I don't like either of these two songs. There has been a real buzz about ETIAW you can't deny. Critics who like to take Coldplay down seem to adore it though, which is weird.

Wouldn't be bad, I'm getting a bit nervous about it in a negative way.

Seems like all/most of the songs have a lot of strings and synths on them. I... don't like. Sounds like they're leaving my favourite territory for good to explore more popular and straightforward genres. :( DLIBYH could be better than I'd expected (A Whisper :dazzled:), Up With The Birds is still a mystery. Also, "Martin has rarely sung better than he does when Every Teardrop... " Is he joking? I, and many others, think it's really his poorest singing effort of all time... I rest my case.

I guess only Up With The Birds being a brilliant closer, leaving all the crap behind. I'm trying not to look forward too much, and I'm not excited anymore. The Paradise/Rihanna week practically destroyed my trust in this album.

Haha that's great. A lot of people in their late teens and early twenties have been into Pokemon when it was popular. So who's talking about growing up? In college, Pokemon is considered old-school and cool. But just like Coldplay, the first two generations had cool games (or albums), whereas the later generations/eras aren't interesting and are a way of selling out. I can actually see many similarities here :thinking:

The Hardest Part returned too last night in Johannesburg, in an acoustic version. Funny, as this one isn't on the list either. It hasn't been gone for too long either, it was always part of the Viva Tour shows, also in the acoustic/piano version.

That lyric is quite funny to me actually, I first heard the song when I came back from a camp where it was some kind of catch phrase/running gag to say "this person/game/song is the world" (but in our Flemish dialect, "de wèreld"), meaning "... is awesome".

Good cover. Especially the instrumental part 0:15-0:28 sounds so much better than the original version, it's exactly how I want Coldplay to sound. But I guess bass-heavy string-infused pop sound just sells more records. But after that part I realised that it's actually a bad song (not your fault guys!) because of the lame lyrics. The Pumped Up Kicks snipped provided a great change in a seemingly endless series of para para paradise... Well done.

Hey, just saw they played 'Til Kingdom Come in Cape Town wednesday. That's great, and it's even a song I forgot to include in the list. Plus Shiver which has been added to the setlist again. Seems like they play one or two more songs in their own shows compared to the festival shows. So it's more like expanding their setlist (a tiny little bit), just like tdunk said. Also, nice to see how Amsterdam practically smashes the competition in this poll.

Yeah, it's quite possible that they actually know a lot less then we know. ;) By the way, as much as you love organs, I don't. Simple as that.

Songs that are under 1 minute long aren't necessarily instrumentals, think Parachutes, just sayin'.
