  1. Thanks, yeah. I've been going to college since immediately graduating high school. I'm kind of tired of school at this point haha, although college is a much nicer thing to attend than public schools and genuinely enjoy my time in class.
  2. Health care management, but half of my degree is business related, which is where the marketing comes into play. It's kind of funny, in college we're all told that the degree = immediate success in the field you're going into, but as I get closer to graduating and looking at job ads, you start to realize how much a pile of shit that notion is. You're competing against everybody else, with little to no experience in the field (luckily I do work in the field already, but yeah). Add to that, most employers want quite a few years of experience with most of the jobs and it becomes very hard for a college grad to get a job. Every time I go into my college office to pay bills or sign up for classes, they tell me how it's all going to pay off massively and how all this money I am spending is well worth the investment, and while I agree that college has made me infinitely more intelligent, I still want to tell them to stop blowing smoke up my ass. I might call them out on it next time. They're like cars salesmen saying they didn't make any money on a car sale. Don't give me that pile of crap, if you wouldn't make money on the deal, you would have never sold me the car.
  3. Thanks, and yeah I took two classes over the summer. I finish my Bachelors in February. I don't like taking time off as I get out of the groove, so I just keep going year round. Can't wait to be done. The way it works as well is once I finish this class, (which officially ends Sunday at 11:59 EST), Fall 1 starts Monday haha. No break or week in between like most colleges. No rest for the weary.
  4. Been telling myself since last Friday I need to study for my final in marketing. Haven't really studied at all and it's two days away.
  5. heh, I just think of the outlandish things people do to get some stars attention, and sometimes it works, and it's always the times that it works that it ends up being some feel good story in the media. This attempt didn't work.. pretty much the end of it. Is it creepy? Yeah, again I don't endorse what she did, but I also don't think it's worth throwing her in the fire over. That's all. She approached a pretty personal area but meh live and learn. Goes for both her and her dad I guess. No harm no foul. Just my opinion.
  6. You know, maybe I am in the minority here, but think about if Chris came down to greet her and sign a few things? Would we all be reacting this way? It's something to think about. I'm not saying it's right for her to go to Martin's building and see if he would answer the ringer, but maybe the ending to this story kind of changes how we respond to it. Teenage kids can do a hell of a lot worse imo. This isn't that big of a deal.
  7. I don't really take any clothing cues from the band because they all make it look good, don't get me wrong, I think the coat that Chris wore during AROBTTH was damn awesome, but I know I would look like an idiot trying to emulate their clothing choices. I have taken some instrument copying from Coldplay. Coldplay didn't get me into playing the piano, but they shortly afterward became my inspiration as a piano player. I started watching a lot of live performances and I became pretty interested in the type of piano Martin played, and I had never heard of a hybrid piano up until that point, so I researched and researched and found out that they are basically the most badass digital pianos out there. So after five years of playing and owning multiple pianos, I bought a NU1, which is Yamaha's replacement for Martin's GT20, and I love it to death. It's like a dream. On a more philosophical note -- I like Chris's view on living life as others have pointed out here. I appreciate his laid back approach and he's a very accepting guy. He's taught me to keep an open mind and don't judge so much. He has indirectly taught me to be a better person, imo. My favorite band and has had a massive impact on my life.
  8. God what I would give for Coldplay to do a set list with an orchestra. That Grammys performance is like a fucking tease.
  9. Lol, I remember those days. God some of you guys make me feel old, and I am only 22.
  10. I don't have a facebook, and people think I am a psycho because of it. My thing is that I talk to the people I care about already. So I am good with my situation. I don't find that I need facebook or any other social media to bring my social networking to another level. I find that facebook has only ever caused drama in most of my friends lives. "You see what he/she put on their status update?" I mean come on haha. I also dislike texting on my cellphone. I find it tedious, and annoying. I've written a piece for the college literary magazine (that too many people were offended by I guess so it didn't get published) emphasizing how ridiculous texting and cellphones have become in society. All I have to do is walk around my campus and see everybody focusing and typing away on their cellphones, staggering around like mindless zombies. No social interaction between anyone. I find it ridiculous. My rant is now over. But hang on, I also heard awhile back on the radio that employers are now growing suspicious of applicants they can't find on facebook. It has now come to the point where if you're not on facebook, you have something you're hiding. Yikes.
