This is just as similar as when someone during the LP7 discussions stated that "HFTW has the same tempo as Violet Hill" and we all know how that turned out

That's what I thought as well. I instantly got 'The Hardest Part' vibes from those pictures (a happy sounding song with a very sad story hehe). Oh and... Good to be back Coldplay ers! First post in over a year I think

Am I the only one who gets Charlie Brown feels all over the place...?

I love Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends so much, I sometimes need to remind myself how lucky I was to have experienced the Viva tour on September 9th, 2009. Sadly I can barely remember how amazing it must've sounded, and I wasn't such a hardcore fan yet back then... Oh what I would give for just a moment to experience that same day again.... Hearing Strawberry Swing, DAAHF, Glass Of Water, 42, Lovers in Japan, Life In Technicolor ii and the list goes on... Even though I still love their music today (I don't identify myself as a new -or oldplayer), I sometimes desperately wonder where the Coldplay of that day has gone...

So just listened to the EP and I have to say. Well done guys. When E-Lo first came out, I was a bit underwhelmed but that was because we got our hopes up too much. After a couple of days I started to like the song more and more, and above all appreciate what it stands for. Now hearing the song in context, with the charity and the entire EP in mind. I think this has been a brilliant move by Coldplay. The songs are all very lovely, with a positive message/vibe (like Miracles SS). The songs give me the feeling of embracing the future and that hope is still around the corner. Short review of the songs: Rise Up: (don't know if the guys actually worked on this one) but I really like the instrumental parts, would be cool if Coldplay were to do an instrumental song like this in the future. E-Lo: wasn't fond of the o-lo-e-o-lo-lo parts at first, still don't really know what to think about it but is has a really nice beat and melody, it's very sticky. Timbuktu: really good, I don't think I've ever heard a song like this. Really creative and mysterious. Jonny of course helps the song to higher levels! Voodoo: don't really hear the MX vibes here, but still really nice song, even though I think the buildup towards the chorus can be a little genereic (what else can you expect with David Guetta) but once again the guitar is amazing and the song has a very energetic/positive vibe to it. Overall: the EP, well done guys. It indeed isn't a regular 'Coldplay' thing, and I hope they won't actually only make this kind of music in the future. But as it is a side project, in which the guys clearly had a lot of fun in making it, I think they really did a great job and importantly spreading positive vibes for a good cause. BTW: Do you think there is any chance any of the other guys will be performing at the Global Citizen festival today as well? Only Chris is mentioned but that could be because 'Los Unidades' wasn't really a thing yet when they announced it. Plus, all the songs have been 'performed' by the other three as well.

I'm really excited for Voodoo!

THIS. Now Chris can release all the shitty music with all the artists he wants. And Coldplay can focus on producing true Coldplay songs.

I think that's just a pure fake to get people to register on that website. Not based on any facts whatsoever, probably only on the rumours that have been going around and Dave Holmes' latest remark regarding a possible new tour.

I'm still hoping they're going to release a ''Kaleidoscope intimate live'' album, which means, just the four of them in the studio performing the Kaleidoscope songs live - would be awesome in my opinion. I'd love to hear a proper live version of ALIENS, AICTAIY, Hypnotised and Miracles (Someone Special). These songs don't deserve never being played live.

Noel Gallagher
Another fun fact, as ''Dead In The Water'' is probably the best song on the album (and one of the most beautiful songs written in a long time IMO) the the four chords on which the song is based is 99% the same as Coldplay's O (Fly On) it's even in the same tuning. You can play both songs at the same time on guitar (I tried it myself). Two of the most beautiful songs ever are practically the same haha.

I'm loving the album more and more. Especially Dead In The Water. And wow, how inspired was he by AHFOD (at least on the album design)
