  1. Oh yeah I guess note placement is pretty important too :laugh3:
  2. This thing is called the stave. All the notes sit on it. The stave is split into bars by vertical lines which mean different things: With me so far?
  3. She's so beautiful :stunned:
  4. Ooooh I do Decision Maths! Basically it's to do with algorithms. All we've done so far is how to find the shortest route between two points on a network and stuff like that. We're doing something called the Travelling Salesman Problem at the moment: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Travelling_salesman_problem And yeah, I hate proofs :( Last year the one question I couldn't do in my exam was a proof question
  5. So I finally got round to listening to Ceremonials (even though it's been out for like a year, bad bad fan :whip:) I love it! Not sure yet whether I like it more than Lungs though... I haven't actually listened to Lungs in ages!
  6. Dunno, but I still love it :D
  7. Oh no, people have started making lists! :o 1. OK Computer 2. Kid A 3. In Rainbows 4. Hail to the Thief 5. The Bends 6. Amnesiac 7. The King of Limbs 8. Pablo Honey This is what it is at the current moment anyway... it changes every time I listen to one of them. OKC, TKOL and PH will probably stay in the same spots forever though. edit: And even though it doesn't count, The Eraser would be about 4.5
  8. I don't even remember making thi s thread :stunned:
  9. I love maths! Especially algebra.
  10. It has to be OK Computer for me. Every moment of that album is perfect. (except maybe Fitter Happier  but even that has its own special charm!)
  11. I accidentally hit post reply before I'd finished checking it and making finishing touches... but it should be OK! (I also forgot to make a poll, sorry!)
  12. August Greetings, Coldplayers! Welcome to the review of the wonderful month of August 2012. While it may not have had such exciting news as August 2011 (with the much-anticipated announcement of the title of LP5) there was still no shortage of thrills and spills! (well, mostly thrills :P) Oh, and a few rumours as well :sneaky: First off, let’s get the BORING STUFF out of the way… This month saw Universal Music in talks to sell Parlophone, the label which includes acts such as Coldplay, Blur and Lily Allen, in order to aid them in their bid for EMI. But I know you don’t really care about any of this stuff, so let’s get on to what really mattered… the Mylo Xylotour! TOUR! (Thanks buffyjoo for this amazing picture!) August started with the North American leg of the MX tour already in full swing, with shows in Washington, Toronto, Montreal and Boston just behind them. The band played a series of successful concerts in Detroit, East Rutherford, Chicago and St. Paul, bringing the colour and joy of their music to an ever wider audience. The end of July had seen the return of fan favourite song Green Eyes, so Coldplayers were eagerly anticipating any other rarities that might return… some fans in Chicago clearly had their aims set high, as they held up signs requesting Amsterdam, which had not been played since 2005. Chris apologised (humble as always) and played as much of the song as he could remember, which as it turned out wasn’t much. But the next day, the band got busy rehearsing and the result was the first full performance of this amazing song in nearly 7 years! :awesome: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FXN68fZ7ZQw]Coldplay Amsterdam Live Chicago 08/8/2012 - YouTube[/ame] As always, Roadie #42 kept fans informed and entertained with his blogs, which this month included a video of a rare new song! Well, sort of… [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfHvwlaUu3s&feature=player_embedded]Graham Against The World - YouTube[/ame] But things weren’t always so great for the good Roadie, as he shared with us the harrowing tale of how he lost his passport and was forced to face the terrifying “Walk of Shame.” You can read all about this here http://www.coldplaying.com/index.php?name=News&file=article&sid=7949 And here are links to the threads for the August US gigs where you can find pictures, reviews and more: Auburn Hills: http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=91834 East Rutherford Night 1: http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=90978 East Rutherford Night 2: http://coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=91164 Chicago Night 1: http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=90979 Chicago Night 2: http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=91229 St Paul Night 1:http://coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=91932 St Paul Night 2: http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=90980 After a short break, the band were back in Europe for the next leg of the tour. To many fans’ delight, the August 28th show in Copenhagen was live-streamed and you can find a recording of it here http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=94832 (Thanks hps!) As if one live-stream wasn't enough, the August 30th show in Stockholm was also streamed! You can find this one here too http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=94864 (Thanks Tash and hps!) Copenhagen: http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=91000 Stockholm: http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=91001 During the gig in Stockholm, Paradise was filmed for the Stand Up To Cancer TV broadcast, but ultimately the version from Stade de France was used instead. Anyway, that’s about all the tour news from the month of August, so let’s move on to other news… OTHER NEWS (and rumours) There wasn’t much in the way of news in August, however there were some interesting rumours going around… Various sources in Brazil began to report that Coldplay would be heading to South America in 2013. Possible tour dates in Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Chile were even rumoured: http://www.coldplaying.com/index.php?name=News&file=article&sid=7950 (Thanks Ian!) Fans had to wait until November for any official announcement, but that’s another story for another Coldplayer to tell… There were also a lot of rumours about Coldplay performing at the Olympic Games closing ceremony, but of course these turned out to be rubbish, and the band set the record straight: (Thanks Anchorman!) Meanwhile hype was building around the band’s planned performance at the Paralympics closing ceremony, where they were rumoured to be joined by Rihanna and Jay-Z… but that is also a story for another month ;) It was also becoming apparent that the band members already had plans for the future of Coldplay, as rumours were flying all over the place about Chris taking a year off, and moving to LA with wife Gwyneth Paltrow (according to this article http://www.radaronline.com/exclusives/2012/08/chris-martin-gwyneth-paltrow-moving-los-angeles) and that the band wouldn’t start working on another album for ‘at least another year’. However, it still remains to be seen what the future holds for these plans. BIRTHDAYS! Finally, it’s time to look at some of the birthday celebrations that took place this month! :vuvuzela: First of all, everyone’s favourite drummer Will Champion celebrated his 34th birthday at the end of July, and in usual tradition Chris led the Detroit crowd in a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday on August 1st: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0aSC4LT_Uyg]Happy birthday Will - YouTube[/ame] It was also the birthday of the ever-lovely Phil Harvey on August 29th: And last but certainly not least, the much loved album A Rush Of Blood To The Head celebrated its 10th anniversary on August 26th! :awesome: Can anyone believe it has really been 10 years since its release? :o Anyway, that’s pretty much everything that happened in August, sorry if I missed anything! Thanks for reading this and I hope you enjoy reading the rest of the reviews! :)

I'm a bit late to the party it seems, but I got their album for Christmas and I've listened to it twice so far. It seems pretty good but I wouldn't call them the next Radiohead :laugh3:

  21. Dwarves with bows? What madness is this?
  22. I haven't seen the Hobbit yet so I don't know who would win :(
  23. The Hardest Part 5 Lovers in Japan 15 ------------------------ What if 3 Charlie Brown 17
  24. This is true. The Stones are at least still performing even though they're in their late 60s, so hopefully U2 can also continue that long. (As long as the quality of their performances doesn't decrease of course.)
