For some reason when I first heard the news The Scientist stated playing in my head. RIP Steve Jobs "Those who are dead are not dead, they're just living in our HANDS" ~His legacy

Viva La Vida Release Date on the MX Wall!
Really? Its obvious that the album will be 7 minutes and 5.8 seconds long... They'll just play all the songs at 6 times normal speed. duh.

Mylo Xyloto: 44.09 mins long? Songs time here.
What we have learned in this thread: - There are 60 seconds in a minute, not 100 - Length doesn't make an album - UFO is too (short/long) given how (amazing/what a pice of crap) it is. - Songs don't have to be 5 minutes - Math is power In the next thread we will learn: - Speeling - How to pronounce "Mylo Xyloto" like David Letterman

Moving to Mars directed by Mat Whitecross
Hmm maybe MTM (the song) is going to be part of the film or on the soundtrack... this might be why they left it off the album. Or Coldplay didn't want people to think that they stole the name who knows, but this alone makes a good argument for why they left it off MX.

The Album is 45 min Long - Says Chris on Hamish and Andy's Gap Year
Yes, VLVODAHF was only 10 songs... BUT there were 3 hidden tracks all around 3-2 minutes long. So MX, MMIX or AHT might actually be longer than a few seconds.

Devastating in its Simplicity
My god... that picture it changes everything. This song is now officially about bread... no not just bread, toast... BREAD going UP IN FLAMES and turning into TOAST!

Coldplay Interview at Edge Rock of Fame Induction (Toronto)
I liked the bit about Charlie Brown. Although I'll have to look at the lyrics again, I guess they actually mean his heart was smashed into smithereens. Tell you what though that song is going to be big, I don't think we realize how big but its gonna be huge. Also: Lol Dweeb

Guy Berryman: 'Mylo Xyloto was soundtrack album' (Plus Exclusive REVIEW by Chris Martin himself!!!)
First album was acoustic --> UFO was the first song written for that album --> UFO has a acoustic sound. Therefore. My expectations of UFO have gone through the roof.

Devastating in its Simplicity
I was once told a story about Picaso that goes a little like this: ___________________________________________________________ A critic once went to meet Picaso in his studio, upon entering she looked around the room unimpressed by his work. It was not until she was about to leave that she came across a simple drawing on the floor no more than a few lines and squiggles scrawled on a piece of paper, it had clearly taken no more than a minute, she picked it up staring at it. She was overcome by its beauty, its majesty, its simplicity... she stood there devastated, overwhelmed by the piece. When she asked Picaso how long it had taken him he replied "All of my life." ___________________________________________________________ This is what we must keep in mind when listening to UiF, it is not meant to be a complex story... it is about that moment that one simple moment when your realize its over. Be it throwing away a picture or erasing a name, when things end its usually not with a bang its with one simple gesture... wars end when papers are signed, days end when the sun sets. If this song had complex lyrics it would defeat the whole purpose of the song, and I think if you have experienced this phenomenon when you realize something is over throughout the smallest of actions then you understand this weight of this song. Also, as far as we know, this is the last song that Chris wrote... and if like Picaso he feels as if this was his masterpiece, a culmination of all his lives work then maybe thats why he feels like its their last album. Just my 2 cents.

Coldplay OK With Fans' Mylo Xyloto Title Confusion
I like it, although I think Hakunamatata or Langiappe would have been better examples. Mylo Xyloto sounds like a state of mind to me, for example "Serenity Now" or: Guy: Im upset no one really knows I exist. Chris: Mylo Xyloto my friend, one day they will. Or: Tommy: Oh man this test is going to be so hard it covers all 12 chapters in the accounting text book and the history of China! Bobby: Mylo Xyloto, just study hard do all the work and you'll be fine. Mylo Xyloto - A belief that no matter how bad the odds are, how many people are against you, they can be overcome.

predictions on the Billboard Hot 100
I feel like this song is popular with the "alt" crowd which now really seems to be any music that doesn't clearly fit into another genere. Its not a real measuring stick but in North America on the XM station Alt Nation it cracked the top 18 most requested songs in less than a week... make of that what you will.

MX Review (Austin Listening Party)
Considering spacing I would guess AHT was the instrumental and UFO was the song,

Oh and the hot girl in the Charlie Brown video:

:)
No no no these are the real lyrics: "When she was just a girl She expected the world But it flew away from her reach And she drifted off into sleep And said Don- Don- Don't Le- Le- Let I- I- It Bre- Bre- Break Y- Y- Your Hear- Hear- Heart"

Christmas Lights-But not the style of LP5 :(
Christmas Lights was late Viva era/ early early MX, just look at the cover of the single. If they do a single for Christmas this year I hope it includes the lyrics "Jesus- Jesus - Jesus Christ" and features Kanye, Bruce Springsteen, Katy Perry, Ke$sha and Deadmau5... maybe Bob Dylan too

Daniel just stuck his head in the lion's den Also I don't think Up in Flames is a festival song, stadium song yes but i think its a very intimate and quiet song. Either that or they didn't like how it sounded last night.

Coldplay At Austin City Limits Music Festival: What Do You Expect Tonight?
I guess they didn't like how Up In Flames sounded last night, maybe they did need more rehearsal like R42 said haha. Really though I think that the only reason they played it last night was because that special won't air until after MX is released.

UIF WORLD DEBUT - watch the video
Things to remember: - This was their first time ever preforming this - This was recorded on an iPhone 4, they have a hard time picking up lows and tend to distorts highs when recording ambient noise aka noise not right next to it or close to it (Not saying you did a bad job recording just stating what iPhone4's do haha, thank you so much for uploading that)

UIF WORLD DEBUT - watch the video
I actually like the studio version of MTM a lot more than the live version, live it was just kind of meh
