Sorry Glastonbury and the others, but WE have the greatest crowd!
I can only agree. It was extraordinary.

Coldplaying.com WINS! in Best Fansite category - BT Digital Music Awards 2011 (Roundhouse, London -
Yeah, we won! It's great. But I didn't vote. Didn't feel like making an account for that. It didn't matter anyway :p Congratulations to the people who worked hard to realise this.

Will You Listen On The 19th?
I don't want to, but I'll probably do it anyway because I'm weak.

DAE think that Major Minus shouldn't be on Mylo Xyloto???
It shouldn't have been on the ETIAW EP. The EP is a mistake (well it's not as it meant straight cash to EMI) as both MM and MTM are album material.

Mylo Xyloto Reviews - Media
Looks like a pretty old, pre-Paradise review. Nothing new. But thanks anyway.

pure nostalgy Remember this?
So many people haven't seen that version? No wonder it is so underrated.

[18-Dec-2011] Coldplay @ Sportpaleis, Antwerp, Belgium
I thought it said orders would be handled and tickets would be sent as soon as the payment has arrived. But you're probably right, it could still take a while.

Coldplay live: the big dare
I could punch myself in the face for not adding Don't Panic :veryangry2:, probably one of my 3 favourites anyway. :D Also, I don't know why I added Talk as an option, it's a great song, especially live, but it's a famous single and not really what I mean when I say "obscure" or less-known song. Still, would be a big plus if they played this again.

Coldplay live: the big dare
Hm, that would be even more unrealistic. It's impossible to collect the core fan base in one small venue. But good point, although I beg to differ: Coldplay can play all kinds of songs in one show and get away with it. Look at how they play Us Against The World, it doesn't ruin any momentum, by contrast, it only adds to the show.

Thanks, I'll add Moses and MTM. Edit, I can't, sorry :(

Coldplay live: the big dare
So, we know Coldplay's live sets have been pretty predictable since a few years. During a tour, they'd usually play the same setlist with a few changes and additions throughout the tour (see 2011 summer festival tour). This set comprises almost the entire new album (Viva La Vida in the previous case) with some greatest hits added to the whole. During the summer festival tour there was some space for more songs as MX was not entirely played, but there's a big chance that for the actual MX tour, starting in Europe this December, older songs like Shiver and Life Is For Living will have to be removed so more songs of the album can be added. This type of greatest hits setlist is good for regular fans who will see the band live once in their lifetime. But, I've seen many people on this forum who would like to see/hear a more adventurous setlist with more unfamiliar, obscure songs. Many other bands have a rotating core of obscure songs that are part of their regular setlists. So why won't Coldplay do this? They're playing a safe bet with all the hits in one setlist, plus the album they're promoting. Though many of us more knowledgeable fans are dying to hear songs like A Rush Of Blood To The Head, Spies or Amsterdam again. Plus, personally, I wouldn't really want to see the same show I attended at Werchter all over again in Antwerp. So this is some kind of dare towards Coldplay, a petition, or a challenge if you will. I know it's some kind of a joke and the band have more important things to think about than just the wishes of a few fans. But I'd like to hear your opinions. What do you think? I added a poll about which songs you'd like to see live again. I'm curious about that. You can select more than one, but please not all of them, try 3-4 at most. :)

Setlist European tour
So you say you're afraid LIFL will be replaced by Paradise, but still Paradise closes your dream setlist instead of LIFL? I'm a bit confused there

Mylo Xyloto: 44.09 mins long? Songs time here.
Singles released after the album will definitely have b-sides, this has always been the case with almost all previous singles.

Mylo Xyloto: 44.09 mins long? Songs time here.
Not trying to burst anyone's bubble, but what is the chance that there will be hidden tracks that aren't mentioned in the tracklist and aren't counted in the album length? Was this the case for Til Kingdom Come during the weeks before X&Y's release?

We've heard too many songs.
I understand the OP. I don't understand the reactions saying "it's your own fault, deal with it"... Coldplay haven't played these songs all summer just so we can put them all in the freezer until the album comes out. It's hard or even impossible for big fans to resist watching any of all those videos going around on the internet. And yes, this ruins much of the surprise the album will or will not bring. Next to that, the reason they've been throwing songs, including 2 singles, and other promo things like the EP around is because they (or EMI) want to sell a record-breaking amount of albums and apparently this is the way to do it.

Mylo Xyloto Album Cover?
Both. The first one will be for vinyl, the second one for CD. I could be wrong on that though.

Mylo Xyloto (NME [fake] Review)
I miss the parodies on song lyrics made by people on this forum.

Countdown To Mylo Xyloto

Haha, really, don't make fun of my name, it's not my fault my parents gave me that name when I was born :inquisitive:

pure nostalgy Remember this?
White Shadows is a good song, but not one of their best and it doesn't hold the Coldplay feeling imho. Didn't quite do it live. I'm annoyed by the Bono-like performance by Chris too. So what's your point making a thread like this? We know you're nostalgic, we know you hate the new stuff, I don't like it either. But please stop making such a fuss about it all the time.

Setlist European tour
I guess they will do a predictable move and play almost the entire new album, with some greatest hits like In My Place, Yellow and Fix You, and very possibly Christmas Lights too. Or in other words, no big changes compared to the summer setlist, except that the rather surprising oldies like Shiver, Life Is For Living and Everything's Not Lost will disappear forever and be replaced by Up In Flames, DLIBYH and that stuff. Unfortunately. Though I wish they'd leave out Lost! and possibly In My Place (which won't happen) and add A Rush Of Blood To The Head, Spies, Amsterdam, or any obscure old track that will please the older hardcore fans instead of just the regular masses (that will faint when they see Chirs' face anyway). That way, they would also teach the general hit radio people that they have more and better to give than just a bunch of hits. Plus, they would prove that they are worth being one of the best bands out there, having the balls to surprise us instead of just playing the set everyone expects. None of this is going to happen. Unless we officially challenge them. Do you hear me, Coldplay? Do you think you can do it? Do you dare?

Coldplay - 'Falling' song in Breaking Dawn Pt. 1 Soundtrack?
Twilight is a horrible disgrace. But I see other respected artists are part of the soundtrack too. So we can't really blame all those artists for having no cultural sense of good films. So, is the song released on Monday or only the official anouncement of the soundtrack?

Things I really, really wish Coldplay would do
Yo MX I'm really happy for you and Imma let you finish, but AROBTTH had some of the best songs of ALL TIME.

Predict your rating for Mylo Xyloto
I gave Parachutes an 8.5 and Viva a 9 because I felt they were equally good with Viva being slightly in favour. But I was really just quickly putting a number on everything.

Things I really, really wish Coldplay would do
Yup. Impeccable post. I got you completely. Also, ApproximatelyInfinite's reply is made up of pure truth. I have nothing to add. Let's start a petition to make them play more obscure songs live :wink3:
