Moving To Mars

It's a really cool idea, but I don't think they'll do it. At least not within the next five years. I love Coldplay songs in movies. The first time I heard The Scientist was in Wicker Park and that basically changed my life.

I heard MTM this morning, hadn't heard it for a while, and it's SO beautiful... :wacky:

On the one hand I'm still disappointed that it doesn't mean anything... It seems kinda lazy. And with all the confidence they have these days, why couldn't they have named it something 'real'? On the other hand, the idea behind it is pretty awesome. It's not that it doesn't mean anything, it's that it could mean everything. The album will be it's own thing. Everyone can decide for themselves what the title means, when they have figured out what the album means to them. It's artistic freedom in it's purest sense, basically. They have the freedom to spread freedom. So yeah. That hit me just now. :escaping:

Thank you bdevil for passing that on to Phil. I feel so bad about them having heard or read those things, some posts were very cruel. I guess it was a response to the distance people suddenly felt towards the band, because basically they said, "we don't care what you think". That was hard to take at first, but some of us needed to realize that we've got absolutely nothing to say about them. And now, Coldplay's 'attitude' has sort of turned into something positive, I think. And if they feel this confident, how bad can the album be, really? People seem to slowly start restoring their faith in the band. Some have even grown to like the singles. :lol: Right now I feel like they will blow us away with Mylo Xyloto. I hope they do. I'd be very proud.

I still don't know. There's moments where I think this will be a masterpiece and there's moments where I think it won't. At all. So, sometimes it does feel depressing, yes.

I watched it again and I just think he seems more confident than ever. Especially in that last bit. Which makes me happy. And I like that he didn't wear an MX costume. Why would that be? He is promoting the album, right?
