[26-SEP-2015] Global Citizen Festival, New York
I agree with you. I thought Chris sang Viva and Yellow well, but by the time ASFOS came, he looked completely winded, but at the same time I don't think he sings that song that well live. I don't know, something is going on there I think, whether age is just starting to work on Chris (which we all hate to think about but eventually it just does), or maybe he's shaking off the rust, I don't know. Guess we will know once the new tour hits what exactly is going on.

[26-SEP-2015] Global Citizen Festival, New York
I'm kind of interested to know what exactly happened with the piano. It's hard to imagine a piano spontaneously breaking right before the gig. Pianos are pretty durable instruments, unless something with the electronics on it went wrong, which is my best guess.

What piano should I buy similar to Chris's one?
It isn't just cosmetic, it has Yamaha's CFX Concert Grand piano samples, and 256 polyphony compared to 32 polyphony of the GT20 -- that's irrelevant if you plan on using soundbanks via midi though. What you're paying for with a hybrid is the actual acoustic action in a case that doesn't weigh over 400 lbs. I've owned an acoustic console upright in the past, and there is virtually no difference in feel between the two, which is amazing. I don't think I could go back to playing a middle of the road digital piano -- I've been spoiled. I also like being able to play with headphones on, which is a very important feature for me. I am younger as well, and potentially on the move. Moving the NU1 to a different location wouldn't be as much of a hassle as it would be with an acoustic upright. Not to mention, no tuning necessary as far as pitch goes, the action needs tuning I believe every five years or so. Those are some of the advantages to the NU1/hybrid technology, but there are some disadvantages, mainly, that no matter what, you can't replicate the sound of an acoustic piano. You can get extremely close, but digitally created sound blasting from a speaker doesn't wrap and envelope you like the sound of a true acoustic does. You also don't get the vibrations in the keys like you do on an upright. I really do miss the encompassing sound from my upright -- there's nothing like it, but it depends on what factors you find most valuable for your set of circumstances. And yes, the link you posted is the NU1.

What piano should I buy similar to Chris's one?
Well, it depends on what you want. Chris used a Yamaha GT-20 hybrid piano (discontinued now though) from AROBTTH thru MX. Considering you defined the currency as Euros, you might be able to find a used Yamaha GT-20 around Europe -- check ebay or any other auction sites. Yamaha has recently released a similar/updated version of the hybrid piano -- the Yamaha NU1, it has all the same features such as a real upright acoustic action, digital piano samples, however the physical appearance is a bit different than the GT-20. I own a NU1 and I have been very pleased with it. Chris is now using a Disklavier/Silent U1 from Ghost Stories onward (to the most recent show at Itunes Festival, he is still using it). This is an actual 48" Acoustic Upright with the ability to play digital samples. So really there are two you can choose from if you want to get as close to what he is playing as possible. I'm not sure if 2k Euros would be enough for either - I live in North America so I can't help you there, but those are the models you should be looking at if you want similarity.

Edmonton Sun In Unsavoury Coldplay Jibe
I'm not quite sure how testicles apply in music, can someone educate me? Lol.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
You're completely right about Mumford & Sons, they have really changed their sound. I liked their original sound too though as well.

What are you thinking right now?
Why do I feel that when somebody talks to me about exams or college, that I need to go down and register for classes out of guilt? I know I am crazy.

What are you thinking right now?
I'm thinking about work. I wish someone told me this would happen after college lol.

Glastonbury Festival 2015
Coldplay and Glastonbury is like peanut butter and jelly -- they're just so right for each other. It'd be so awesome for them to headline this year.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
that's exactly how I feel haha, it's contradictory, I understand. It's kind of like being excited about a new job opportunity. You're stoked about the pay increase and benefits, but you're also terrified because it's different, and unknown. This Coldplay album brings similar types of anxiety to me. I'm like YESS!!! A new Coldplay album! Oh my GOD I hope I like it!

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
I am absolutely stoked for the new album, but I am also cautiously optimistic. I definitely don't want a completely computerized album, that would really bother me.

Describe The Evolution Of Your Music Taste
When I was younger, I tried to be cool. I pretended to like what my friends liked, and what was considered great at the time. It wasn't really anything that I emotionally liked. The type of music was your regular homogenized crap you hear on the radio. I then found a band called "The Counting Crows" and I took a particular liking to them (still am a fan of their earlier stuff). That's when I began to enjoy music for myself instead of trying to please others. The Counting Crows actually got me into playing piano, oddly enough, it was the track "A Long December" that made me want to try it out. I then found Coldplay, and the music was just what I always thought music was meant to be. The harmony Coldplay create in their chord progressions, and the lyrics are incredible. Specifically, songs like Fix You, The Scientist, Clocks, Everything's Not Lost, Sparks, Yellow, Politik, they're all incredible, emotionally powerful. I don't care what people say about Coldplay, it really doesn't matter, and I am not embarrassed to say I am a die-hard. I'll fly the flag. This is the music that I consider to be beautiful, this is the music I identify with, this is the music that rushes through my heart. It makes me feel alive and in touch with my senses. It's like musical nirvana for me, a clear understanding of what is awesome. I also love instrumentals. I am a big fan of Yiruma and Ludovico Einaudi. You really know you are listening to good music when you basically enter a trance-like state that can't be broken throughout the entirety of the piece, and that's what these artists bring to me.

Coldplay & Swearing
I love the fact that Chris doesn't use swear words. I think using swear words in lyrics is so lame. I really think it just makes one look like an idiot. I truly respect this tremendously about Coldplay.

Least favourite song from each album?
Parachutes: Spies AROBTTH: Daylight (Can't stand how Chris sings it, or the chords used). X&Y: X&Y Viva La Vida: Yes (Ugh) MX: Princess of China / Up In Flames (I don't really like either of these songs) Ghost Stories: Oceans (just find myself skipping it a lot).

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
I don't think people should hope for a repeat of a style of music they produced in the past, partly because I don't ever see it happening. Those days are done. The band seems intent on reinventing themselves each and every album since Viva. I think this is just the way it is, and probably something we have to learn to accept.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
The thing about this "End of a story" talk is -- where did the story begin? Parachutes? Are we saying before they ever released their first album, Chris had an entire story planned out? If so, that's genius. I tend to believe it's directly connected to Ghost Stories. At the end of Ghost Stories we are left with a realization. I think AHFOD will be expanding and pounding home that realization. I think this tends to jive with his clue of an uplifting album.

And btw, I like Miracles because I like it.
