VLV and AROBTTH seem like two high points, Parachutes is pretty high too. X&Y and this new one seem like they'll be the let-downs of their career.

I don't know if they're STILL writing new songs but from the update about trying to write a tracklist and about the itunes festival 18 hour-old song, it's tell-tale that they are.

I like Speed Of Sound quite a bit. The Scientist is my least favorite, followed by Yellow. :shrug:

They're probably just finishing mixing it or working on the last one or two songs by now and piecing it together. Which is fine... I can wait for late October (especially with the new Feist album) :wacky: And they'll probably put out an EP with this unreleased material if they're still writing solid songs, even up to this point.

What I find funny is how they go to bash Coldplay but proceed to go and praise Arcade Fire. Especially during this Suburbs tour, they're really showing their douchey side (shutting off someone's camera, unfair tour, telling people that attend multiple shows to move back...)

Think back to before The Suburbs was announced. Sprawl and Half Light are two main "poles" on that album. Those poles weren't even known or performed live until after the album details had dropped (or even leaked). I'm not going to assume that Wilderness or Sex & Violence are main poles of this fifth album, but I wouldn't say that we've heard everything yet. I'm sure we've heard a significant amount, I wouldn't even rule out that the songs on the ETIAW EP will be on LP5 as they very well could be. Songs could have been merged, they might have less solid material than we believe. But if they do, they can always put out an EP or save it for a new album if the concept flows well enough.
