Yeah, think that if you (Nature) were genuine interested in why people love the album, you should have been more careful with the way you wrote the first post. I don't know if you want to know the reasons behind people loving the album or if you just want to tell people that they have to stop loving the album because they are blinded fools that need to understand the truth. How come that the amount last.fm shows differs from the amount of plays iTunes shows? 955 versus 108 is a big difference or does iTunes show the repeats of last week/last 24h? I also did some calculating and if you listened to the album since the leak of 17 Okt, then (assuming you are awake 16 hours a day) you have spend 1/5 of your time listening to Major Minus alone. You listened to the others a lot too, how do you manage that? You listen to music while you eat/visit the loo/cook/work/have school/talk to people? (pure interest/curiosity)

I wouldn't even accept the little gift he wants to give you for Remembrance Day. You really have to make him know that you feel uncomfortable by all these shit things he does. It’s a nice review. Just some things that I wondered while reading: I miss kinda, the mentioning of George Orwell’s 1984 which is a pity because you seem to recognize a lot of it in MX. I know that Muse ‘s The Resistance is said to be mainly influenced by 1984 and yet I feel that Coldplay’s Mylo Xyloto has turned out to contain more 1984 than The Resistance. As you say it breaths ‘panta rhei’ and the problems society cause to date. It’s also about man/woman in the setting of what it's really about. Perhaps no one dares to say it’s 1984 because Coldplay says in interviews the album is inspired by New York graffiti and the White Rose movement, yet they don’t explicitly mention 1984 while Muse did. One thing about the whole understanding reality thing: aren’t the only verifiable foundations you mentioned a paradox? And how could mimicry possibly canal feelings anywhere and at once? :S Btw, I’d love to see chuck kottke’s reaction on your MX impressions. And Dear Great Name Bearer :uhoh:, I think we’ve just encountered a statistical fallacy. :P You should know better if you were to be the smartest around here. Here you say something! I know indeed fellow atheists who are way too occupied with spreading the word of how stupid religious people are according to them. They actively look up forums to vent about how stupid believers are and they also hurt their friends on facebook with posts about this. Regarding atheists I found an interesting quote: :\

It's not the fact that Chris' voice is sped up that makes them excited, it's the idea that this four times speed-up might be done to make it sound like Snoopy, another character of Peanuts. I, for one, had already read that thread. Taliaa, thanks for letting us know. I totally missed that Guy had been saying that. So the song title didn't come after they made the speed-up effect, but before I guess. Yeah, I am still curious if Coldplay did the speeding up in relation to Snoopy/Peanuts. (btw, why is this thread in MX general and not in the Charlie Brown subforum?)

Funny thing about the whole Mew/Muse fight was also that they mentioned the one time that radiohead fans invaded coldplaying.com :lol:

This reminds me of the one time someone said on the Mew forum (yeah who the fuck are Mew? Doesn't matter) that he thought Muse was detesting. All hell broke loose :lol: Muse fan felt personally attacked by this and called her Muse buddies to come over and defend Muse and shit over Mew. As a counter attack some Mewfans went over to the dark side to bash Muse and their fans and got banned pretty quickly (of course). It was good fun. Also really immature.

I think people have already given their reasons as to why they hate the song all over this forum section and it's not mostly just because it features a pop singer. The thread Princess of China: Worst Coldplay song ever? already covers this up. Corcus and Rudy eg. give their reasons to hate the song and it's not even about featuring a pop singer. Why would there be another/separate thread about hating the song/someone saying he thinks it's a fantastic song?

Thanks for bringing that up. That's why I said agnosticism or atheism and religions. Some religious people are so ignorant when it comes to other religions or other views of life. I was baffled last summer when a friend of mine who I invited over for dinner started talking about a guy who was a horrible person according to her. He was rude, without any moral, selfish, just a complete ass all together. Then she finish-up with saying: "basically he was one of these 'atheists', you know, atheists are without empathy, morals, and anti-social. The worst kind of people to walk the earth." Me and the others just sat there flabbergasted. I knew the one sitting beside me used to be a Muslim but was now like me an atheist leaning towards agnosticism. And she knew I was kind of the same. So after a painful silence I felt I had to say:"Atheists is just a word to describe people who don't believe in God. That's all." She turned out to really not know what atheism stood for and thought of them as psychopaths. Thank you whoever priest that has been preaching that to her! :angry:

Yeah, Charlie Brown could be a metaphor for Mylo, the male character in the MX story. So maybe it's the other way around, they came up with the title and then decided to add that sound effect in the song. (but the song had another working title before when I guess they had already the sound effect in it - so I still don't know, haha!)

Really? But it would be a nice explanation of why the song is called Charlie Brown. Although then it would have made more sense to name it Snoopy. Hm, okay, I’m not sure if this is it. It also reminded me of Kanye West instead of Peanuts when I heard the sound effect or even the remix of Professional Widow where they also start with a speed-up part of the song, or Spaceman. When I think about it, this has been done many times before :S But then again, maybe they were thinking of Peanuts when they made the sound effect. Let’s hope Coldplay will share a light on that once in an interview.

I have two dear sisters and this weekend we have been hanging and because we don't see eachother that often we do tell eachother that we care about eachother and of all people in the world - yes including the guy I'm 'dating' right now - they mean the most to me. I'm terribly sorry that you lost your sister, for you and the whole family.
