  1. Gosh, people keep saying they're weirdos or freaks. Since so many are saying that, guess what?... it means you're not a weirdo or freak. I used to be the same way, but it just got better over time as I did it more often (partly because of working at a store in the mall and having to call customers, I just got used to it). Plus, I followed my own advice... see my siggy...
  2. Um, not really. I just think the flirty bantering you two is too cute. Oooh, wait, I think I hear wedding bells...
  3. No, you're not a freak, I'm sure plenty of people have that feeling. Is it when you call certain people? Just with strangers, or also with friends and family?
  4. Yeah, this. It would be one thing if they left the person first without cheating. But some people are so insecure that they need to know that there is something waiting for them, in their 'back pocket'. And if they're that insecure to begin with, then you'll have a whole host of other issues to deal with while being with that person, even if they don't end up cheating on you. The fact that you are even questioning it... there's your answer.
  5. I'm about to take my carb-coma nap now...:snore:
  6. I look forward to... - Driving an hour and a half to visit my family (because I can listen to Coldplay during the drive, of course :D) - Seeing so many family members, some of whom I haven't seen in years - Mashed taters and gravy - Green bean casserole - My aunt's sugar cookies - Watching the Detroit Lions get spanked (but I give them credit, at least they've won a couple of games this year) - Playing PFFA on the piano for my 3-year-old niece, who is almost a little Mini-Me - Taking a carb-coma nap :snore: - And finally, driving another hour and a half back home (once again, becuase I can listen to Coldplay during the drive, of course) Oh yeah, and having 2 days off from work is pretty nice, too! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
  7. Hello Jasmina... welcome!
  8. Blaire... how long did it take after the time you submitted your question for the Oracle to post an answer? Was it the next day, a week, a month...
  9. I've already got some things ready to make my card, and I'll work on it the day after Thanksgiving; I'd much rather spend Black Friday at home making a card for a fellow Coldplayer than spending it at the shopping mall with all the crazy shoppers. I'm not sure exactly how it will look in the end, but I know I will have fun making it... I'm hoping to have it ready to send on Saturday or Monday.
  10. Stargirl, although I am not Jewish so I can't say 100% for sure, I think they believe in God, but they don't believe the whole Jesus resurrection thing. (Hopefully I didn't offend anyone here, that isn't my intent.) In any event, back to the topic... I remember in elementary school, which was about 20 years ago for me (eek, that makes me feel so old to say that), at one point we stopped saying the pledge exactly for that reason. That was when the whole "under God" debate started, so the school elected to stop saying the pledge until it was resolved. I'm not sure when/if the school reinstated it. To force kids to pledge to the flag is a bit rediculous anyway, I think. It doesn't really do much good, since most adults don't even know the "rules" when it comes to the flag (which are a bit silly too). Did you know it is a "rule" that you can't let the flag touch the ground, it is a sign of disrespect? In addition to letting it fly tattered, letting it fly at night, wearing it, those are apparently "disrespectful" too. And there's other odd things, like flying it upside down is a sign of distress. WTF?!!? Seriously, there are more important things to worry about.
  11. Hello Ellendiane, and welcome!
  12. Yeah, this is an awesome movie. I also take advantage of the 24-hour marathon. Too many funny parts to choose... I triple-dog-dare you to pick the funniest!
  13. Hey now, don't give us any ideas... :wink3:
  14. secretspy: There is another thread in the Instrument Room called Prospekts March - Full Sheet Music Book. That's what I used.:D
  15. Welcome! I'm sure a lot of people here can relate to your issue. My husband is sick of my incessant Coldplay chatter also...
  16. busybeeburns: you say it's a miserable day, but your mood is 'awesome'? If you're feeling awesome on a miserable day, you have got to be one of the most positive people I've come across... kudos to you!
  17. Cloudy, 50 degrees F. Typical autumn day. Of course, as usual with the ever-changing "Michigan Weather", it will probably be 80 degrees and humid tomorrow, maybe with a tornado thrown in the mix. Or, on the flip side, it might be freezing with a foot of snow and icy roads. Nothing phases us Michiganders.
  18. Yip. I use one. I love it. Started using one after I was getting stenosis/pinched nerves in my neck and head from my previous pillow... one of those contour pillows. Didn't find out until after using a contour pillow for over a year that there is a little teenie weenie warning on the packaging that they shouldn't be used by people who are 5'3" or shorter. Yeah... I'm 5' even, so it completely jacked up my neck. But I'm much better with the feather pillow now! Only downside... sometimes my head sinks so far that the sides of the pillow surround my ears, and I don't hear my alarm clock in the morning.
  19. Wwoooowwww... it is 'interesting' to see how this thread has progressed. Ugh. :freak: For those of you who have learned how to play PFFA (like myself and secretspy), then you know why KingChris may draw a connection to LRLRL. It's easy to spew off "f** no" if you don't really know where he is coming from. When learning it, I thought geez, this is just a bunch of back and forth and back and forth. Quite frankly I like how KingChris went one step further to theorize the origin of LRLRL. I do remember seeing somewhere that Chris really wanted to name a track, or even the LP or EP (I forget which), LRLRL, but that the title did not get the 'Will Champion Seal of Approval'. But he was 'allowed' to give that name to the live cd. I don't know... maybe it was supposed to be the name of a track. On a curious note, if you go to the widgets section on coldplay.com, there is a picture of the sheet music that was scribbled down for this song (which is a little different than the final version), and it looks like it was crumpled up and chucked in the trash. In the upper left corner, you can see where "Postcards from Far Away" is written; but it is written over something else that has been erased... and it doesn't look like the same thing (particularly the 'Postcards' part)... hmmm... But I suppose only the band, and possibly the Oracle, will know for sure. I hope the Oracle answers your question KingChris! :idea2:
  20. My cat just looked at me and said 'buzz' instead of 'meow'
  21. Okay, so after everyone's reaction to The Hardest Part video, I just decided to check it out. First reaction: Who on earth came up with that idea, and how on earth did that get the 'Will Champion Seal of Approval'?!? W T F
  22. Hello there, welcome!
  23. I might be wrong, but in the LIJ video, I think they were writing with their opposite hands. Chris, Will and Jonny were writing with their left hands, and Guy was writing with his right. I know Guy is a leftie, and I'm assuming the others are righties. If that's the case, then you can tell your friend that they have an excuse for having shitty handwriting in the video, because they are not used to writing with the 'wrong' hand.
  24. Hello Ana, welcome!
