Bass-heavy?
I think you may be right. Will's drumbeat is really the only thing I can hear throughout the entire song (along with the chorus and a really fuzzy-sounding Jonny toward the end).

Coldplay - 'Falling' song in Breaking Dawn Pt. 1 Soundtrack?
Well . . . that was unexpected. :stunned: But I have to agree with you all about the soundtrack being the only redeeming quality of Twilight  Now just to wait until Monday to see if it's true . . .

Predict your rating for Mylo Xyloto
I don't see how Viva has worn off for some of you guys  That's really the only album I can listen to all the way through anymore, and I still listen to DaAHF, Strawberry Swing, and Yes pretty frequently But except for Don't Panic I haven't listened to any Parachutes songs in a while.

Random Coldplay thoughts...
So my mom just walked into the living room and said, "Do you know what's happening almost exactly one month from now?" And I was like, " :dazzled: COLDPLAY'S NEW ALBUM IS COMING OUT!!" Mom: " T__T . . . . . . It's your brother's birthday, actually."

Things I really, really wish Coldplay would do
^ He has written songs worth remembering :P A Rush Of Blood To The Head, Clocks, Fix You, Don't Panic, Amsterdam, The Scientist, and even more recent songs like Strawberry Swing, Violet Hill, Death And All His Friends, Moving to Mars, etc. are all amazing. Maybe the guys are in a low spot right now--it infallibly happens to all artists at one point or another--if that's the case then all we can do is stand by them and stay confident that the next album will be better.

Why is Major Minus so underrated?
Why is it that I always agree with you on everything? :P I've actually grown to like the vocal effects (I mean, there aren't many of them anyway--it's just a Chris / Will duet that gives most of that effect). But I think the major thing that gave it that 'chaos' was the echoes. The echoes were freaking epic, especially during Jonny's solo and on the very last note when they just faded out. And yeah, the bridge is the only other thing that bothers me . . . it would have been amazing if they had added in a solo like the one in the 2003 Live version of ARoBttH. That would have shot MM through the roof on the scale of amazingness. Although I do have to say that I like the acoustic guitar better in the studio version than I do the live :P

Is Charlie Brown THE BEST Coldplay song...EVER??
Amsterdam >> Sparks >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Charlie Brown  Charlie Brown isn't even the best song from this era, IMHO. It's not a bad tune, but it isn't better than the other songs mentioned. @Corkus -- I loved Christmas Lights

Mylo Xyloto: 44.09 mins long? Songs time here.
I think the reason no one mentioned that was because ARoBttH had a very good flow to it--not as good as Viva, obviously, but better than X&Y and Parachutes IMHO. Whereas with X&Y the way the songs were fit together made it seem a lot clunkier. I think a slight change in the tracklisting and swapping out a few of the weaker songs for Gravity and How You See The World would have made it seem smoother. I'm under 18 :P

Things I really, really wish Coldplay would do
THIS. OH MY GOD THIS TOO. Why did they ever stop playing that version? My favorite song of all time is the Toronto 2006 version of Clocks . . . couple that with the new arrangement of GPASUYF and you have the building blocks of an epic gig. :wacky: Also, a huge full-band jam at the end of Lovers In Japan would be awesome

U.F.O. would have to be a freakin' amazing song to be compared to Don't Panic :wacky:

Devastating in its Simplicity
THIS. AND THIS. Now I haven't been here on the forums long enough to know if people always go this crazy over an album release, but from what I've read I honestly do not know how Chris can call us the best fans in the world. First, we criticize for the lyrics being shallow, for the synths that drown out the sounds of a piano pedal being pushed to the floor, or the twang of a guitar string being plucked. We complain that Coldplay has turned their backs on their roots and become just another sell-out pop group that no one will remember in five years' time. Then we criticize for the simplicity. There's not enough there. It's boring. Too little guitar work. The bass drum is too loud. And then the collaborations. Yes, I understand why people would be upset about the Rihanna collaborations or the sampling from Peter Allen and (supposedly) Leonard Cohen, but to say the song sucks or that Coldplay don't know what they're doing before they're heard the song just isn't right. I know people's tempers can get heated--especially at this point when all we can do is sit and wait either for a leak or October 24th--but I feel it's gotten a little out of control at this point. Coldplay have never disappointed us, guys. They pour every bit of themselves into making records for us: the fans. They aren't going to stop doing that just because their style has changed. All I can say is: Don't panic, and don't lose your trust. My apologies for the long post.

Predict your rating for Mylo Xyloto
Parachutes: 7 / 10 A Rush Of Blood To The Head: 9 / 10 X&Y: 6.5 / 10 Viva la Vida: 9 / 10 Mylo Xyloto: 8 / 10 I don't expect MX to be as good as Viva or ARoBttH, but I'm confident that we haven't heard the best songs off the album yet. The last two tracks of every Coldplay album have been amazing, and I don't expect MX to be any different.

Mylo Xyloto: 44.09 mins long? Songs time here.
Hmm . . . I'm surprised there aren't any songs over 5 minutes. Kinda sad about that fact, but oh well, Viva didn't have any and it was great
