  1. I contacted twitter admin and made them delete it. AND FOR THOSE OF YOU WONDERING ABOUT THE POLL... shortly after I created this thread, my internet went out, then my cable, and then my power (for about 10 hours :freak:). SO, now that I am back online, I will add a poll shortly. :nice:
  2. You already know that it's only a matter of time. I'm helping out the cause by being a hipster and not having a twitter account. So what is your prediction? Poll included.
  3. BUMP (decided to do this while deweeding my thread subscriptions) Greg you tricked me. It's been almost a year. :bigcry: Although admittedly, there are some nice pictures/articles in the magazines that I have.
  4. Hi, my name is Carrie. Some people call me Caribou. Some people call me CareBear. I don't have a twitter account. I'm a hipster like that. REBEL
  5. ^ I agree (I thought I was the only one, so now I don't feel so bad).
  6. Okay, so I decided to get a better view that didn't have Chris bouncing around. Screen cap: After inspecting the details of Spare 1 (Lot 43), I think you're right. All the painting lines up properly, and that big chunk of paint missing at the base next to the plug area is still missing (you can see it just under his arm). If you pause the video just right in different spots between 0:02-0:10, you can get a better view (actually, I think it's some of the wood that's missing, not just the paint). Hey maybe Chris was the one that bought it! Maybe he loved it too much, and he just couldn't bare to part with it! You have a good question and I think you should ask the Oracle about it. It would actually be good timing, considering this is the 2-year mark of the auction right now.
  7. Although I already kinda noticed this, it became blatantly obvious in the recent 'Chistmas message to Coldplay' video. There was hardly any guys in it, so when I watched it I was like omg this is so fangirl-y. I think irl, it's pretty evenly split between guys and girls (at least based on the few concerts I've been to). As far as the proportion who actively post on messageboards though, I agree it's definitely skewed towards chics. For example, there are a few guys I work with that are big Coldplay fans, but they certainly don't bother with messageboards and just keep asking me when Coldplay are going to have a concert here. But is the proportion of girls/guys who post here, is that just because this is a Coldplay messageboard, or does that statistic translate to messageboards across the internet as a whole (regardless of the topic)? For example, my husband visits various messageboards all the time, but never actually posts. And yeah I agree with you it has nothing to do with Goopy, so for people to bring her up is moot.
  8. Unfortunately I think the Statue of Liberty is closed until late next year.
  9. you get my vote for best self-bumps ever (although that term sounds a little weird)
  10. ^ Yeah, that sounds about right. And mine stands beside me and then jumps over my head, and keeps doing it. :bigcry: I can't just put her in another room though, because then she'll just cry non-stop and that will wake us up. One time I tried to stop her from jumping over my head, but when I put my arm in the way she was already in mid-jump and she tried to regain her balance by putting her back feet down... and they landed in my mouth! Her claws dug into my gums and lips and it was all bloody and eewwww and I was like dammit Kitty you're so mean! But I still  her.
  11. Yes lots of money, but quite a bit of risk also. Within the past week, 4 escorts ended up dead around here (suspected serial killings). I just made it even more awkward. Doesn't negate my original helpful response though.
  12. this looks just like my cat D: except she does this to me to try to wake me up in the morning, grrrr [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWXigjFm4TM]Cat soothing crying baby to sleep - too cute! - YouTube[/ame]
  13. The guy at TimHo's called me "hun".
  14. I was going to suggest the same thing, writing for textbooks. I know you say that you need more experience to be qualified for writing that stuff, but there are other things you can do. You can draft stuff for review, or you can be the reviewer/editor yourself, write the page margin text... there's lots of things you can do without outright writing the main text. My husband's friend has a degree in english/literature, and he gets ad-hoc jobs from publishing companies for writing in textbooks, reviewing, margin text, all sorts of stuff. He works from home and submits his work electronically. So, if your concern is being able to take care of your parents in the near future, that could be beneficial. You might want to at least inquire about it, it couldn't hurt. Oh, and take a Strong Interest Inventory (or other similar) test if you haven't done so already. Not one of the wimpy ones, but one of the really detailed ones that you can take at the Career Center at your college/university.
  15. Yyyaaaayyyyyy Lions made the playoffs!
  16. ^ I just tried viewing it for a Radiohead concert, and it didn't show up. Maybe it's not fully implemented yet. In any event, for people who are wondering what all the hub-bub is, here is a sample: You can view the available sections based on the color-coded availability legend Then you can click on the desired available section to view/choose specific seats IT'S ABOUT TIME!!!
  17. ^ I just noticed that yesterday when out of curiosity I was looking at availability of Detroit Lions tickets for the Christmas Eve game, you could view/pick specific seating availability. I didn't notice that before. Maybe it's a newer feature on Ticketmaster?
  18. too many drunk threads you make me want to search on that key word and then do a drunken multiple thread merge
  19. ^ just a little bit inside, it's very good when you mix it with the spiciness of the sriracha sauce
  20. I'm going to make spicy bacon lasagna this weekend. / NO, the bacon doesn't replace the noodles, that would be gross
  21. It was really foggy this morning, but now it's just... blah.
  22. ^ Technically scalping is illegal... but I guess if you are a company instead of a regular joe, it's somehow okay. Personally I don't see anything wrong with scalping in and of itself, I don't think it should be illegal. It's just the whole process of the intial purchase isn't really "fair" to everyone, it needs to be a level playing field; and right now, it isn't.
