They may be, but I personally don't know anyone else who listens to them and I've never heard them on the radio or TV, so I assumed they weren't that popular. Still they are very good. Give them a listen if you haven't already.

Well, I guess "obsure" kind of depends on the person, but I'll say what I've been listening to latley that you all may not know. As you can see on my list, I've been listening to The Black Box Revelation alot lately. They're a pretty new band so there still pretty obscure. I recentally have also been listening to a band called Sloan. They seem to have quite a large cult following online, but I don't know anyone who listens to them, so I guess they're obscure. I highly reccomend both bands to anyone who hasn't heard of them. Sloan is a canadian, really brit-pop sounding band, while BBR is kind of like a mix of The Rolling Stones and The Black Keys. Also, while I have the chance I would like to advertise for The Brian Jonestown Massacre. They're not really obscure but they are so underrated! I recommend "Their Satanic Majesties' Second Request". Also, if any of you are interested in "historic" indie bands, I'd recommend you check some psycdelic bands from the mid sixies (if your into that kind of stuff, which I obviously am). There were alot of good bands during that era that were kind of pioneers of independed music and underground scenes. Some of it's really hard to find but if you do enough digging you can find some gems! Just something to check out.:)

yes, that's exactly what i meant! i meant no offense to anyone, I'm fine with all their points of view. On the internet though, i find peoples motives can often be interpreted wrong. i meant no offense, i was just stating my personal opinion, if you took as offensive, I didn't mean it to sound like that. Hope we can put this whole thing behind us.

It's interesting that The Man Who Swears is written with Major Minus. It has the "crocadile clock" lyric, like "I hear those crocadiles ticking". I wonder, is Major Minus that old? They have similar subject matter, and The Man Who Swears Always sort of seemed to be about Maximilien Robespierre to me...he's like a villian for the french revolution, as Major Minus is to Mylo's world. I don't know. Alot to think about here. Also car kids.

I totally agree. You'd think that since this is a Coldplay forum it wouldn' have very many haters, but people are bad mouthing it all over the place. Oh well, their loss.

Well yes, they're mostly popular bands, but there popular becuase alot of people think they are good. Theres nothing wrong with me liking popular artists, there popular for a reason. I've listened to other stuff this year, those just happen to be the best. Alot of peoples these days think poular = bad, and I'm not saying you think that, but you've heard of these bands because alot of people talk about them because alot of people think they are good. I'm ending this here, these are my views, sure there are indie bands I listen to, but they just didn't make my list, as some of my all time favorite artists made albums this year. Lay off me man, it's my opinion.

I don't have the time or money to listen to all of that stuff. I listen to alot of stuff but my music circles don't cross with these particular critics. Plus, there are some genres of music that I just don't like, so I'm not going to look into those particular genres. But yeah, I listen to alot of music that alot of people probally haven't heard of. Theres so much out there it's impossable to hear it all.:dizzy:

Yeah. They also played some B-sides which was a great suprise!

I saw them live recentally and they were amazing. Liam was in top form! Plus, it was in an intimate venue, so that made it extra awesome!

I personally think this whole thing is a lie, Coldplay probally don't even know about it. If people were being payed to meet Coldplay, don't you think at least one person on the forum would have known that and been there. The root for all of this is the sun article, which I don't trust. Coldplay isn't that kind of band, so don't worry. Plus remeber the "1st paradise video". It was supposed to have a super model in it. We got elephants.:lol:

Well, I'm saying I'm dissapointed that my favorites aren't on the list. The ones on there may be very good, I won't doubt that until I hear them, but the reason I don't like the list is becuase I don't know them, if that makes sense. I haven't heard them, so personally they wouldn't be in my top albums of the year.

Well on the WoM thread I recently found out Eps do actually count so your number one thought is now invalid. Also, why did you feel you needed to post this? Of coarse we have different views on music, you don't have to like my list, but this seems kind of rude (especially number 4). You wanted to see my list, so I posted it. Someone should make a video recapping the whole Car Kids thing. That would be awesome. Maybe I'll make that...I'll have to do some digging. That's why everyone is so excited about it. They've mentionded it in interviews too. Plus, take a good look at the Us Against The World Symbol. All Oracle apporved! Maybe someday....You will join the car kids....one...of....us!!!!!
