  12. there were the new songs in oxford more recently. releases are overrated between albums, i'd rather get the gritty demos and early live versions seeping through.

  15. jeez guys they are making a piece of art. it takes as long as it takes. if i was in their position i wouldn't be too committal because it takes as long as it takes, and you could think you are coming close to the end and then something else could spring up. these things take time, especially when you look at the quality which is expected of them and the pressures surrounding it, whether they admit to being affected by that or not. my mate is a really big fan of martin grech and he announced last summer he would be releasing and album in january but there's still no sign of it yet. things happen, schedules change but i'd rather just wait for it to come and it be a pleasant surprise than to keep having dates actually pushed back. i'd also much rather wait another three years for an absolute masterpiece than see them hurriedly release a decent album. they've released so much it's no wonder they aren't banging them out left right and centre, and baring in mind three fifths of the band have been doing their own thing recently it's no wonder it hasn't arrived yet. i'm really excited for a new album but this is a special thing these guys are creating and i wouldn't want it to come in any other way than that the band themselves are happy with. if they start releasing like that chances are their relationships will become strained again. it needs to be more of a natural process. they know what they are doing and what is healthy for them.

  18. i really wanna do my 70's list now and my 80's and my 90's
  19. i still think it's better to force people into making decisions, otherwise it'll just end up into a list of all the albums of the decade. considering it's the best albums of the decade your 21st favourite album of the decade isn't that important as that you are desperate for it to get a point or two. keep it at a constant all the way through. the 60's was twenty or less, i think the other decades should be too. at a push i could whittle it down to five from each decade. it would be difficult but if it had to be done i'd come up with something. make your list of all the albums you like, put them in the order you like them, then just type up the top twenty. it's easily done. if you had a longer list you'd still have to order it anyway so it's not like that is the bit that is troubling you guys. just seems like you want an ego boost by naming a lot of cool albums ;)
  20. hey jude is an annoying song imo. the fact i've seen so many annoying people singing it and putting it on jukeboxes or on at house parties and acting as though because they know that song they are the coolest person in the room cements my dislike for it (which i guess is unfair on the song itself but that's the way it goes). when there's the entire discography to go for and with all the genius they created i don't understand how this can be a persons favourite (that's a side point, i'm not saying anyone said it was). if you've heard everything they've done and that's your favourite you weren't listening properly. i know how people can like it. it's likable music, but like i said before, the stuff like hey jude and let it be is so milked, and could have been written by any other band of the time so it baffles me when it's a persons favourite beatles song when there is so much more out there, which is more unique to the beatles and their genius.
