  1. Not counting the instrumental tracks: 1) Us Against the World (9 out of 10) 2) Up with the Birds (8 out of 10) 3) Hurts Like Heaven (7 out of 10) 4) U.F.O. (7 out of 10) 5) Charlie Brown (7 out of 10) 6) Don't Let It Break Your Heart (6 out of 10) 7) Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall (6 out of 10) 8) Princess of China (5 out of 10) 9) Up In Flames (5 out of 10) 10) Major Minus (4 out of 10) 11) Paradise (4 out of 10)
  2. I love MX. That being said, why does it need to be a separate track?
  3. This was my favorite song from the festivals and I'm glad they did it justice in the studio. Truly one of the (admittedly few) highlights of the album.
  4. If it's campaign finance they have a problem with, I'm on board. But I'm still failing to see how Occupy Wall Street accomplishes this... Moreover, shame on those protestors trying to make this a Democrat vs Republican issue.
  5. Where did the 9/10 come from btw? Metacritic has BBC giving Myxlo Xyloto an 8 out of 10.
  6. I think it should have been off the album altogether. Not because it's a terrible per se but because it doesn't fit with the other songs on the album. Maybe on an EP or as a B-side. And it definitely should not have followed Us Against the World.
  7. I really hope they don't tarnish their legacy
  8. I know Q Magazine is mediocre but I can't get over the fact they compared U.F.O. to Faust Arp.
  9. Major Minus was never a great song to begin with but its faults are more magnified within the album. I can never get over the fact it is between ETIAW + U.F.O.
  10. I've accepted by this point that Coldplay will never reach the potential they hinted at with their first two albums.
  11. I personally don't think it's the worst but it belongs in the conversation
  12. I think it's a decent song if you judge it by itself. But it's absolutely terrible within the context of the album as it kills the flow of the album. At the very least, it should not between U.F.O. and Up In Flames.
  13. Reading some of the responses, I think people incorrectly think that I'm wanting another "sulky" album (whatever that means) or that I'm saying Coldplay "sold out" (again, whatever that means). No, this is a question of whether Chris Martin doesn't have the same motivation as he used to because of his success. I've also listened to Mylo Xyloto a number of times and sadly, their lyrics again aren't very good (with some exceptions).
  14. While I enjoy Moving to Mars, I don't think it would have fit anywhere on the album in terms of flow.
  15. Significantly better than the audio rip for POC
  16. Completely kills the momentum after ETIAW ends. And it's not like it was some brilliant track to start with....
  17. When I heard reviewers compare Up In Flames to Massive Attack + James Blake, I was genuinely excited. Thought the production could somehow elevate the boring live version. Nope, still boring.
  18. Take a listen for yourself and see :) I personally think it's a solid album, still below AROBTTH
  19. Paradise/Princess of China. Surprise? :P
  20. A welcome relief after the release of the poor singles. But nowhere near a masterpiece as some people are making it out to be. It's a solid album, like 7 out of 10.
  21. Nature just said that HLH is better live. And I completely agree.
  22. ETIAW? Yes Major Minus? No. At the very least, it should not be between ETIAW + UFO. It's album momentum killer #2
  23. Paradise, Major Minus + Princess of China try their hardest to kill the flow of the album
