There's simply too much music I want to hear to buy it. So I download and listen to it and if it pleases my ears, I buy it. If I love it, I probably buy the special edition stuffs and vinyl too. I know that without downloading the music first I would listen to waaay less music and therefore miss out on a lot and therefore also buy less. My 'stealing' helps them sell it.

Yup, and like in the Netherlands it is not even allowed to carry pepperspray with you. Carrying a weapon with you for feeling more secure is very dangerous. It is just this that might make it easier for you to react defensive when you should just surrender and let them get what they want. Things get ugly when you come up with a weapon, this might be when the knifeholder stabs. I think it's better not to carry a weapon so there's less chance they'd hurt you. Also, Mew videoclips are still shown on TV and even their music is used in advertisements - just check out a certain Scandinavian shoebrand and their 2011 commercial. It is still aired here on Dutch tv. It has Mew- Beach in it. It's just a video :confused: they just play music and Chris sings/playbacks. How would that reflect such a thing as a bad mood within the band?

omg, this guy just won't stop creeping. In the end you will merely help him by hurting his feelings right now, I mean, by telling him straight in the face that you don't and never will like him, that you feel very unfortable with him around and that you don't EVER want to talk to him again or see him even looking at you, he will hopefully stop fancying you (which is a waist of time) and then he can move on. I had to go offline, but now I am back! :D and could write it down, but I don't know if it's clear :S “if she's from a different family, she is a Princess” Okay, for one, being from a different family doesn’t automatically mean that this other family is a royal one, so her being from another family doesn’t necessary mean that she is already a princess. So, there you go. Also, her becoming or should have been a princess can have to do with what happened with the King even if they are not direct family. For example, is it possible that her mother could marry a prince so that they become King and Queen and then she’d be the princess? Or she simply would have been a princess because her life with him would be so rich and wonderful and they would feel like they rule the world (which is what would make him feel like a King)? - This is what I think is going on in this song. Anyway, was I right with thinking that you were basically saying that she’s the daughter of this king and has/had a romantic relationship with him?

She sings 'I could have been a princess, you'd be the king' It's both set in the future (hence the 'd') and related to eachother as in he would only become a king if she would have become a princess, at least that's how I read it. I don't understand how this would hint at her only being concerned with becoming a queen. If so, then I would expect her to sing 'I could have been a queen' instead of 'princess'. She also says how he would have a ring, not her. Also, I think people are taking this king/princess thing too literal. She's not talking about how they would become a royal couple, she's talking about king/princess as in feeling that they both would rule the world when being a happy couple. Yep, now you can find that deep as well ;) Do you think that makes sense?

Okay, hahaha, that rules out my suggestion about them having used an ancient Chinese tune. Slight similarities? I think they used a proper sample of a part of Takk in there. Agree though that the song in it's whole is similiar to that Vietnamese song and not to Takk, but that's also not what I have been saying before and neither what Coldplay did when they mentioned Takk in the CD booklet. Sampling is something different than saying that you copied a melody or were inspired by a song.

They are so funny :| Takk is definately in there. When you listen to the transition of U.F.O into Princess of China, then you'll hear Takk. What does that have to do with what I wrote? Sampling something doesn't necessary mean that most or even the whole melody of the song is like that sample.

There's several kings in the world, so any could be her father. Why would the king in this story be the father? I think the system works the same in UK as in the Netherlands. A woman that marries a prince or king, become automatically princess or queen, but a guy that marries a princess or queen is not automatically a prince or king. In the Netherlands we have had for several generations already queens but no kings, they were princes instead. But this doesn't work the other way around! So if the Rihanna person would have married the Chris she would have become automatically the queen. So ... I guess we shouldn't take the lyrics like that. She's just singing about how she feels the future could be like, and in there she is seeing Chris as being like a king - not really being a king! - and she would have felt like a princess - not be a princess!

I have seen this before about the song. That the lyrics are Oedipus complex blah and/or just incest, but really; a princess is not necessary the daughter of every king! Who says that the king in the story is the father of the princess? There's many kings and only one is/was the father of whatever princess. Also because the story is a love story I refuse to believe that they would be relatives, it makes much more sense to think of the princess as the daughter of someone else than the one she's in love with. King + Queen makes more sense, I agree, the lyrics seem not so carefully thought through. I hope some interviewer will confront Chris with this once :D
