creativity in general, philosophy and thinking for yourself, criticism and skeptism.

I'd add that the race of Irdoks does not only rule Silencia, but more (it says in the comic). That's probably why there's only 13 of them on Silencia, but as far as we know this can all be a lie, because they are one big lying bunch eh? ;) I think you gave it a good go. I only think that with the last point here you are a bit off, because the Irdoks don't say that color and sound in the city are made by Eaters, they merely scare the people by saying that color and sound attracks eaters. According to the rebellions the eaters are a lie. We read that from the grafitti they leave: “the eaters are a lie”. Btw, I love the grafitti and sparks. It's a mixture of various styles and so nice! :} Rex says in the comic “I’d rather be wrong than sorry”. We all know the expression should be “Better safe than sorry” which means the opposite! I think they used the expression deliberately wrong to show how wrong the world has become. Moral rules we live up to like ‘by doubt you can better be safe than sorry, because we don’t want to get the innocent hurt’ are reversed here like in 1984 (the book of Orwell that Coldplay already said to be inspired by). In 1984 they have an over controlled state like here that they keep going by simple slogans as we see in the comic. “Work Hard” and “Silence!” They are everywhere on billboards. Propaganda. This is all 1984. Even the story of a guy that is in the team of controllers to keep the masses (proletarians called in the book, but they seem to be the same as the people in the comic wearing those hypnofeed helmets) but gets wakened up by a young girl who seems a rebellian, that is also in the book. Many, many parallels as I could already find in the lyrics of the album, no even more, the artwork like the eye symbol, even that is all 1984. I don’t think it’s a copy though. For one, many things are heavily based on the ideas of 1984 nowadays, just because the idea was so ground-breaking then and later on we found so much truth in the book that was still completely fiction when written. Another thing is that here we don’t know how it will end. The book is written by a great visionary that rather told the hard reality than a romantic story with a fairy-tale ending. Coldplay though I don’t know if they are capable - and more - willing to let a story end that way. Because there are so many parallels with the book 1984 I really recommend people to read it. Besides, it’s also a great book in general :P I am so following this :} I am such a fan of the comic already. I love the idea of having all these little seemingly loose things of this era coming together in here, like the hypnofeed, like who is this Mylo? Even the symbols as rafaelchampion already noticed, the transmission symbol is on each hypnofeed helmet :) It deepens the CD and the CD deepens the comic.
