  1. I don't want this to be their last album because I feel that once they can separate themselves from EMI, they can make something truly outstanding. I'll be surprised if MX measures up to even X&Y, sure it has a few gems, but I really don't think this album is sounding too special.
  2. How can you end an album proclaiming something as cheesy as that?
  3. This song is right up there with Parkdale and The Lifestyle. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVa8hoUBlZU]Metric - London Halflife - YouTube[/ame]
  4. ETIAW cannot end the album, that's just a really poor decision. :(
  5. In a lot of albums, there's always that great big BANG that is the penultimate track and then something extremely emotional and heartfelt at the end (Set Yourself On Fire: Soft Revolution and Calendar Girl; Forgiveness Rock Record: Water In Hell and Me And My Hand; High Violet: England and Vanderlyle Crybaby Geeks; Absolution: Thoughts Of A Dying Atheist and Ruled By Secrecy). I could see ETIAW as a penultimate track, kind of the celebration towards the end. Then the final track could be something really solemn that kind of looks back on it all. And in response to john: I'm sure that they have the tracklist finalized at this point and they've probably sent it in for the album. They're probably just finishing everything now.
  6. I think Mylo Xyloto is doomed if they make ETIAW the first or last track. MX/HLH should be first, and I just do not think that the drumming outro makes a good closer. No offense to the Champion, but it's just too blunt. I could see it as maybe the second or third track, maybe even second to last, but not the first, last, or towards the middle. :\
  7. I think the mess up made it special.
  8. It's only poor in comparison to its predecessors. Neon Bible and Funeral are leagues beyond The Suburbs, it's like comparing Bossanova to Doolittle and Surfer Rosa by Pixies. :\
  9. Michael Jackson vs. Prince
  10. I've lost all faith in this band if they proceed to create more albums in the vein of The Suburbs without their eccentric instrumentation.
  11. I truly believe that Princess Of China and Hurts Like Heaven are the only two decent songs I've heard from this era.
  12. Hurts Like Heaven was the best at Rock Am Ring and Us Against The World was the best at Glasto. I don't really have much to say about anything else.
  13. I think Yes is more of a Viva piece. They could play Ode To Deodorant 23 times in a row but I would be perfectly content seeing Coldplay if they were to play Princess Of China and Chinese Sleep Chant. No correlation between the two both referencing China, I guess it's just coincidence.
  14. Yup. It's okay, different from anything she's done before, nowhere near my favorite from 2011 as a whole even so far, but it's a good St. Vincent album.
  15. St. Vincent's Strange Mercy just leaked. S'alright.
  16. I think they'll have two setlists: one will open with HLH and the other CB. Are any of these shows going to be pro-shot like the festivals?
  17. did somebody say the best the best the best the best the best the best of you? [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSEiEB2oyeQ&feature=related]THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST - YouTube[/ame]
  18. If they don't tell us anything about it either today or tomorrow, I think it'd be safe to assume there won't be any vinyl release or any of that. Moving To Mars could possibly be the only b-side we get in the MX era.
  19. Just because a song isn't registered in the database doesn't mean it's ruled out of release on the album. Feist is putting out her new album titled Metals one month from now and the only song registered that's on it is Anti-Pioneer. This is the same Feist that put out sensational hit songs Mushaboom, 1234, My Moon My Man, I Feel It All, etc. It doesn't have to be registered to be included.
  20. It's likely that it either got scrapped, changed, or merged with another song, but I really want to hear Chris reference It Was A Wonderful Day in one of these songs.