  11. Mostly a PC gamer here, so been playing sort of this indie game called Killing Floor which is zombie themed. Other than that, not much tbh. I have a 360 but I don't really do much with these days. I start Fall 1 full time on Monday so doubt I'll be playing much of anything, which sucks.
  12. Although I understand that the done up instruments was meant to express the ideas of MX, I personally liked their instruments before they started doing them up, better (pre Viva). I liked the polished ebony of the GT20, and the instruments as they were originally made. Maybe they'll go back to that style with the next album, but a majority of me thinks probably not.
  13. Glad this thread came up because I think it's a relevant issue in today's society. As has been said here, so many guys find the need to justify what they say for fear that others might find them to be homosexual. We live in a sort of paranoid society that suggests nothing positive should be said about another man's physical attributes because it's a reflection on one's self and motives. I've experienced this myself. I have absolutely zero problem stating if a guy looks good or not, want to know why? It's human-nature to size up other people of the same sex. We are constantly comparing ourselves against others -- so it's a crime when someone orally announces it? I am perfectly comfortable with my sexuality to speak about the way another man looks and I've been judged for that, and I even know that some of the people I work with think I am gay because of #1 my music choice (most notably Coldplay), two not a butch masculine dude that throws a sledge hammer all day long, and #3 because I don't have a girlfriend. The fact is, these same people that are making assumptions about you when you state if someone of the same sex is attractive or not, is honestly doing the same thing, but they won't admit it. Those people never admit that, and never will. That doesn't mean it isn't streaming through their brains just like these thoughts stream through ours. A lot of men simply aren't comfortable at all with complimenting another man's looks because of the conditioning of parents/society and how it's been for a long, long time. Plus, complimenting another man's looks as stated in this thread takes "power/masculinity" away from the one making the compliment, and as men we all know this is a big "no no." I listen to a radio show in the morning at work that has two co-hosts, one a male, the other a female. The male drinks wine, doesn't care about sports other than golf, enjoys reality shows like dancing with the stars, among other "non-masculine" things -- he's perfectly straight and is married to his lovely wife. In American culture he would be 100% homosexual based on societal assumptions we make. I personally am not a butch guy. I don't drink beer or do the typical "manly" activities. I don't smoke or do other things like that, I don't talk like a butch guy, and I get along quite well with women -- according to society I am probably 50% chance of being a homosexual lol. It's comical how the human mind works sometimes. You know who you are, and that's what matters.
  14. For some reason, I really like when a girl's hair falls over her forehead.
  15. I am super excited to hear this new song. I wasn't really expecting any new Coldplay material until next year at some point. I hope for a strong piano ballad, but there's no real way of knowing how it will be. I think we all have ideas of what we want it to be and hope it to be true, lol. It's interesting because it could be anything. Coldplay is very versatile when it comes to music, and they have that ability to go down different avenues and experiment, so I really have zero clue what the boys will come up with. Should be interesting everybody!
  16. The green eyes, yeah the spot light, shines upon you.
  17. Maybe if I had the mysterious crap Chris Martin touches the back of his throat with. Otherwise I am stuck with a singing voice that makes others stare at me, and not in that nice mesmerizing manner. More in a manner of like shut the hell up for the LOVE OF GOD. haha.
  18. ha, Im a huge car fan. TG is just epic. I watch everything, every episode.. every re-run on TV. James May for the fucking win.
  19. Nice cover man, seriously. Enjoyed it. I thought I took my Coldplaying seriously, but you're on a whole other level lol. Like the equipment and how well you put that together. Nice singing too. I can't sing for shit. It's a shame too, because I generally want to sing, I don't like playing just instrumentals. Find it boring.
  20. Love the Top Gear reference. Huge fan. And no, I really can't haha. I've tried, it's enough to put anyone off. I can do decently matching with my ipod while playing, but without I am terrible and all over the place and sound a bit well, moronic haha.
  21. Finished learning "Your Song" By Elton John on piano! Woooot! Now only if I knew how to sing.
  22. Well, yeah. Humans are humans are humans. Even across the pond, Americans eat this "crap" up, lol. I have not an utter clue why. Not to diss the royals or anything I guess, but I just don't get the fanfare I guess.
  23. as an aside, I just had curly zesty french fries with my burger for the first time in what must be at least a decade. It's unbelievably sad that something like that literally makes my night nice haha. Ah, the little things.
