What do you study
I studied Biology-Ecology, minored Philosophy although the Dutch system doesn't really do minors, but I liked it so much. Now I am doing a PhD but not a medical one

The 12th Mixtape Exchange
Hopefully this will also mean that everyone will review the mixtape they'll get. I'd like to think that only the more devoted people signed up this time :P Anyway, maybe it'll help to post my last.fm for the person making a mixtape for me ^^

Should i get a credit card?
Hm, I missed in the first post why you'd want/need one. I think that's very important. If you don't need it, then don't take one. The bank offers you one, because they can make profit from it, not because they feel you need one. I think for most things your debit card will do and if you need a credit card, you can always ask your parents (or use paypal instead in most cases). I think that credit cards give people unecessary temptation, so if you don't need one, don't get one. You might feel responsible now, but a credit card might change your behaviour. Also, you said that you'll be out of high school soon. Maybe after that your life changes in a way that would make you feel more tempted to use the credit card for no goods.

I know this is Blakexy's thread sort of, but I liked the thread being so general, so I think I will whine in here. (...)

Recommend instrumentals (I love this one)
Mark! Some great contributions too! I'd liked to have added them as well. Good :) Yeah, I even make up stories or just imageries when listening to pieces and not knowing the story behind it. The song of the Piano movie I knew for example, but not the movie, but I found the song so beautiful that it even lost some of its glance when I found out it was with the movie ... :embarrassed: My bf just found out that I have the books of the Twilight series and he went like "Seriously? SERIOUSLY?" hahaha, what could I do? The proof was there in my bookcase :embarrassed:

Apparatjik
The Mew forum is dead nowadays :'( Mew should soon show something of themselves otherwise the forum stays in this dormant state. Well, new material is in the make and new gigs announced, so I hope soon the forum gets back alive! I know the Apparatjik guys are all pro Mac and iTunes and so, but I am glad to have found the final album also on amazon.com because I always have troubles with iTunes :( :D

Recommend instrumentals (I love this one)
I don't know if you like that particular song because of the attached sentiments, because it reminds you of the movie. Would you have liked it without it? Just wondering because I don’t know if other instrumentals, especially ones that accompany a movie, would be of your liking if you have not seen the movie. Anyway, I’ll give it a try. These are some instrumentals I like very much: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKw5mbcE7VY]Brain Eno – An Ending (Ascent) - YouTube[/ame] (Yep, Guy Berryman made this with his fellow Apparatjiks:) [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OK6tmhRSy-8]Apparatjik - Frozen Fingers - YouTube[/ame][ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0kGAz6HYM8]Inception Soundtrack HD - #12 Time (Hans Zimmer) - YouTube[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SnP81ckrWq4]Mew - Circuitry Of The Wolf - YouTube[/ame][ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nk4GxG6wO4E]Colours - Jonas Bjerre - YouTube[/ame][ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=prZ4RWWku7Y&feature=related]Howard Shore - Soundtrack Lord of the Rings - YouTube[/ame][ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZeA0PbjcdI&feature=related]Michael Nyman – Soundtrack The Piano - YouTube[/ame]

THE MAN is druggin' me up man
A friend of mine has troubles sleeping and is on meds. She lacks melatonin. She is now dependant on the melatonin pills (as soon as she stops she can't sleep) and can't drink alcohol-containing drinks. It was used – I think - so she could get her natural rythm back and quit, but that didn’t happen. Not so weird, finding out later that she has Asperger and people with Asperger often have low melatonin production or none at all. The pills also make her have a very dry mouth. She got it after her melatonin level was measured each hour of the day. I did the same test, because I have sleeping problems as well. My melatonin levels were fine though (very high but only from eight/nine o'clock onwards so that’s good!). Have you had a sleep study? Or at least a test to see if you don’t produce melatonin or hypocretin or lesser than you should? Why did the doctor subscribe the sleeping pills? Zolpidem tartrate is usually subscribed for insomnia, you have troubles falling asleep at night? Just asking, because I am not a fan of doctors that just subscribe a pill instead of looking at the cause of the problem. It might be that the pill will help you recover from insomnia, but alternatives might just as well. Sticking to going to bed each day the same time, for example, or melatonin (though you have to eat a lot of banana’s after dinner to get that in effective amount naturally). Or, as Destrokk said maybe, there is another problem underlying this all and fixing that would also solve the symptom (which is insomnia). Another friend has insomnia and started using pills, but the pills are not for treating insomnia but for the psychological problems that led to her sleeping problems. It seems to work :) Anyway, although I am not a fan of pills I guess trying out for a few weeks wouldn’t harm that much and might work well. What else would you do against the sleeping problem?

STOP DONKEY CRUNCHING
For the 'new craze' it's not very well known  Sorry, but this seems like a late April fool's joke. I can't take this serious without any more information that seems legit. TwistedPolitik, you knew this Tommy or family personally or you just joined a facebook group that popped up on your facebook friends update page?
