  1. I like how there's like 4 conversations going on simultaneously.
  2. Whoa thanks fresh chocolate chip cookies! And there's a lot, everyone can have one!
  3. Travis almost sounds like all the best things from Parachutes combined and the bad things left out. Yeah Selfish Jean, now that I hear the song I remember it, I think it was a bit of a radio hit (on the stations I listen to) when it came out.
  4. I know a handful of songs. They're great. I listened through the single collection last year. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XDZKN4ftzns]Coldplay - Jonny Goes Jazz (12th January 2001) - YouTube[/ame] Now give me the cookie.
  5. Nice pictures! Good times I guess. Man this is going so fast.
  6. Side indeed. Probably better than anything I heard from MX so far. Can't believe ALL those people in the comment section are so retarded for thinking it's actually Coldplay.
  7. The song sounds vaguely familiar, but I can't remember who sings it. It's not bad actually. EDIT: Travis! That's it. They're great.
  8. It's not a review, it's just written by a no-life blogger.
  9. "Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of your life"? No fucking way. Heard it on a gig eh? They never played it live. And if they did he couldn't remember everything.
  10. Thanks alot! Sounds eerily positive. Can't wait to hear it.
  11. Seems like a really fair review, and finally some reviewer who is critical about their unstoppable desire of creating instant hits and anthems, and the "whoa hoa's" Chris apparently wants to include in every song. I haven't heard PoC with Rihanna yet, but I believe the critic when he says Rihanna is more of a marketing stunt than anything else. I won't like her presence, I think. :( Maybe they're a bit too positive about Paradise. But apparently that's just me, I think I'm starting to hate this song a little more every time I hear it. Up With The Birds will be great... I hope the Brian May sample rumour was only a joke, that would ruin the song and maybe even Coldplay for me (I'm just not a fan of his - nothing worse than Chris talking positively about Will.i.am's music though - apparently Will.i.am's recording sessions in London inspired the boys to record on tour too, only the idea of Coldplay having anything to do with that sell-out... or even looking up to him, I bet Chris adores that man for his BEP music that sells so many records and can therefore only be fantastic, would be typical of Chris, this as a sidenote, had to get it off my chest). Only a few days to wait now.
  12. It's crazy. Never seen such an obsession about an album title (that isn't that cool or special after all). But for Don Quixote, not a chance it will be released, it was more part of the previous era.
  13. How come everyone forgot about R.E.M. (before they decided to "call it a day")? I think they are a better band than the 4 listed above. They have been at least as influential to Coldplay as Muse, U2 and Radiohead. Yet I haven't seen anyone who mentioned them on this whole forum (maybe one or two to be fair), whereas Muse and especially Radiohead and U2 are constantly being discussed elaborately. IMO: R.E.M. > Coldplay > Radiohead ~ U2 > Muse Although I'm a bigger Coldplay fan. Coldplay has its moments where it's better than everything else. But they have weak moments too. And I'm taking everything, including the "new direction" (I'm not fond of) into account. By contrast, I can safely say I like everything R.E.M. have done. Most importantly they have greatly influenced Coldplay and they've had 3 times as much time as of yet to prove themselves, so it's a bit unfair to compare them. U2 have done great things but on the whole I don't like them that much, same for Muse. Radiohead is genius, but I don't like everything they do. And for "most mainstream": Coldplay > U2 > R.E.M. > Muse > Radiohead. But that's relative and most of all irrelevant. They're all mainstream on some level. Just because mainstream is often associated with Katy Perry, Usher and Justin Bieber doesn't mean it's intrinsically bad.
  14. Really? :( Because people don't realise he hasn't been able to do much of what he promised because he's been too busy cleaing Bush's mess?
  15. I'm not counting days, but the election was in June last year, so 16 months. But things are moving, we will have a government soon, within a month. I guess. People here are being cynical about it. I don't like that.
  16. BlackBerry crashed? Seems like the world is going to end.
  17. Damn, Belgium didn't qualify for the play-offs. We already knew this before, but it's sad when you see how winning at home against Turkey (scoring the penalty!) or beating Austria and Azerbaijan would have been enough. It's sad when you see how, apart from extraterrestrial Germany, the rest of this group wasn't good at all and we could have qualified so easily. Even Turkey isn't that good. They've just been a little more lucky. They could make it through the play-offs, although I doubt it, but they won't stand out at the championship in any way. We could be in for a surprise though. But I don't care. :(
  18. It's true, we live in a sad world. And it does keep me busy. And it's not only America. In Belgium, many Flemish people think it will be better when we get rid of the Walloons in the same way as republican Americans think it will be better when they get rid of the taxes. But still, I'm so happy I live in Belgium and not in the USA (sidenote: even though our football team didn't qualify for a big champoinship again). We just don't have the culture of "everyone is responsible for themselves, for their achievements and for what goes wrong, take a gun to protect yourself from the other people and make sure the government doesn't take your freedom away". Sure, there are exceptions (cfr. above) but it's not as bad as in the USA. We don't have to be rich in order to go to college, for example. Yes, there is the Eurocrisis but that is just an example of how world economics are failing because capitalism doesn't work (anymore). I have to admit I don't understand much of those Wall Streetisms and shareholders and banks and holdings and stuff. But I think it has something to do with a small group of people (investors) who aren't democratically chosen but still rule the economics by playing in favour of their own particular benefit. Am I wrong? Anyway, USA, especially right-wing kind of embodies these hypercapitalistic values and views. I'd like to add that everyone in Europe seems to be more realistic than many Americans and we look at the Tea baggers as if they are a bunch of lunatics. I'm glad I live in Europe, I like Belgium.
  19. Up With The Birds. Because it has Leonard Cohen lyrics, which are definitely better than average Coldplay lyrics. I also like the description of the song. But we can't judge before we've heard the whole album, can we?
  20. Of course! I don't understand why in other countries foreign languages are always dubbed. Thanks a lot! I didn't even know that, and I watch Canvas... Not sure about his explanation about mixing all types of music to please all types of people. I haven't been convinced of this strategy. But I'll give them one last chance to prove me wrong next week.
  21. Waarom blijken Amerikanen en Brazilianen plots Nederlanders te zijn?
  22. If there was a link, it would have been posted hours ago.
  23. Just saying eww, there's Katy Perry and Justin Bieber fans on that forum who like Coldplay too. Still, looks like something's moving. But, it could be that either the Indonesian guy will not want to give it away, or him or that person you're in contact with is trolling. I'm not accusing anyone or anything.
  24. Don't know, it doesn't sound like an "electronica drone" to me.
  25. Wait, you're saying AROBTTH is a defining album of recent times? I'm confused now
