  1. I'm good either way really. I'd like to hear the studio album first but I loved hearing the new stuff slowly over time as well.
  2. I'm going to be pissed if this is the damn concert as the festivals. I want to hear Up with the Birds, and Don't Let it Break Your Heart live
  3. . Well said, I think X&Y is just an average album, but I wouldn't knock anyone for that being their favorite. For me, as full albums I think VLVODAAHF and MX far outstrip their first three. The second half of AROBTTH is largely boring on the album and Parachutes has a few songs I don't care for.
  4. I like more songs on MX than I did VLV but damn VLV was atmospheric. Listening to that album start to finish is an experience.
  5. Up in Flames and Up With the Birds have really grown on me. I like putting on Up in Flames and rolling through the end of the album. While Charlie Brown and Us Against the World are my two favorite songs on the album, it doesn't have that flow like 11-14 does in the first half of the album. I never liked Major Minus and still don't, the only track I have soured on is UFO. I really liked it at first but the more I hear it the less I want to hear it again.
  6. So you went to wal-mart, they acted like wal-mart employees so you went to another wal-mart and bought the album adn then got pulled over for a minor offense with no real consequences? I don't think you know what the word 'epic' means. None of my friends like Coldplay either, but my 4 year old twins and my 1 year old all love it.
  7. They will not play a full set list without Charlie Brown and Us Against the World for a looooooooooong time.
  8. I really don't care where it charts, I like the album because I like the music. As a full album listen, it's their 2nd best album to me after Viva. As individual songs, I'd put Charlie Brown and Us Against the World up there with any of their other hits. Their first two albums are good albums but I can't believe how over rated some people have them. The 2nd half of AROBTTH is largely boring and Parachutes has several songs that pale in comparison to the live versions (Shiver most notably for me) And all the complaining about them not fitting their own stereotype and being more pop (and yes, they've always had pop influences on the album). X&Y sounds more of a pop album to me than MX does.
  9. Track by track here is how I see a loose story: MX - Overture Hurts Like Heaven - Intro to male character Paradise - Intro to female character Charlie Brown - They run away together Us Against the World - Song of intimacy and solidarity for the couple MMIX/Every Teardrop is a Waterfall - Celebration of the good times of the romance Major Minus - Conflict between the characters UFO - Reconciliation after conflict but still tinged with alienation and awkwardness Princess of China - The break up Up in Flames - Depression at the end A Hopeful Transmission/Don't Let it Break Your Heart - Coming out of depression and reclamation of self and positivity after the break up Up with the Birds - Moving on, a little older, a little wiser, the last 3 tracks apply to both characters but separately so that it relates to the listener, male or female That's the story I get out of Mylo Xyloto
  10. Amazing: Charlie Brown Us Against the World Great: A Hopeful Transmission/Don't Let it Break Your Heart MMIX/Every Teardrop is a Waterfall Mylo Xyloto/Hurts Like Heaven Up with the Birds Good: Up in Flames Paradise Solid: Princess of China UFO Eh: Major Minus
  11. I would be much obliged if you could make it for the Droid 2 Global
  12. Chris saying this might be their last album is SOP at this point, I'd be more worried if he wasn't saying that. I could see them taking a year off before LP6 though, most of their kids are in prime childhood years. I also think we could get an EP, a live album, and a greatest hits to fill the gap though, then a new album in 2015 or so.
  13. Charlie Brown Us Against the World A Hopeful Transmission/Don't Let it Break Your Heart Mylo Xyloto/Hurts Like Heaven MMIX/Every Teardrop is a Waterfall Up in Flames Up with the Birds Paradise Princess of China UFO Major Minus Had Moving to Mars been in place of Major Minus I would have really liked every song on the album. Even so, I think this has been their strongest record start to finish for me.
  14. 100,000 people singing along. That's why the VLV performances from the awards shows back then don't even touch the concert versions. I'm actually a little surprised at how well they pulled the studio version off.
  15. This thread pretty much has it right both ways. Charlie Brown will be huge because the hook is so strong and Princess of China will be a huge crossover hit (with accompanying Grammy/MTV/American Music Awards performance)
  16. I can see that, DLIBYH playing over a climactic ending and then rolling into the credits where UWTB plays
  17. Exactly as it is except replace Major Minus with Moving to Mars
  18. I accidently voted Up in Flames when I meant Us Against the World. Up in Flames has been really growing on me though. It's simple but melodic and hypnotic and not as repetitive as people think (He only says Up in Flames 6 times during the entire song). It really comes off as soothing for me and puts me in a great spot leading into the uplifting final three tracks. Us Against the World - Phenomenal song Up in Flames Up with the Birds - Love the second half, first is just solid UFO - Does not feel like a complete thought Love all 4 though.
  19. MX sounds cool and is a great into to HLH, but AHT has just what its name implies, a sense of hope and optimism which is a great contrast right after the end of Up in Flames.
  20. ETIAW and Paradise are already singles I guarantee PoC will be one, probably released around the time of one of the major awards shows so that Coldplay can play it on stage with Rhianna (I highly doubt they collaborated to never play it live together) Charlie Brown is just too strong to not be a single So that leaves probably only one more spot amongst the rest. I'd eliminate DLIBYH, UWTB, UFO, and Uif as not really singles kind of songs. Eliminate MM since it was coupled with ETIAW, so that leaves HLH or UATW for the last spot realistically. I think they'd go with UATW since none of the other 4 are anything like it, UATW being much slower and intimate and yet potentially a huge song. So ETIAW Paradise PoC CB UATW That sounds about right.
  21. Now that we know all the tunes on Mylo Xyloto, what do you think their show will shape up for the MX Tour? Not being a festival closer, I expect it to be a little longer, probably in the 22-23 song range. Here's my dream show for the MX tour: A Hopeful Transmission/Don't Let it Break Your Heart Lovers in Japan Yellow Hurts Like Heaven Life in Technicolor II Paradise Speed of Sound Sparks Violet Hill Us Against the World Charlie Brown The Scientist The Hardest Part Princess of China Shiver Up in Flames Politik Up with the Birds Clocks Fix You MMIX/Every Teardrop is a Waterfall In My Place Viva La Vida Notes: -I love the MX intro into Hurts like heaven, but I think going slightly different would be cool too and differentiate between the festivals and the tour -I like how they do a big flourish at the end of Yellow and think that could have a cool transition into Hurts like Heaven -Sparks and The Hardest Part would be a couple of cool songs to bring back for the tour -I think there would be a lot of room for improve with a chris only version of Princess of China and I liked what little we heard of it live over the summer -Up in Flames transitioning into Politic would make a killer yin/yang moment -MMIX would give them a little time to get in place for the encore and I like how it leads into ETIAW -The first time I heard the end of ETIAW I though it was tailor made for a transition into In My Place That'd be a dream concert for me.
